Elon is making it really hard right now for sane people to acknowledge the unprecedented vision and execution of his first several ventures because his most recent enterprises have veered so far from their path. Clearly, without Elon, SpaceX and Tesla would never have changed the world (unquestionably for the better for all of us). SpaceX can continue without him but they'll never get to Mars without his singular oversized ambition and ability to attract so many genius engineers and managers and ability to direct them to look to a far cooler future and aim far beyond what is both possible and profitable in the short term; and to throw untold billions at the problem; denying no one on his (very large) team the resources to make the unimaginable happen; and then make it seem routine.
Watching it come in so smoothly and under exact control was surreal. We've all seen the animations for years and I still wasn't ready for it. First time, we were all hoping for the best but just hoping it didn't take out the tower or the prop farm. True out of the box thinking from spaceX. Hopefully block 2 will give us a starlink deployment and Starship catch soon too, and at some point they're going to need a fuel depot. Somehow I think that's going to be a piece of cake compared to catching a falling skyscraper on fire with giant robot arms.
Im glad I watched this view live as I think it was better than the SpaceX live stream. The flight and watching live was amazing. I wish I could have seen it in person.
Well Said , and the only one I could hear was ME , That was unreal crazy, At least we know what a perfect catch look's like , I'll still be yelling & holding my breath....!
I've always been a fan of NSF, but it's been the nerd excitement in the commentary that entertains my wife the most. She appreciates all this because of you. Well done!!
I really felt the size of the booster in the catch. I guess I have more references to scale knowing it's 9 meters wide. Falcon 9 has always looked smaller than it actually is to me.
Well, I think someone said in the Flame Trench that if it they catch it, everyone at NSF must shave their head… Will you all be partaking in said deal?
Still having problems with flaming engines I see. 😂New engine isolation seems to make it a localized affair at least. Wonder if that will be fixed by flight 6…?
A primeira conquista do homem para a humanidade foi pisar no solo da lua e, o segundo grande e incrível feito do homem para a humanidade é ter conseguido fazer seu foguete voltar do espasso para o ponto de partida.
Saturn 5 wasn't designed for it. They had trouble getting those first stage engines to work in the first place. They certainly didn't have the computational capacity to design or control a booster that could land at all, much less do it precisely enough for a tower to catch it. And until the Falcon 9 succeeded at it (and then did so hundreds of times), nobody even believed landing a booster was possible!
I'm in Ohio, I'm sure I woke up the neighbors when I saw this.. can just one person please respond to this? I'm trying to figure out if I was silent banned for cussing too much. Please, and thank you.
Are people not realizing this has already been done? SpaceX already landed a booster. This is not a catch... It just landed on top instead of with feet on the bottom. Amazing but all they did was change location and added legs up top...
Respect to whoever set up the on-site audio equipment, you guys really captured the loud.
NSF has cameras all over bolsa chica the catch was epic
"Captured the loud" I love that phrase
I saw this in person, and I had the same reaction! Literally the COOLEST THING EVER!!!
It was very cool.
Also you stole my pfp
@@Icarus_37 I mean.. technically yours is a mirror image of mine, so.. 🤷♂😂
That thing literally emitted thousands of degrees in Celsius. Still so cool though
I was there too!
Hottest!
I wish more people cared about this. Truly an amazing feat of engineering, resources and dreams.

Your reactions were priceless and why this channel is so much fun to watch. Thanks for posting this NSF team.
"That's the thirt-" *BWOAAAHRGH*
The sonic boom and engine roar was so loud you couldn't even hear them screaming!
Right! And they were apologizing for screaming afterwards. I heard nothing!😂
I love this angle it feels like I'm standing there
Cool, but you wouldn't want to be. 🙃
@DavJumps not because you would die or anything, it would be hot tho, bye bye hearing!😂
The folks at SpaceX are a bunch of mad lads! This looks like something out of a steam punk futuristic movie. Wild stuff!
still can't believe it despite seeing it live, amazing flight, one of the moments ill remember forever despite my horrible memory
this kid is like 5 stop lying u didnt see shit live

They made it look easy. Truly remarkable engineering.

Commenters went wild? Hell, I was watching I didn’t hear them over ….me! That was nuts.
Well Said , and the only one I could hear was ME , That was unreal crazy, At least we know what a perfect catch look's like , I'll still be yelling & holding my breath....!
Oh you were the one roaring so loudly! I thought it was the rocket 😜
I've always been a fan of NSF, but it's been the nerd excitement in the commentary that entertains my wife the most. She appreciates all this because of you. Well done!!
Great achievement and thanks for the coverage
HOW DID THEY DID IT!
Ikr wtf was that 😂
THEY DID IT HOW DID THEY DID IT
Thank you NSF team! Reactions are Epic!!
Fantastic computer programming. Those guys are awesome.
Absolute power of that thing

Moon and mars here we come
And hopefully Europa and Titan one day too!!
Goosebumps ❤
Amazingly awesome! Great job SpaceX.
Congratulations
That's the American Dream right there, doing the impossible

You can see the flush of fire as it slows down between all but the three engines which is sickkkk
Well, I think someone said in the Flame Trench that if it they catch it, everyone at NSF must shave their head…
Will you all be partaking in said deal?
I'll bring my shaver and razors.
I think Alex would die first. 😂
I heard that to 🤣🤣
I love NASA❤😂 Space Flight
Of course they went nuts. They caught a 25 story BUILDING that just dropped out of the sky. Fcking sick acomplishment
😂 and you believe this BS?
@@2handsandwiches yes, I was there. Nice try though🤣
@@mtmadigan82 of course you were.. I've just as much proof of that as I have of them landing on the moon..Zero..
@@2handsandwichesyou are so far in your own world it’s crazy the only flat sphere is your skull buddy

The madness at spaceX produces wonders
Show us your faces while this happened. I loved the reactions for the first ever test flight.
One day this will be the norm 😊

When you see that giant rocket coming in ballistic I’m thinking that’s gonna make a giant hole in the ground if those engines don’t light up on time 😂
Completely my thoughts exactly.
More reactions please, 😂 this drives me crazy lol, also HOW DID THEY DO THAT, I loved this 😂😂😂
Does one of the most amazing achievements technologically that I have sent in my life and I’ve seen plenty In my 50 years
Awesome !!!
Lmao they were more prepared for failure than success
This is an engineering masterpiece.
Love it. Love it. Love it.
Das, Alex and Adrian sort of kept it together until they confirmed the catch was on, then they started to loose it. Totally brilliant 😂
This is, the most insane thing, that has ever happened
How did they did it?!? 😂 10/10 reaction
I HATE TH-cam shorts, but I'll give you a pass just this once. Epic moment. I was shouting the same things while watching on my phone.
I love you guys
That’s the 13……💥💥🔥🔥
OMG the sonic booms are super loud!! Wow
No words!
Absolutely brilliant! Ha, it's like something out of Duck Dodgers! This rocket is most impressive. Wow!
Freaking awesome
I was roaring so loudly you can't even hear the other 2 guys here
Could you post a video with their faces???
Still looks unreal
I knew spacex teams can do this😊
Now turn Boca Chica into Tracey Island and Thunderbirds are GO!
Do you think Elon Musk and the others watched "Thunderbirds" as children?Because this is how you get International Rescue.
Your did it Elon! 😂
PERFECT 🔥🚀❤🔥🚀❤
even china or russia can't make a rocket like this..good job space X..bravo america🎉
Madness
So beautiful
They even say it at the end, no way you gotta be kidding me, is this for real.. trolling us all.
Your move, China.
I think it worked...😉
Everybody came...at this moment...
This is some spore level shit right there, we are seeing human evolution in the process of becoming a space age species.
This is some EPCOT Center shiz circa 1980, except for real.
God bless America!
No kidding!
GPS is hella thing
YES WAY! LOL! Unbelievers!
While some billionaires from Hollywood make their country ashamed, others make it proud
Can we just get the audio of just the commentators reactions by chance?
What would've happened if it exploded bro I would've cried 😭
Still having problems with flaming engines I see. 😂New engine isolation seems to make it a localized affair at least. Wonder if that will be fixed by flight 6…?
Their reaction is great but you need to see EJ's it broke him not once but no less than 3 times!
like a George Pal movie
It doesnt rest on its grid fins...theres standoffs that are in view of the on-board cameras in flight

Would be nice to have a version where you can actually hear what they are saying…
Power of AI
a proposal to place a fire extinguisher shower on the launch mast to put out the fire on the engine
Let's see NASA do that with a Saturn 5.

0:40 Hot staging ring sonic boom?
It is really because it's recorded on a phone and you can see the camera was shaking, I believe it 🤦🏻♂️
That's not a phone. It's a webcam
@astranger8569 youre both wrong, it was recorded from a banana.
@SaltyGT yea I guess so, the starship banana
Elon stole the tech specs from Sheldon cooper.
Damn, they stole China's chopstick technology XD
Just remember this entire enterprise was brought to you from a free society!!! U.S.A.!!!!!
Pity we couldn't hear you lol
Its not sonic boom(725-800mph)
It was a sonic boom
Could you maybe add some warnings my ears are rn not hear
