Don't like the special cable either. PoE++ type 3 delivers upto 50W at the endpoint, use type 4 w/ 70W, or maybe just use TWO, still cheaper and easier than a proprietary one - besides how would you pull that with the plug attached?
Can basically do all this already and I do. Ups on a switch is cheap and easy, and easy to replace when it fails. Ubiquiti can't stock anything so I'd be concerned about parts.
Great video, sir! I appreciate your dedication to your TH-cam channel and how you make high quality videos to share with others 👏. On a side note, I’ll probably be contacting you privately to discuss consulting a bit for a WISP company that I started about a month ago. Keep up the good work! You definitely have me has a subscriber for life 😊

Speaking of reliability, I'm using a bunch of LITEBEAM AC5 GEN2 antennas and occasionally some of these antennas freeze up and don't transfer data unless I physically go to the site and hard reboot them. Does anyone know why this is happening?
They should update their gpon to xgspon. Or make FTTH sfp+ access switches. I enjoy their AP's but other aspects of unifi are weak af... I think they focus too much on "pointless" products such as the doorbell/door opening/ups stuff. They should focus on networking and become actually good at it. Overall quite disapointed with where ubnt is headed..
Cool ideas, but proprietary cable is a deal breaker for me ! I'll stick with Mikrotik.

I was waiting on it! Great video!
Wasn’t going to do it but then seeing your post made me :)
Are you going to do a UISP setup? I have a large campus with cambium PtMP and I want to see about doing a UISP as a replacement/upgrade.
Looks like some interesting products, I agree with you, I don't like the proprietary cable either.

@@Padaukers unfortunately not looks like it would be a fun couple of days
Thanks for the info! I'm missing 10Gbps ports on the new devices ... or at least 2.5 Gbps
Id like to see it in the Canadian store.

Hacking attempts or unstable power delivery. Usually there's an auto-reboot feature that i would set to for exxample once in a week
Proprietary cable is a hard no from me. Why not use standard cat6 come on ubiquiti.
It’s a power cable so using a cat 6 would not work. It’s how the outlet is that is proprietary on the device
I think a lot of internet service providers will get pissed off for theft of services.
Not really, real service providers use real equipment, this won't stand a chance in the real world environments.
Thanks
Proprietary.
Another day another raft of new products from Ubiquiti, and I wonder how the other products firmware is suffering as a result? Great video though.
