Same here, lol Also when one of us needs to know where one of our cars is it’s “Wheeeere is my AUTO-MOOOBILEEEE?” and you have to answer with: “Auuuuttttooo-mooooooobile?!” Yeah, my family is stupid, but we grew up on this movie and Iong duck d0ng is my frickin’ HERO! He is a legend! I love him in the movie “Gung Ho” too. 😎
7:34 the woman on the right is Joan Cusack. One of the most amazing women in the world. She was in my blue heaven. Yes John Cusack is also in this movie?… that’s Joan Cusack’s brother. They were in a lot of movies together in the 80s and 90s.
he recognized them both from somewhere… actually mentioned my blue heaven. this is such progress. jay wouldn’t have known any of these actors a couple years ago. baby steps are paying off! 😀
That is the best teen ending for any love-struck girl. It still brings a happy tear to my eyes. Sixteen Candles and Fast Times at Ridgemont High are my favorite 80s movies. That was my teenage era.
You gotta watch Pretty in Pink, another John Hughes movie with Molly Ringwald! You’ll love the character, Duckie, I already know lol your face every time neck brace girl came on had me rolling! 😂
Born in '71, i was blessed to start off on Hughes with "Mr Mom" & "National Lampoon's Vacation" scripts before he got behind camera as well. Hes second only to Kubrick for me as an 80s teen. But THIS will always be my favorite Hughes of all! "Toxic", "cringe", whatever tf kids wanna cry about today😅, I DON'T CARE! CRY, CRY, CRY!!! 🤗💕 80s were a fukn blast! ✌️🌎❤️
My Favorite Moments from your video, Jay: * 11:55 You rocking out to the music * Romulus' sleeping pose during the first half of the video * 36:44 "She gonna put you in the TV"
John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga (Princess Vespa from Spaceballs) were HILARIOUS in 1985's "The Sure Thing," directed by Rob Reiner (When Harry Met Sally, Misery)
Hey brother I just wanted to tell you I've been watching your channel for a couple of years and I've always looked forward to your reactions but I especially look forward to them now because I have stage 4 Pancreatic cancer that's already spread to my lungs so I'm extremely sick and your reactions always make me feel better. I'm gonna fight this cancer until the end but just know how happy your reactions make me. Thank brother I appreciate you
Yes thats a young John Cusack, and the girl with the head gear at the water fountain is his real life sister Joan. Another movie with both of them in it that I highly recommend is Grosse Point Blank.
John and Joan Cusak are siblings. She is wearing the neck brace that goes down her back to correct scoliosis. She doesn’t really have it, she’s just wearing it for her character. She was also the principal in the movie “School of Rock.”
Molly Ringwald and my mom looked exactly alike as. My mom had me really young and I can’t remember even in her late 20s people stopping her on the street.
My late father looked like Sylvester Stallone for years and people would stop him to get his autograph 😂. Later as he aged, people thought he was the "Get off my train!" guy from Ghost
I looked like Ricky Schroeder when I was a little kid, in 1979 right around the time of "The Champ"....that stuff happened to me a lot. Then I grew up and somehow wound up looking like Kelsey Grammer. When I was in a cab in NYC in 1994, with a couple of family friends, a cab driver freaked out and thought I was him and simply could not be convinced otherwise. Especially when the 10 year old son of my friend, thinking it was hilarious kept telling the driver I was Patrick Swayze not Kelsey Grammer....the driver was from India, he begged me for an autograph so i signed "To my friend Reyansh, all the best....Patrick Swayze" He was so thrilled. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I preferred my Ricky Schroeder era. 🫤
LOVED this movie when i young! we all used to wonder if we’d ever meet our jake ryan. 😢 some did, some didn’t. ces’t la vie. 🤷🏼♀️ regarding the grandparents, i think they were a combination of all older relatives that were mindlessly inappropriate with younger kids. the never-ending kisses and hugs grossed me the hell out! 🤢with some actually connecting if you didn’t turn your head fast enough. 🤮 and remember parents were right there and didn’t see a thing wrong with any of it; they encouraged it! so glad i grew up and started threatening bodily harm. check out “some kind of wonderful”. another lesser mentioned john hughes classic. peace jay! ✌🏼☺️❤
Idk if you've seen pretty in pink but it's also a very good movie as well as St Elmos Fire. John Hughes has his pick of actors he uses clearly but it works well in each movie imo
"Ain't this about to be rapey?" Uh, yeah . . . those of us who love this movie just kinda pretend that nothing actually happened there. (It's better than a lot of other movies at this time though, I'm talking to you "Revenge of the Nerds.")
Blank is currently moving across country so just for this week they're not doing lives. They're doing the usual new movies for Mon, Wed, Fridays but it's just not live. I think Tues & Thur they're just giving us a little bit extra for fun.✌️
@ I see thanks for the info. I thought they were trying pass this off as a new upload and thought well that’s kinda shady. Cause I watched this before. lol I get it though. Moving is awful. I never want to do it again.
We loved this movie when it came out. In hindsight, it contains so many terrible things that it doesn’t stand the test of time, although it did launch a lot of careers. It’s hard to believe how much sex, violence, drinking, racism, and consumption we were being sold as teenagers. Yikes…
No our reactions are still Monday Wednesday and Friday but we been putting back up all the reactions that got took down before on the other days bc a lot of people never seen them at all - J
I grew up loving pretty much all of John Hughes' work...but I would have to say that this one has not aged as well as some of his other movies...like Uncle Buck. The issue in this one is two fold...the first is Anthony Michael Hall's horndog character, and the other part is the Donger on multiple levels. There is obviously the horndog part of Long Duc Dong, but then there is also the way the Grandparents treat him. The film is still massively funny to this day, it is just much more a product of the time it was made, whereas some of Hughes' other stuff is just timeless...like the aforementioned Uncle Buck. LOL
To this day "The Donger need food!" is a quote we use in my house whenever one of us is hungry 😂
Any time I've had enough sex I say "no more yanky my wanky"
Oh no you don't
Same here, lol Also when one of us needs to know where one of our cars is it’s “Wheeeere is my AUTO-MOOOBILEEEE?” and you have to answer with: “Auuuuttttooo-mooooooobile?!” Yeah, my family is stupid, but we grew up on this movie and Iong duck d0ng is my frickin’ HERO! I can't remember if this channel has done Grosse Point Blank yet. They're so good together! 😂
...and Jessie, from Toy Story.
@5:17 “I ain’t talking talking about me. I’m not R. Kelly.” 🤣🤣🤣
I wish a mariachi band would play in the distance every time my name was said. Like the gong for Long Duk Dong but Hispanic ya know 😂
LONG DUCK DONG should have gotten his own movie... he had the best lines.
2:28 The little brother always kills me. At least he's honest. 😂
Hard to believe he was the kid from Kramer vs Kramer.
Fun fact: Jake’s license plate adds up to 16, also, is John Hughes’s birthday.
Yes, a young John and Joan Cusack.
Justin Henry who played Sam's little brother was already well known for his role in Kramer vs Kramer
"Where is my AU-TO-MO-BILE??"
Lake. Big lake.
[vroom vroom turning crash sound]
Lake. Hahahaha BIG LAKE
Ahahahahaha
I always thought he says “Wreck… Big wreck…”
@7:02 Big time kudos for recognizing Haviland Morris from Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Nice one Jay! 👍
Love this selection.
The pops, Paul Dooley, was also a charming dad in 1979's Breaking Away. Some major stars in that one as well.
That movie inexplicably never gets old.
"REFUND?!!!"
@@whs-waterfox7034 "PAPA!!" 😂

Long Duk Dong in the house!!!!!
Gedde Watanabe is a legend .
In the lake! BIG lake! 😂
I love that guy!!!

He was so funny in UHF. "Stupid!! 😂

My nickname has been Andie since 7th grade. Way before the movie came out
I love you know the song “True” and started grooving 😂 ❤

One of my top 10 favs! Thanks Jay for all the movies you've been putting out. You and Blank have been busy. ❤
1:30 a cute later John Hughes movie is Curly Sue with Jim Belushi and Kelly Lynch (Road House)

Just watched that again, probably been 35 years...
😃Great movie
Joan Cusack with the neck/back brace (to correct scoliosis) on is just too much. She is so funny. Love her.
the girl with the neck brace thingy is Joan Cusasks brother which he is also in this as Anthony Michael Halls friend.
name is Jon Cusask
John Cusacks sister Joan...there i fixed it.
@@MissOhio1980 lol thanks

They made fun of this on " The Family Guy ". Then again , no one escapes The Family Guy !!😂😂😂
"auto mobile 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" shit always cracks me up.

Yes thats a young John Cusack, and the girl with the head gear at the water fountain is his real life sister Joan. Another movie with both of them in it that I highly recommend is Grosse Point Blank.

This will always be one of my very fav movies. Nothing like 80’s movies. They’re the best!! Great reaction! Much love❤️
Thanks for bringing some laughter and positive energy to my day Santa.
Yes Pretty In Pink and Some Kind Of Wonderful. Both are heartfelt teen movies.
Man, the 80s teen movies resonated so much with us in high school Jay. Good pick, enjoy your flavor man
20:42 movie Gung Ho has this actor.-Ernie Moore Jr.
Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny" is playing in the background of the auto shop scene.
Dude! How did you not see this! 😮😆😆😆 Great reaction man.👍🏽

Just about every Gen X girl still has a crush on Jake Ryan.
Pretty In Pink should be next...
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION!!! J PLZ WATCH NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE next time
This how my little brother got his name. My little sister had a crush on Jake Ryan. LOL
Jake Ryan is ideal for sure ❤
Now you need to watch Central Intelligence with Kevin Hart and the Rock to see all the 16 Candle jokes and references lol

Who would have thought that such a harmless little nerd would grow up to hate scissor hands.
Ahhhhhhh!!!!! So excited. This is my #1 favorite John Hughes movie. ❤Jake Ryan ❤ I keep trying to make husband cosplay as Jake lol😂
Idk if you've heard of it but an underrated movie franchise comedy genre "Porkys"

This movie may not have aged well but it's still pretty good
Please do a reaction to Transformers One.

This is a reupload. I’ve watched this reaction of his before. Are they not doing premieres anymore?
Probably only on ones he doesn't have to reupload, will have premieres it seems

@ ah I see. Well I watched it again. 🤭
"Howd he rape her and wake up in a relationship"
Gee idk bc he DIDNT RAPE HER?
Does her own words and feelings not count for snything?
Every character in this movie ain't shit, which makes them all on the same level field. but it was my childhood.
John Cusack hates his origin story. Better Off Dead!
Please react to Movie 43
