NYT Cooking, Please give Alison Roman & Samin Nosrat more videos, even if they just talk about cooking, they are both a delight & fun to watch in these hard times.
She is just the sweetest human ever made I love watching her I could watch her for ours I love her tutorials she is just amazing 😄 oh love you are not alone!! You have us!!:)
I love Samin! I didn’t know her until her docuseries on Netflix. She’s one of my favorites now. I like that she didn’t do fancy techniques for a comfort food.
You inspired me to get out my pasta machine. My parents used to make lasagna for all family special occasions with home made noodles. My Dad made a list on the inside of the box the machine came with each date and occasion. They’ve been gone years now so this makes me remember them and the wonderful memories. Thanks Samin.
Samin, it’s my birthday on Friday, and I’m on lockdown in Spain. We bought a pasta machine when this whole thing started, and I have yet to use it! I’m a decent cook, and have made many a lasagna-- but never my own noodles! I’m going to make this lasagna for my birthday with my daughters. Thank you for the push!
I love her so much!! I rewatch her Netflix show when I need be cheered up or feeling uninspired to cook/bake. I really hope there's a season 2 because there's so many more food stories that need to be told.
Samin, I can tell you are a joy to cook with and just generally be around. I’ve been a stay at home mom for 3 years now and was about to start a catering/food truck/cooking class business when this all hit. I’m fortunate enough to be in a place that hasn’t been hit hard, but moved here to be closer to older family members. I’ve moved my focus from gatherings to growing food for the people around me. Little gardens for everyone who has space to let me plant one. Hopefully, one day my seeds will bring us back together. Thank you for letting us into your space.
Why oh why does Samin not have her own cooking show? She is such a wonder to watch and learn from. I like it when experts are so very human. Her cookbook, her Netflix series, and truly every show I have seen with her cause me to stop and pay attention. Whilst paying attention, I smile grandly. She is a true treasure for us all. Stay safe everyone.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who always burns her mouth because she can't wait to taste her food! This looks amazing. I think because lasagne is such a process, a fun one, but still a process, it really shows people that you care if you make it for them. They'll know you put the effort in just for them. Next time I make lasagne, I'm making it exactly like this! Thanks Samin Nosrat!
i watched her netflix show, "salt fat acid heat" and she's such a joy to watch. I've never even considered making lasagna and now it's at the top of my to do list !
I loved this! My grandmother and her family came from Italy and settled in western PA. She taught me everything about real Italian food, and this is an authentic recipe that I know how to do and have made it for tons of my husband's family gatherings. I think this woman is FANTASTIC! I am surprised at her SMALL (NYC? apt). That kitchen seems WAY too small, she did well making this dish there! NYT if you have more of this woman on your channel I will watch more!!!
Yvonne Rahmes you should watch Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat on Netflix if you like her. It’s a great four part mini-series that she is the star of. It’s based on her cookbook with the same title. Each episode goes in-depth on one of the elements.
Samin is so fun to watch as she joyfully dances around her tiny kitchen! I could watch her all day! And night too! I will go right now and order her book! That lasagna looks mighty good!!’
I'm sending this video to my adult daughter who will be visting next month. We will make this together! I can't wait. Thank you Smain. Your book Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is revolutionizing my cooking! God bless you!
i’m not the biggest fan of lasagna but i loooove samin and her energy. i’ve watched this video so many times now and each time i’m getting closer to *actually* wanting to make it
One of my favorite humans! I just love watching Samin! I did it! Oh my goodness gracious, this is a recipe for the books! You’re the best! Thanks for bringing us joy during this time.
I’ve listened to Samin’s podcast AND now video! Yay! She is just such a delight. I could listen to her talk and laugh about food all day long...more videos, Samin, please. Also...please do more podcasts! I really enjoyed cooking in my kitchen while listening to you talk about food. Best wishes💐
Oh thank you, Samin. I love your style and your joy of cooking things that we can learn something new from. Thanks for your beautiful viewpoint. Happy 2021!
I have never used white sauce in my lasagna, but today I gave it a try, and I will never look back again. It turned out great. Thank you for your wonderful video!
Made this about a month ago. It took all day. But food that takes time and is made with love and intention is well worth it. I rolled my pasta sheets very thin which made them melt in your mouth in the finished product. The béchamel sauce was MF DELICIOUS and next time I make it I will triple the amount so I can drink some and also have some to use with leftovers. :) I assembled them in rectangular glass meal prep boxes, so they were the perfect size and easily stored in the fridge and freezer.
Came here to say that I made the big lasagna for my wedding. We invited 8 friends over and told them “dress nice for a fun dinner party.” Everyone showed up as I pulled it out of the oven in my wedding dress. Surprise! Everyone remembers the food at weddings, right? The best night of my life, can’t imagine it any other way.
I just made spinach lasagna (Mark Bittman's recipe) last weekend before I had seen this! I completely relate to what Samin says and feels about technology and how there is so much joy in seeing people's faces. I'm with you 100%, Samin!
Samin, you are the best! I loved everything about this recipe and this video, especially your commitment to powering through the lava-like heat of the bites you were having. I’m sure I will do exactly the same thing and any minor burns will surely be worth it for the deliciousness of this irresistible lasagna! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe, but, more important, your joy-filled love of food, cooking, and sharing both with others. You made my day with this video!!!
I will definitely make this. Being that this video was made during pandemic, I see why you had plenty of time to use all your love to make it. ❤ I do love your spirit!!!!❣️
I made this last night per her recipe on the NYT website and, as allowed, used store bought noodles. When I looked at the massive amount of vegetables going into this dish I was really happy to serve it to my family. My wife and all of our picky kids liked it a lot. It was the biggest lasagna I've ever made and had to put it in two pans :) Next time I'm going to use one of those large high-sided disposable pans. I think the white sauce, even though it seemed basic, made this lasagna different and better.
Love your honesty and your food Samin. Thank you for sharing with the world. Wish I knew you personally and was invited to your dinner party. I would bring a fabulous dessert.

Hey NYT cooking we need a tour of Samin’s kitchen please! 🙌🏻
Please
I mean you can pretty much see the whole thing
I think she did a kitchen tour on an Instagram live recently, maybe for Eater magazine.
Isn't that pretty much the whole thing we just saw her make a lasagne in?
Her energy and passion is palpable, and I just love her perspective
I love how all of the video editors for these cooking channels are including so many outtakes. That's really why I watch these videos...
She makes everything look so easy, she truly makes food art.

I really love the easy way She breaks down what she is doing so that even a novice feels confident to try it. Love it! Please keep it up.

Samin, thanks for being so easygoing and likeable with contagious passion for food and a good teacher.
This was the best lasagna my family and I have ever eaten. We shared it with some older "sheltering" neighbors. They loved it too! Thank you Samin.
Her eating this while it's still hot is so relatable. 😂
Exactly, I would do the same.
