Can You do a drone to watch betty? Maybe she was trying to fend off a snake? I hope her eggs are safe. She may start laying a new nest if a snake got the eggs.
Dutch, you always have such a nice smile and fantastic attitude even in bad situations. I'm anxious to see Betty's nest and eggs. Blessings from San Diego.
Look out for that cord with the male plug hooked to a breaker. We called one like that a suicide cord. Really dangerous if you forget to not turn the breaker off and momma or one of the girls or dogs touched it not knowing any better. Like the progress on the house. God bless.
For what use it is there was a poultry farm just down the road from my Uncle's place that kept some pea fowl. Now and then when something got to close to a nest the pea hens would do what they called a "bomber run", gliding through the air and shrieking like a banshee. The lady that owned the farm said when a pea hen runs something off her nest, they want to be sure it's run all the way off. Once the hen gets airborne, she will follow whatever bothered her nest. If it doesn't run fast enough or tries to go back to the nest, she will drop down from the sky and land on it like a nuclear missile. My Uncle told me if you ever see a flying pea hen, you need to stand under something because you don't want her to mistake you for whatever got her mad enough to fly.
We are in Southern Arizona and a few years ago in June we had to replace our roof and literally could only work from 5 am to about 8:30 am other wise it was well over 105 with our monsoon humidity.
You and your family are building your home the right way. I don't believe you will ever regret building as you can afford it. Your family will be set up far better economically doing what you are doing. Congrats and keep up the good work.
Looks like you’re making progress on the house👍🏻. But it’s a great idea to slow down when it’s that hot 🥵. Glad Betty seems ok now! Looking forward to seeing the solar system panel working well! That way it’s one really important item crossed off the list 😊! I’m curious about the porches, so I’m looking forward to seeing those also😊. Thank you for sharing, take care, find a cooler place🤗💕!
Something really stirred Betty up. Guess we’ll never know what happened, hopefully the nest is ok🤞🏼😊 The heat makes everything harder🥵 Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
I'm thinking that Bobby got too close to her nest and she took off to distract him from getting to her and her nest. You said he been looking for her. God bless and stay safe. 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I had some peacocks but they got stolen and they do love dog food they reminded me of guinea hens they'd let you know when something's around keep up the good work Dutch enjoy the videos
The house is coming along very well. Keep hydrated. While everything is still open, may I suggest you install a Whole house fan. I installed one and it helps cool the house off great. I ope the windows and turn on the house fan in the morning and evening and sometimes I don't even have to use the AC.
I think Betty was drawing a preditor away from her nest. and she was giving herself a dust bath in the driveway to help keep mites and fleas and such off herself.
I hope Betty's not upset because something got to her eggs or babies? I pray you find her nest so the babies have a chance!🙏 Love watching and yes WFF love those WAG bars! I might have to try them! Love ya all and take care and please everyone stay safe! God Bless!😊❤🙏
Earlier in our relationship we went through multiple forms and lengths of the "todo" list. Then the other half actually asked for one about 20 items long. January rolled along and I was asking/ exclaiming why every project cost close to $100. The other half showed me his "gt" and "nt" notations beside each item on the list. The stood for got-tool and need-tool. He had been happily working on the need-tool ( bits, etc...) items based upon the tool he wanted next.
Snake, our landlord has chickens, ducks, peahens, etc and we have to lock them at night because the snakes crawl under the gate or come up from the river and go straight for the eggs. We also live where there are rock monitor lizards so they are also an issue with the eggs mostly. Hawks are the only thing that bother the chicks and they will snatch them up right in front of you.
Back in the day I helped my then husband do electrical and my favorite job was to use the right angle drill to put holes in the studs to run the wires through. Those drills are awesome!!
Use the higher amp hour batteries on the right angle drill as it will power the drill better and longer. If possible, try to terminate your vent pipes through one penetration of the roof, that way you eliminate the number of future potential leaks.
Maybe there was a snake after her eggs (Betty that is). I absolutely love your channel. I've been watching you all for about 2 years now and enjoy following your journey to being off grid. My favorite animal on the farm is Gabby. Sure wish she was able to have puppies cause I would of drove all the way from Michigan to Oklahoma to get one of her babies. But I know she can't so have to be satisfied to just watch her and Gracie keep your family and animals safe. God Bless you all and be safe.
Betty could have been luring a predator away from her nest ! Some birds do . The piggy's looking good ! Looking forward to the build . Did you think about a wood stove in reserve just in case transportation is in question ? Deisle is getting pricy !
Glad Betty is okay. I hope she has her eggs well hidden. Bobby looked so relaxed in the shade. There is a lot going on in your home. Electric, plumbing and soon the porches. Bless you all.😍
I think Betty was playing the injured bird card to lure something away from her hide. She was making noise to attract the attention of whatever it was that may have found her out, be it raccoon, opossum, or snake. I hope the weather cools down for ya'll, you could use a break. Love ya'll ❤️
Good evening Sean👋, looks like some excitement going on. Poor Betty hopefully what ever scared her has moved on. You hit everything head on which is great getting things done correctly. God Bless you, Brandi & the girls for doing what you are doing. It keeps life interesting. Your family's team work is getting things accomplished. Love your homestead life thru your eyes. Take care & maybe some little peacock baby's sometime. God Bless 👋🌻🙏❤✝️
Dutch have you put an out lit out side how is your brother doing now that so many birds were killed he has worked so hard to get his farm going god bless him an ur. Family’s love hamburger gravy
Hey Dutch, I just wanted to let you know that I had to resubscribe to Dutch Eats so you may want to mention that to those who think they already subscribed. Love both channels! God bless!
A converter has an baseline where it will operate. If the battery storage goes near or below the baseline then an fault indicates it went under. Say with what you have you are using for the solar system is more watts then your battery storage. Then the battery storage will always drop easily under what the converter baseline is. Then what you need to do is figure out what posable watts you will be using. Add an little extra. That's you battery storage you need. Then do the same with your solar panels. Yet as you said. You know your max input from the solar panels your system can handle. If maxed on solar panels. Then just keep adding an battery here and there until you have enough storage to handle everything. If that's doesn't work. Upgrade your controller so it can handle more solar panels or just knock down your usage of the system. The system I choose. The converter and controller are separate. My converter for an example is 5000 watts at 500 amps. Since for now only for my shop. My batteries I have is way tomany ah hours although I am not out there all the time. Then I bought only one panel at 398 watts. Inturn gives me enough ah if I chose to work out there at night and during the day the batteries can charge back up. Your owners manual should say what is the lowest voltage your converter can go down to. My opinion is start there.
Glad Betty's ok. Hope the nest is too. Time will tell. Sure love watching you and the videos about building the house. I'm looking forward to seeing that beautiful stove built in. I'm excited! Thank you Dutch and family! God bless you all!!
Well I hope you all find Betty’s nest and things are just moving right along so happy the pig is better as well so can’t bc wait to see how much more you progress❤️❤️🙏🙏🌈🌈🐖🐖🐕🦺🐕🦺🦮🦮🐓🐓🦚🦚🐷🐷🫐🫐🫑🫑🌶🌶🥒🥒🥕🥕🧅🧅🍇🍇
Sometimes if there will be danger around birds will try to lure the attacker away from their nesting area. Those momma birds will try to get the predator to come after them instead of eggs or a nest.
At high-noon, put a diet Mt Dew can on your solar panel. If it does not cast any shadow, then you have the panel pointing directly at the sun. That will get you the most power. Maybe put the 90 degree drill on 1 speed instead of 2. More torq. Nice job. Thanks for sharing
Enjoy all of your home building videos , like seeing the progress you are making , nice you can do so much of the work yourself. My husband did a lot of our building on to our home saved us a lot of money. Take care .
Sean (aka) Dutch I noticed something on your wiring that looked wrong the Green wire is for your grounding rod and the white wire is the neutral wire for the black wire and the black wire is the feed wire for 120 volts and if you have a red wire it is used for a secondary feed wire of 120 volts. Just something I thought you might have wanted to know.
Hopefully nothing got Betty's eggs. Looks like you've got a good bit done to the house. Like you said slow and steady wins the race. Hope you get the problem with the solar system worked out. Glad you started back with Dutch Eats. Hope Vincent has good luck processing the chickens. Take care and stay safe out there. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
Hey, Sean! I did go over, after you said something about the cooking channel, and I subbed and rang the bell. Of course, I watched and liked the video. I can’t say as I blame y’all for stopping early. In this heat, it wouldn’t be good to continue to get hotter and hotter. I was worried about Betty’s nest, but, you are right, she wouldn’t go back to it if it had been raided by something. Prayers and Blessings always
The house will be so nice when you can move in. It will seem like a palace after being in the trailer. Hope you put in a wood stove in case all power fails. They are cozy and great for cooking if needed.
Hey Dutch on your electric box do you have each neutral wire on it's own connection or do you have them all connected together? Many people make that mistake, they should all be on their own separate connection.🧡🧡🧡🧡
I live in West Utica, lol. The Boiler Maker is happening soon, and I just moved to an apt that gives me a perfect view of the last 1/4 mile and the finish line. I don't have to wade through crowds of ppl or anything. Grab a chair, put my butt down and cheer on the runners ( and NO waiting for a portapotty lol).

Peppermint keeps one cooler, add to water and wipe on peppermint castle soap also keeps mice away, also for Pol who can't breath inhales order helps

Sounds like you could use a new drill bit. I switched out bits recently and it made a big difference.
That was new out of the box
Hi Dutch.
Hey Dutch. Try setting up a 2 or 3 trail cams in that area and see if you can catch her on them and zero in from there.
love you too Dutch and brandy and the sweet girls hugs glad you are coming along God Bless you and your family

Put a couple of trail cameras out where you think Betty might be nesting. It could help you from just crashing in on her.
