- The Jeep Gladiator has one major drawback for what I intent to do with it. I have tried a couple of solutions, but they just aren't meeting my needs. So today we are going to fix this once and for all!

Really thought the biggest issue you'd mention was fuel range! Was thinking this would be a long range america install or something like that. The cap is cool though!
Securing fuel in the box has been a big issue. A long range tank is still on the horizon but it has to be custom.
I built my Gladiator almost 2 years ago, and included both the Decked drawer system and the Alu-Cab Contour canopy. Zero regrets on either one. I know that the drawer ’wastes’ some space, but I have no plans on packing so much stuff that I need every cubic inch available. Since I also added the Goose Gear rear seat delete kit, that’s where my fridge & Anker battery reside, so still tons of space for all my camping and recovery gear in the back. Dumping the Decked would create a need for many, many bags & boxes, and would be way less convenient to access. No chance it’s going away. BTW, I recommend the Alu-Cab table that stores inside the rooftop. It’s a great table, and out of the way while traveling. Thanks for posting!
That looks like a really cool cap for your jeep. Gladiator and a tent looks pretty cool as well. Looking forward to the rest of the install and organization. Congratulations.
Great addition to a great truck! Nice work Casey
Thanks!!
Looks good! the bed rack looked good on there, but the cap makes good sense for what you do.
I've got some Metalcloak pieces that can still go in the bed now the Decked is coming out 🙂
Truck looks awesome dude! Nice addition
Thanks!!
Man that sound 🤤 Long term our goal is a Hemi conversation for our Gladiator but can’t justify the massive increase to do the Demon. Here in Aussie it’s over 100k
I bought the same tent from the same cap it store 3 weeks ago and im impressed so far! Ive been out in it every weekend so and heading out tomorrow again. Hope you like it.
Great to hear!
Looking good and can't wait to check it out at OE PNW!
Sweet changes!
i was almost positive you were going to get a canopy camper.. maybe next time. ;).. Love mine.. i do need to try out a set of Dobinson springs to try and level out the stance.
Nice I like that cab
Looks Nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
A Roof Space roof top tent would fit really well on your bed rack and you wouldn’t have the odd bit overhanging
We will see 🤔
Hey dude, what is the best bang for your buck, hardshell, 4 person tent in your opinion?
have to say alucab makes the best gear, wish the alucab canopy camper was cheaper... the exodus 4x4 fuel tank might be option if there willing to ship. westcan overland could prolly do up the rear drawers.
Happy Father’s Day!
Thanks. You too. (I'm slow on comments )
@@Casey250 np, appreciate what you do for Overlanders and off road community. Thank you
Nice addition. Are you going to be at the PNW Overland?
Lol, you answered my question towards the end 😅
Nice looking cap!
Thanks! See ya at PNW!
@@Casey250 for sure. About to start planning that trip this week. It’s getten close.
Ya. Working on schedules now too lol.
I went down the bed rack route... I wouldn't say I had any specific problems with the rack. I just much rather have the larger, covered, secured storage area. I've been shopping caps for awhile now and I'm definitely leaning towards the Alu-Cab. Also not real impressed with some of the caps I'm seeing going on TH-cam Gladiators recently... things like exposed hinge hardware just don't seem acceptable to me. Whereas clearly Alu-Cab put a lot of design into those elements.
Alucab is top tier for sure.
Nice video! I just felt like a couple times I was watching an infomercial😂
Thanks. I'm retooling the edit style a bit. But videos are usually based on reviews here so trying to figure that out for a vlog
@@Casey250 I'm curious why you would go with the 800w EcoFlow charger for $600 vs getting a Pecron 500w for $150. That's still more than plenty to keep your devices going. I bet that would also satisfy Shaun from TSTN
I have a Victron in the Wrangler. If you combine the both you can get 1100w of charging :) I like the trickle charge and jump start function as well. Ecoflow is a sponsor so I try and review the products and tell you guys how they work out.
love my alucab! the new version you have has so many upgrades that make it better than the competition! Functional stuff like putting the molygrid on the back window, and brackets now for the inside lights. go with the flush mounts for the alucab crossbars. the lower the tent and make it more flush
Ya. It just makes swapping roof top tents harder for me with the low mounts. I'll see how it goes.
Casey, have you put your truck on the scale loaded for a trip?
Nope. Lol
Looks like some HD rear coils might be in need. I’d go Clayton.
Or take the 400lbs of extra stuff out that I was transporting home 🤣
I’m honestly curious which is better between the alucab cap and the smart cap
One weighs a lot less. The rest is design preference I feel.
Nice addition. Are you going to sell the old rack?
I will be yes. And the decked
would be amazing if you can do a review on that Khaya alu cab . fully loaded one that seats two if there is one available pretty please and thanks
I wish it worked with a Gladiator.
@@Casey250next year hopefully i'm either ordering a 2026 Tacoma or a Ford f250 ( flat bed) . so these will deff fit lol.
I may of test drove a new f350 😍😍
I knew you'd join the Canopy Team eventually.
Lol.
Is the alu cap slightly taller than the cab of the gladiator? It looks like it might be?
It is
I drive by this Cap-it location once per week to empty that blue bin you see in the background in my garbage truck. Didn't realize they had retail floorspace here. And I'll see you at PNW in a couple of weeks
Stop in and say hi and check it out.
Why not run the alternator charger into the bed since you've got the cap now? I just ordered one and that's my plan. Hope the cable is long enough...
I will keep the Delta 2 inside the cab.
1:18 you ain’t gettin’ 82km range driving like angels 👼 are chasing your Demon 😈
True that.
Did you end up installing a larger fuel tank?
No
Why not get a canopy with an integrated tent?
I can't test roof top tents well that way.
@Casey250 makes sense if that's what you're doing. Well let us know. The Alucab mod cap would be interesting since it's all modular too
It's on my radar but maybe for the next build
Almost makes me want to trade in my Wrangler for a Gladiator. Looks good Casey.
I'm coming around on the Gladiator but it is more money and needs more extras to do what I need. Like a canopy.
Timestamp 12:10
10 minutes into this video so far, and I'm not sure what it is actually about... it's this an infomercial? Can I get paid for watching?
I tried to explain it in the first minute of the video. I will work on that for the future.
@@Casey250I haven’t been watching much recently so I couldn’t tell from the thumbnail but just watching the first few minutes I could tell. You also said what you were going to do. I just had fun watching while making some garlic French bread toast w/butter and drinking some Pineapple-coconut coconut water
@Casey250 sorry man, I like your videos. I was feeling salty.
🤜🤛
I thought your biggest problem was your turning
Seems like a lack of hydro assist was the biggest problem...
Depends what I'm doing. But gear storage is a problem every trip.
I think your truck weighs 2 ton(ne)s
