Glad they actually showed how Oxide was able to deliver his message. You could *kinda* see the camera that he was talking into in the original, but it's not exactly clear that thar's what he's doing. There's also no telling exactly where or how he was broadcasting his message. The PS4 version, however, actually shows Crash, Coco, and Cortex receiving the message through hologram. While it would've nice to see everyone else getting the message along with them, you can easily make the assumption that the three passed it on to their colleagues.

In the original version, Nitros Oxide claims that he will make them his slaves, while in the remake, he claims that he will make them his minions. In the original version, Crash is sleeping without being disturbed, while in the remake, he inhales a butterfly during his sleep.
Oxide even sounds angry when he threatens to turn Earth into a parking lot. Remake Oxide for the most part speaks very monotonously like a laid back, rich kid
Unpopular opinion ; I prefer Lex Lang as Cortex. He actually fits the cartoony design of Cortex and the over the top world of Crash Bandicoot. Clancy Brown, whilst a brilliant voice actor on his own accord (I do not deny this), I don’t think that. voice fitted Cortex’s cartoonish design. Just a matter of preference.
I will not fight with you, but I will adamantly disagree. I believe Clancy Brown brought a much more intimidating character which brought balance to the whackiness of the other characters and felt like a genuine threat.

Again it’s my opinion and I don’t mean to discourage you. However I will admit Clancy as Uka uka is very well suited.
Theres some stuff I will miss from the old intro like Oxide saying slaves and the little beat that plays when he's talking in his ship but the remaster is so damn clean. I LOVE IT!
This new look for these games is too.. cute... Even crash and the other characters. They're cute now. I miss that freaky, whacky, crazy look that Naughty Dog brought out. I understand we want to reach a broader audience, but it ties into what I've been saying about the adults upstairs and their perception of kids.
I agree with you. They totally changed the way the characters are portrayed. Crash used to be kinda more cool/edgy than he is now, he just looks too silly and goofy right now. He lost a part of his personality. Same with Coco. I really dislike this design choice. I kinda view her as a different character now. She's cute and adorable and as a separate character to the original games - I like that. But that's not the Coco I remembered. Especially comparing her to all the original games, and then the later ones like the Wrath of Cortex, Nitro Cart and Twinsanity. They just made her into a cute baby. I completed the whole N.Sane Trilogy. And after that, I just went back to the original games. Even tho I love the graphics, I just can't stand the changes to the characters. They are not themselves anymore. And I loved them the way they were.

It's not due to "technology". The characters look the way they do, due to the design choices VV and Beenox went for. I'm an artist myself, that's why I'm talking about the design of the characters - cause as an artist I can see that there's infinite ways the characters could have been done. And I'm not a fan of the way they did it. Nostalgia has nothing to do with this. I don't feel any nostalgia towards those games, due to finishing them countless of times. It's just something I like coming back to. And as I said, as an artist, I just don't like their design choices for certain characters.
And to put it into perspective, they didn't try to make the characters look and act identical to the originals - they adapted the characters to modern times, because that's what they had to do from the financial perspective. Crash used to act "cool and edgy" which is not what companies go for right now - characters tend to be cutesy and goofy nowadays, that's why they shifted towards this too, so that the series would be more modern. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just not a fan of that.

Oxide does not feel remotely intimidating in the remaster. I do overall love how it looks but I did really like Oxide's delivery in the original and the music they played. I don't really even care about the Minions/Slaves thing, it is just that Oxide feels so....I dunno the right word but he definitely doesn't seem like a threat.
The remake is a more lighthearted tone, since we already know what happens of it in the original. Furthermore in the past, low poly and low quality sounds definitely added to the creepiness
Ironically, the Oxide vibes in the remake is what the original Oxide was intended to be interpreted as. Goofy and strange alien. They accidentally made Oxide more creepy in the original, which kinda worked out anyway.
The bg music when Oxide tells them the conditions of losing in becoming slaves is so less threatening and sinister... Actually that bit is totally without melody in the remake.
I love how they matched the stages to the characters in the remake. Nice touch! :D I always thought that it looked weird in the original CTR intro. Glad they fixed it.

I love that Oxide was a joke character specifically meant to make people dislike him. Designed with the sole intent of turning people off the series so they could stop making Crash games........ We see how well that turned out. Now, another topic. I haven't played CTR. Ever. It'll be my first time with the remake. I was never a huge kart racer fan. I played some Mario Kart 64 back in the day, but once I moved onto Playstation, I just never bothered. I was always playing the Need for Speed and Test Drive games if I wanted some racing. PS2 came and went, I was playing Burnout and Grand Turismo. 360 came and went, I played Forza, Grid, and some others. Xbox One.... I eventually got Sonic All-Stars Racing for free, and it's a ton of fun, but the servers at this point aren't super active. So I didn't play it much. Again, stuck mostly with Forza, Dirt, (bc) Midnight Club, and a handful of others. Now, Finally, Crash Team Racing is getting a remake that comes out in a couple weeks. I've pre-ordered it, and can't...fucking....WAIT. I've actually been wanting a good kart racer for Xbox, but Sonic All-Stars was the closest one to something actually good, and it was dead. Looking forward to playing CTR for the first time. Let's GO!

Im lucky enough to still be able to play the original game with many of the same friends today. We are going to have a big session in a couple of weeks since we havent played in a few months so we can see how to remake stacks up and if its good enough to play over the original because it would be more convenient.
Now all they have to do is Remaster Crash Bash/Crash Bandicoot Carnival and they will have officially Remastered Every Crash Bandicoot Game released on the Playstation 1, and I'm sure that like what they did with CTR, they can bring in some Additional Minigames, Stages, Modes, and Playable Characters to Crash Bash.
