  • A TH-cam First!!!! Replacing Belts on my 644 New Holland Baler.
    I've been looking for months on the Internet for how to replace belts on a New Holland 644 Baler. There ain't any. So I made one. This may not be the right way; but it works for me.
    If anyone can find some information on replacing the belts, leave me a comment and I'll check it out.

    Good job sir. I have a Vermeer rebel that I'm about to change the belts on for the first time. This gave me some good ideas. Thanks for taking the time to do this demo. I also agree on the not washing. I also use high pressure air and the I wipe off the sides and top with a dry rag before I store it.

    Wow! That’s a lot of extra work on the 644 vs my 664. Mine just has a bar that pulls out that takes all the tension off all the belts then they just attach new lace to old lace temporarily and thread new belt as you pull old belt out. Then thread the lace cable through the laces.

    Good job, I learned several things that I needed for my job to work on a BR7060. Can you replace the splices in your old belts or just one belt instead of replacing all of them? I got one belt that was hanging on by 4 splice loops, started trying to put hooks back into the previous holes while still in the baler. That was hard to do so I pulled the belt out and it’s still on the back of the truck . The pins and hooks were much more worn than yours. Loops are completely open on a lot of the hooks and pins are about gone to.

    • @WormHoleFarming
      @WormHoleFarming  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to put a short splice in. You want all your belts to be the same length. Otherwise it will put too much tension on the one belt and just rip the hooks out again.

    How do the diamond top belts compare to the original mini rough top. Do you find the baler starts bales better?

    • @WormHoleFarming
      @WormHoleFarming  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I put the same style that it had on it. I can tell that the bales start quicker and I have less "Plug-up" when starting a new bale. Hope that helps.

    • @WormHoleFarming

    Hello Sir, interesting video! at how much PSI can/are you baling with this belt connectors? I live in the netherlands and they say here that those connectors Arent Strong Enough and that they Will brake. But I see much balers on youtube with this connectors.
    Sorry for bad english,

    • @WormHoleFarming
      @WormHoleFarming  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I'm not sure about the PSI, but you can roll a bale so tight that you can't stick a spear in it to pick it up.

    do you know how to add fluid to the bale tensioner hydraulic piston?

    • @WormHoleFarming
      @WormHoleFarming  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Unfortunately it's a long drawn out affair. It requires a special tool to hook on to the Hydro cylinder to add and subtract fluid. As bad as I hate to say it; you're better off letting the dealer do it. It's not worth the price of the special tool, to do it yourself.

    • @RayMillTN1
      @RayMillTN1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WormHoleFarming I just did the procedure - It involved hooking up a hose from the Tractor to the special connector and exercising it a few times. which includes hyper extending it .I did however not move the auto-wrap arm out of the way and "knocked" it out of adjustment - but I have dense bales again! and by knocking out of adjustment I mean- I bent the pivot pin it rides on - not bad broke - but auto-wrap is not auto anymore. hopefully an easy fix.

      The manual with the baler explains it, not hard and the hydraulic fitting is a air chuck fitting

      Apply 12 volts to the actuator, reverse the polarity to move the wrapper in or out .this will let you see whether it’s working the way it supposed to.Had an actuator break once before, 800 bucks for a remanufactured which is better than the one that came on the baler new.$50 core charge. BR7060 with about 7 or 8,000 bales on it now.
