New Tracks Laid - CA High Speed Rail Update, Downtown Fresno - Shoo Fly

I noticed earlier this week that Union Pacific crews were installing new rail over the Tulare St Overpass and the E. Ceasar Chavez Blvd Overpass. (previously named Ventura). So on my day off, I grabbed my drone and did a little fly over of the area.
Union Pacific was actively working in this area, preparing their former main line tracks, to run freight service again. I did not see any CA-HSR workers in this area, but it was a Sunday when I filmed this and I think most HSR workers are off Weekends.
The Union Pacific crew is part of a system traveling MOW gang, so they have a different work schedule than the local Fresno based MOW workers. System gangs typically work a set amount of days straight, then get a set time off 7-10 days, and repeat. The Railroad pays for their hotel and travel expenses, and I believe they get paid more, if they opt-out of the hotel. Which is why many times you see them sleeping in their Cars or Trucks, to make extra money. An example of that can be seen here in Fresno. Drive along Weber Ave, mid way thru the yard you will see a double fenced area, where many of the MOW workers stay.
I will come back here once they start to switch from the Shoo Fly over to the old main lines and do another fly over. I think that will be early 2025, but the guy I usually get inside details from who works for Union Pacific, on this project: is on Vacation for a few weeks. So at the time of me uploading this, I don't know when that switch might happen. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Fellow Railfans.

Like the MOW guy's getting rid of the form A speed restrictions on the Fresno subdivision. Too many trains cause that are heavy tonnage.

At the end of January, the Signal Department is rumored to be coming out to start installing the new Signals, in preperation to switch the tracks back.
