In most of these cases I’m see, it’s just your tcm and ecm that sends your can in limp mode, under the carpet on the passenger side is your ecm, and driver side is your tcm. Due to poor weather stripping, moisture and condensation builds straight puddles underneath your floor board, go to the junkyard and pull them with matching numbers. It worked for my old Passat 3.0.
@@muffemod and it does require a software reset...something along the lines of VCDS scan and reset within the module! I have done a couple of these now and at about 100-125k miles the solenoids are pretty much shot, the valve body itself is generally still serviceable. The solenoids are creating the issue(s) of hard shifts, and slips between gears. AND always use manufacturer fluids in servicing.

I have an 05 jetta 2.0 it was leaking oil from the coolant box I got new seals for the bolts that go to the coolant box, changed the filter and fluid also changed throttle body a year and some change ago. . If that didn't fix it I'm gonna try this
Man I guess I’m going to have to try this. 06 beetle. Very hard shifting after warming up. The fluid didn’t look awful. I can’t believe you didn’t take your watch off😂 If I do this I’ll give you an update!
Thanks for the great video. My Jetta is doing the exact same thing. Can pin point the problem to when the step-daughter ran over a pothole and ripped open the oil pan. More than likely dirt got into the valve body and worked it destructive magic. Looks like a job I can do, not anymore complicated than jobs I have successfully tackled. Thanks again.
Would a bad/faulty valve body cause the vehicle to not move in any gear? I recently got a transmission DTC of P079500, it has me going crazy because I’m trying to figure out if the transmission needs to be removed to replace torque converter or potentially whole transmission.

My vw Passat 2007 has hard shifting when I accelerate hardly. But in normal speed it shifts good. Do you think it's because of valve body or solenoids?
How do I know if the Valve body needs to be replaced or the entire transmission? When would you recommend the entire transmission being changed or just a valve body replacement?

Hey I wonder if you have ever changed a valve body on a 2008-2011 rav4, awd, 4 cyl. I just dropped mine out(I had to in order to remove all the solenoids to clean them) I'm just wondering how the valves above it go back in, and there's a tiny black plastic piece with a spring and a small metal ball on the end, I'm not sure where it came from when i dropped the valve body out. If you have any advice id love to hear it.

I have a 2007 VW beetle and sure enough it hit 180000 kilometres and I was about to change the fluid and it started slipping it popped codes randomly that would sometimes disappear. P0731/732/. The service manual indicated the transmission fluid must be changed at 180,000 km I’m thinking maybe the computer push it into limp mode to force the tranny change? I can drive it but it won’t go past 80 km an hour and it slips on gears depending on whether it’s warmed up or not it really is not safe to drive right now but it is drivable. Any suggestions. I bought a $600 scan tool I figured it would pay for itself in a few uses and I got buddies that come over that are also into European cars I figured it’s a good reason for people to come over to come see me and talk about cars. Any advice would be much appreciated

I have an 05 Jetta had a coolant box leak and need a new seals for the bolts that hold it in place and while I was at I went ahead and changed out the transmission fluid and filter because the car stopped shifting it won't go into gear forward or backwards or even when I go through the gears manually
the scanner shows on my jetta 2006 2.5 5 cyl the speed sensor but it has the same problem. shifts hard after 10 or 20 min of use . what do you suggest ? should i start with the speed sensor ? or should i buy the valve body ?
Speed sensor is cheap and easy and if it’s throwing a code it needs replaced anyway. I had to change my valve body in my rabbit it showed no code on it but it fixed the hard shifting.
Hey thanks ! I got the car fixed unfurtunately i had to replace the valve body and speed sensor too. The good thing is i found a cheap used valve and its working good now!

I have 2010 va jetta, 2.5 motor. I came over hill and hit water about 40miles hr. It scared heck out of me. But I just kept it floored. It was up to hood. It sputtered but kept going. My brother looked and my casing and filter was gone. Please help what should I do
Hey I got a Jetta 06 2.0 turbo that I’ve brought off some dude in Craigslist. I’ve had the same problem of it shifting late when it’s been running and also the reverse goes out. Should I buy a new trans or replace the valve body. The car has 112k miles the transmissions shouldn’t go out that fast. Any recommendations?
if it were me, I would change the tranny and fluid at least three to four times. Look into changing solenoids first or valve body with solenoids. If when your car is cold and you drive it and it shifts through all the gears fine, it is more likely related to solenoid first then VBody. Good luck.
My 99 Jetta Mk3 only wants to go into drive, even in park. I turn the key to feel my vehicle jump forward, ready to take off, even the same for reverse and neutral. Couple days ago it didnt want to drive as if the trans just gave out. Turns out it was a brake cailber that locked up ( turned vehicle off in neutral before taking cailber off would not roll back freely, taking it off later that night allowed the vehicle to roll backwards ) any help is appreciated (:
I have a code error P0732 and my car will run fine once it warms after 5mins to 10. Couple shops told me I need a new transmission but I don't think I do could it be a computer system error or need new selenoid? Transmission fluid change? I never had it serviced sitting at 116k miles
I have a 2000 jetta 2.0 no turbo with 4 speed auto trans. When I bought the car it was rough had some extreme hard shifting. Replaced filter n fluids. Come to find that both of my cv axles were snapped clean in half. Just replaced the cv axels. When car is cold it will go into gears just fine but after warming up it shifts very aggressively in all gears. I have to have high rpms to get it to launch into gear and away she will drive leaving rubber n smoke on pavement and maybe a sprained neck. Someone please help me I'm exausted as to what the hell it is
I have a 2008 Jetta 2.5 and if I have to wait for it to get up to temp before I drive it or else it will shift hard from parking to reverse or drive. When I put it in drive I can feel it jerk when it goes from 1 and then to 2nd gear and so forth what I’m trying to say is that the shifts are rather abrupt when the vehicle is cold. Anybody else had this problem before?
Rivera I have same problem on my 2008 beetle. I changed oil and and fillter and it worked ok for about a year but now it’s doing it again I have 240 miles on the car maybe it’s time for new tranny???? Not sure what is wrong because some times it does not do it runs fine?
Try turning off the ESP and see if the symptoms go away. My wife's 2007 Jetta is doing the same thing, and I read somewhere it might "fix" it to turn off Esp.
@@manuelsarria1377 replace the oil again.. if gets better and comes back again, its your solenoids or valve body. One oil chnage is not enough.. more fluid in the torque converter that you cannot change by one oil change cycle
I have the same year and also 2.5l Jetta with the same problem, I took it to a VW dealership and they replaced the valve body and now the shift is much more smooth. Comes at a cost though!
Interesting to not show actually replacing the basic body, just pulling it. Yes, going back inn should be the reverse, but were there any issues that came up we should know about? I guess we assume there weren't since you didn't say so
Good afternoon. I would really appreciate your your advice .. so i m concerned i just installed used transmission which works fine and don't won't to mess up.. Recently I put 6qt TITAN ATF 1 with vw spec VW TL 521 62(G 052 162 ) in my VW Passat 2.0 T tiptronic fwd. 6 speed by mistake. I saw later that TITAN have the other fluid that exactly match with specifications for my model of car which is TITAN 4400 Spec VW G 052 990055 025. But both products are approved for VW Vw fluid from Dealer for my car has spec G 055 025 A2. Which I belive it match with TITAN 4400.. long story short I have flluid from b5 01m tramsmission in b6 09g transmission Should I drain it and replace right away with correct specifications or I can drive for a while with ATF 1 and then change to TITAN 4400 after a year . Whats the difference in this specifications and how important this is if both are approved for VW ? Thank you so much in advance any help so much appreciated Ivan

the valve body is what changes the gears in an automatic transmission and the gear selector (stick) that you choose is a manual, so you are the valve body in a manual !
Where can the transmission output shaft speed sensor be located on my 2012 vw passat
Output Sensor is above the Valve Body, towards the diff

My 2011 Volkswagen Jetta is not moving in reverse when I go into reverse it just Rams up
Hi! I'm stressing with not knowing on a 5HP19 auto transmission of Audi B6 3l V6 quattro. Which one is the shift selonoid A please...
Do you have any vids installing it
Question I have a MK4 jetta 1.8t transmission 09A I followed the video the install was not hard but the car will not move
While idling brake pressed I can shift thru the gears but the car will NOT forward or reverse Any suggestion
The good thing is i found a cheap used valve and its working good now!
how much was the installation?
I have a 2007 jetta 2.5
It was shifting very hard trust me when I say very hard I replaced the oil and filter(vw original brand) also add a bottle of
(Lucas transmission fix) and thank God the problem is gone
King Mike i spent around 400 dls for evrtything.
Fantastic, thank you!
I changed the VB, now Jetta won’t go in Drive. Only reverse and neutral
I have 2010 va jetta, 2.5 motor. I came over hill and hit water about 40miles hr. It scared heck out of me. But I just kept it floored. It was up to hood. It sputtered but kept going. I drove next day to my son's 40 mile. And then it started missing. My brother said new plugs and censor said foul plugs. But then my transition started slipping 4 days later. My brother looked and my casing and filter was gone. Please help what should I do
Tcu and ecm. I had to change bout on my passat
hi i nead wiring diagram for automatic gerbox for jetta 2006 2.5 conector with 14 pin can you help mee
Hi,
I have a 07 vw jetta wolfsburg, csn I do this on my vehicle?
I have the same car. Have you got any answers?
I did it on mine...the video is good, however there is more to it than the video actually shows!
Very good. Thanks.
Thank you for the video bro awesome
My mk5 fsi 1.6 gears doesn't want to change it's an automatic
I have a code error P0732 and my car will run fine once it warms after 5mins to 10. Couple shops told me I need a new transmission but I don't think I do could it be a computer system error or need new selenoid? Transmission fluid change? I never had it serviced sitting at 116k miles
I’m at 113k and it was my solenoids with that code
My 98 is showing a po763 shift solenoid c. I need help
Thank u guys
hello I have VW pass at 2012,
after 7,8 hours driving when transmission hot my transmission bun. what can I do? thanks
Can anyone here tell me where the the transmission speed sensor is for a 2007 Jetta 2.5, thank you for your help
Did you ever find out? I have this exact same model, same problem.
The lead with the two orange wires is the speed sensor...www.dropbox.com/home/09%20valve%20body%20bolt%20pattern?preview=20191014_125221.jpg
I have a automatic 1.8 and it kicks in hard in 3gear could my tranny be bad
yes
My 06 beetle is doing the same thing shifting too hard. :/ will be taking it to a mechanic very soon.
how many miles on the Beetle?
Please make another tutorial about valve body GEELY EMGRAND EC7. Please many peoples has problem with engrand 7 valve body.
Was that a paper filter or metal screen?
I have a 2000 jetta 2.0 no turbo with 4 speed auto trans. When I bought the car it was rough had some extreme hard shifting. Replaced filter n fluids. Come to find that both of my cv axles were snapped clean in half. Just replaced the cv axels. When car is cold it will go into gears just fine but after warming up it shifts very aggressively in all gears. I have to have high rpms to get it to launch into gear and away she will drive leaving rubber n smoke on pavement and maybe a sprained neck. Someone please help me I'm exausted as to what the hell it is
Also throws a code of incorrect gear ratio p0730
Cameron Gergits did you ever find out what the problem was I’m having the same problem and code with my 2002 Jetta 2.0
What was it
I have a 2008 Jetta 2.5 and if I have to wait for it to get up to temp before I drive it or else it will shift hard from parking to reverse or drive.
@@jacob6426
How much did it cost you?
My 2007 Jetta has problem too
What transmission (tranny make, model, part number, code, etc) is this about?
Interesting to not show actually replacing the basic body, just pulling it. Yes, going back inn should be the reverse, but were there any issues that came up we should know about? I guess we assume there weren't since you didn't say so
Jarod Morris w
Also don't you need to add the new valve body and install with a torche wrench.
@@tonytrilex2555 and preform a adaptation...other wise the computer will control the valve body just as it had been prior to the replacement!
@@kirksunley1381
Do I need a special tool for adaptation?
Hi, I took my valve body down but I CAN'T find a gasket
It comes with the filter when you buy it
The gasket is in between the valve body and where it meets to the transmission it’s a very thin long sheet almost looks like paper
Good afternoon. I would really appreciate your your advice .. so i m concerned i just installed used transmission which works fine and don't won't to mess up.. Recently I put 6qt
TITAN ATF 1 with vw spec VW TL 521 62(G 052 162 ) in my VW Passat 2.0 T tiptronic fwd. 6 speed by mistake.
I saw later that TITAN have the other fluid that exactly match with specifications for my model of car which is TITAN 4400 Spec VW G 052 990055 025. But both products are approved for VW
Vw fluid from Dealer for my car has spec G 055 025 A2. Which I belive it match with TITAN 4400.. long story short I have flluid from b5 01m tramsmission in b6 09g transmission
Should I drain it and replace right away with correct specifications or I can drive for a while with ATF 1 and then change to TITAN 4400 after a year .
Whats the difference in this specifications and how important this is if both are approved for VW ? Thank you so much in advance any help so much appreciated
