    I grow that orange cosmos. I planted one packet of seeds 5 years ago. they drop seed easily so you dont have to re-sow. I believe these are called bright lights. they are easy to dig up and transplant too. I mine get over 5 ft tall and wide. I have to cut them back because they will take over in my area.

      That's cool. I have orange cosmos the variety is "sunset orange". They don't get any higher than 2'. I live in the north, very little reseeding here with any of my annuals.

      @@PrettyPurpleDoor Oh I need the sunset orange cosmos. It would be nice to have shorter varieties like that.

    So many blossoms on the coneflowers!!!!! Wow!

    Pink hydrangea = alkaline soil. Add espoma soil acidifier and your blooms will go blue. (Purple if not quite enough soil acidifier.)
    I've found it a tough season for my garden. Either not enough rain, but too much humidity (for days on end); or too much rain then humidity (again, for days and days). Overload of fungal disease. Zone 5b/6a, Massachusetts.

      Hello thanks for the tip. My soil is actually quite acidic. I believe it was the starter fertilizer that caused the pink blooms. Either way, it looks nice. I don't like to fiddle with the soil 😊

      Sam here when it comes to fungal disease, Ann! Zone 7a. Started a garden this year and was worried it would not survive - it did better than I thought but had to be on top of the fungal disease constantly.

      @@AshWP are you treating your fungal issues? If so, what have you been using?

    I really enjoyed the tours of both your back and front yards. So much variety! I'm inspired to plant and learn about more than just the basics... I dont want my yard to look like everyone else's. Its also nice to see the things that are still in progress, it helps me be more patient. Very nice!

      I'm glad you enjoyed. It's definitely a process and takes time for plants to fill in. Annuals are great to supplement your space as your perennials grow in. And you can swap them in and out to change things up. Tons of articles on my website and I also have a course that will guide you through the process if you're interested in that prettypurpledoor.com/course

    😆 I had to laugh because my artemisia is huge and I’m wondering if it’s easy to divide. Brand new here and enjoying your videos 👍🏻

    WHAT IS YOUR GROWING/PLANTING ZONE PLEASE?

  • @AshWP
    @AshWP 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thanks for sharing, Amy. I have 2 sad looking blue junipers that I was going to chuck, but I love your juniper/coneflower combo and would love to recreate it - we shall call it the “Amy corner” :-). My coneflowers this year (store bought) didn’t survive due to fungal disease so good to see seed-grown plants thriving - planning to grow from seed next year. Also adding globe thistle to my list - they have character! And I absolutely adore your nap chair - could you share closeups or more details?

    • @PrettyPurpleDoor
      @PrettyPurpleDoor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed. You may want to try artemesia silver mound instead of junipers for a similar combo. But I love the Amy corner idea!! Haha too funny.
      I got the chair at target. Isnt it lovely? I can't share pictures in tbe comments here but you can see it at this link photos.app.goo.gl/eYe2drnnDbuY1qqU8

      @@PrettyPurpleDoor Ah! Artemisia is a great choice - I am in love with how soft they are too!
      How smart linking a photo link - haha. Thank you for sharing. It is so inviting - much better than a chair hammock !! I’ll look for it at Target - thank you for sharing and look forward to other videos. Thanks Amy!
