Steven's first comment is right: everyone's going to think "that's easy, I can do it". I thought that. I was wrong. Try it with a friend, without any practice...!
@@oldaccount537 indeed. But for some reason they only ever use three and five. Mix it up a bit, use three and seven or one and five so everyone has to keep track of numbers (no one will ever say a number because one is in there)
You have to scale this up! More contestants, more time... I would love to see these games as a regular half hour show with loads of contestants battling it out!
Alex Marshall I’m familiar with the theory, and it’s not generally accepted. Even if it was, for two bodies to be a double planet system, they would have to orbit around a barycenter that lies outside both bodies. The earth-moon barycenter lies within the earth. Look, what is and isn’t a planet is a game of semantics. From a certain point of view, we could actually have thousands of planets in the solar system, most of which would be in the asteroid and Kuiper belt. From another point of view, Jupiter should be classified as a type of star. Both are equally valid, but both would also make everything allot more confusing. Pluto isn’t a damn planet and it’s never gonna be, else there be chaos.
I don't know if it already exists but you could make an awesome app out of this, or maybe a Cards Against Humanity style game, and I'd definitely buy it
Just wanted to tell you how great i found this episode and the show in general. I think it seems like a lot of heart and effort went into making these and i really love that. The games are clever and very entertaining and the cast is very likeable^^To get to the point: Really good stuff! :)
+FlipFlopGaming I am from Bulgaria and I don't know what part of the population know it, but me and some friends play it quite a lot during long trips. However, we play one much more challenging version. It may seem that having two different words (Fizz and Buzz) makes the game harder, but having only one (we use Tsak [t͡sʰək]) increases the difficulty of keeping track of the current number. We also say one Tsak for each time it is divisible by the chosen numbers and also each time it contains that digit in itself. We usually use 5 and 7, so 75 is Tsak, Tsak, Tsak, Tsak. And also we switch the direction in which we are taking turns every time at least on Tsak is said (it doesn't matter how many).
metallsnubben Well the game is not really about the difficulty of saying a particular word, so there is no reason not to use another word. For us it isn't difficult because in our language (Bulgarian) all of the word's sounds are found naturally.
Awesome game. Crowd-fund and produce this as a "board game". I think it would do pretty well. Basically just need a timer of some sort and cards with multiples and lists to choose from.
I only know of fizz buzz from programming, had no idea it was an actual word game. This version of it really feels mindmeltingly difficult. I wondered at first what happens on a common multiple (Name both?) but uh...its hard even imagining getting high enough to worry too much about it.
What would you have done if they'd gotten to a number that's a multiple of both your numbers? I'm assuming you chose all largish prime numbers to make that completely infeasible, but in theory, would they have had to have named one of each, just choose one, or something else?
+Jim Cullen (Zagorath) 33 (3*11, the NATO alphabet and Shakespeare plays) is not entirely infeasible I'd say. Although you would start running a little low on NATO alphabetic keywords.
***** There's Romeo. And there's Juliet. However, there isn't a _Romeo and Juliet_. Still, saying either of those would be pretty impressive on-the-spot thinking!
+Jim Cullen (Zagorath) In "normal" fizz buzz, you'd say "fizz buzz" (or the two words you say on the appropriate numbers) at that point. I assume they'd have had to do the equivalent, ie say one thing from each category.
+Scott Lowe Modified double elimination: lose two games, or lose in the final, and you're out. It does mention it in the description, and we do narrate as we go, but it was a bit too finicky to actually try and put in the show!

This is probably my favourite game out of the ones presented yet. It's easy to understand the rules, requires no equipment and is *great* for spectators
In my gradeschool days, the rules for "Bing-Buzz" was a "Bing" for every multiple of 5 or containing a 5 as a digit, and a "Buzz" for every multiple of 7 or containing a digit 7
See now what all of them missed on that last round is that 3, 6, and 9 are all technically part of the NATO phonetic alphabet and are the easiest ones to get.
+Ror shach the NATO phonetic alphabet is a way to spell out words and numbers in a way that can be quickly learned even by non-native English speakers. 0 through 9 are part of that, since numbers are often part of identifications. For example, a plane marked EAG103 would be reported as "Echo-Alpha-Golf-One-Zero-Three".
+Henrix98 Not all of them but yeah... "Blair.... Churchill... no clue" and "Rio?... Olympia?... pretty sure I lost last round, but maybe Stockholm??... nope, no clue" "I've never seen a UK Monopoly board, but, uh, does 'Go' count?" "Did 'Winner takes it all' chart in the UK?... no clue"
What would happen if you landed on a number which was a multiple of both of the categories, would you have to answer both of them or would you have a choice?
Damn, this was awsome! I too, was so confused the first time, as to why there was a problem ^^ (Was rooting for Emma and when he said "fifteen" I just went "YES!" Steven's first comment is right: everyone's going to think "that's easy, I can do it". I thought that. I was wrong. Try it with a friend, without any practice...!
I love how, without context, it just looks like they're constantly questioning whether or not numbers exist...
Emma should've said, "Ten... Nessee!"
+Sir Oddy
Emma: Ten
*bzzt
David: No, ten is wrong
Steven: *gasp. Ten's a multiple of five
Emma: ...Nessee!
I never knew fizz-buzz was an actual game and not just a programming exercise.
I played it in primary school.

With the four different hair colours in the end screen, they look like a team of cartoon heroes. From a show I would watch religiously, of course.
My brain hurt even with looking at the screen. Top marks for effort to both contestants.
Dizzula they’re almost CMYK

+Andrew Martin I concur! I would love to see this expanded.
Ngl I love Tom's games so much that I hate the fact that they're one and done, one set of people, and then never again.
This is an absolutely fantastic game.
I agree, this needs to be real.
+Juil It is real. You just saw it...
Ole Kristian Sandum I mean in an official capacity, instead of people having to come up with all the categories every time.
+Juil you just watched it, either it is real or 30 thousand people are delusional.
+Juil I was thinking of trying to make a buzz quiz app
***** I agree, it looked really fun!
This game would be absolutely infuriating...
+Wordsnwood (Art Mulder) I am so going to try it with my friends.
+Tom Scott I like QuizBuzz! I can only imagine the hilarity if The Technical Difficulties played it.
Emma is right, Pluto is definitely not a miniature dog.
+naota3k He's actually quite large.
+Andrew Ryan The damn thing is smaller then our moon, and I don't see anyone calling our natural satellite a planet!

Of course he is not. He is a full-sized, orange cartoon dog!
