- Alasdair Cameron spends most of his time designing gardens for other people via his company Cameron Landscapes & Gardens, but his own rural plot in Devon exerts a strong pull. Over a decade, he has transformed it from farmyard and field into a charming family garden that feels rooted in its rural landscape. ‘The aim was for the garden to melt seamlessly into the landscape, using borrowed and framed views to enhance the atmosphere,' he says. Here he and his wife Tor give us a tour of the gardens, from the new meadows to the productive kitchen gardens.

As an Aussie backpacker I worked for Alasdair in Chelsea circa 2000... great to see this garden and funny that I am watching it on my own little farm with similar elements. A lovely garden and inspiration. B
What strikes me that in England there are so many men interested in gardening, here in Norway it is the total opposite. I find it very interesting.
Living in a city I long for an escape to the country one day & look out to wild flower meadows & greenery. This was a beautiful reminder of how wonderful life can be. The horse at the end was such a treat.

The garden looks beautiful. BUT I can't believe it's low maintenance or that any flower borders look after themselves. In my garden weeds look after themselves and help themselves to any spot of soil hahaha! To have such neat rows of parsley the owners probably need to do weekly weeding.
I wanted to see the house

Do you all have ticks? Where I am the meadow would be full of ticks and I couldn’t really have it.
