CTA Blue Line from Chicago O’Hare Terminal 2

  • Today we are in Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) walking from Terminal 2 to the CTA Blue Line.
    Terminal 2 is arguably one of the worst big airport experiences in the USA. Low ceilings, outdated decor, long, narrow hallways with very small waiting areas by each gate. There is also very limited selection of food and shopping to pass the very limited time I would want to spend here waiting for a flight. Once you escape from the gloom and doom of Terminal 2, the rest of the airport is actually pretty nice. There are indoor passageways that keep you out of the elements, which in Chicago can be quite abrasive. Along the way we pass the baggage claim and the Hilton before reaching the O'Hare Blue Line Station.

    Dude! Go easy on Terminal 2! It’s old school & it’s nothing more. Been to Newark? ‘Nuff said!

      @@ChristopherBravataCode yes LaGuardia is one of the worst airports in the country. Before the long overdue remodel it was very outdated

    Thanks for doing this! The only thing I might add to the uninitiated visitor is that not all Blue Line stops have an elevator. So, if you are lugging big luggage, either research the stops with accessible elements or be prepared to haul your suitcases up stairs.

    Definitely looks like your typical airport, it looks easy to navigate which is something I can't say about many airports in the US. Still think my favorite airports would be Denver and Atlanta, very cool designs and Atlanta is starting to look a lot airports you see in Europe and Asia.

    6:48 Give that flag a salute, folks. Who would ever have thought that Ukraine would be capable of going toe-to-toe with Russia for 15 months now when the war started, let alone have been kicking Russia's butt for the past 15 months?
    Ukraine is one bad-ass country and we need to continue supporting them!

    Good video! Regarding T2 at ORD, keep in mind that it is the one (of three domestic airline terminals there) which houses the non-hub, (or spoke) carriers. Airlines spend much less money at their spoke airports, than at their hubs. United has its hub in T1, and American in T3. They've both spend many millions of dollars to upgrade those terminals, and they're really nice. Just FYI.

      @PrincePaulIowa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s informative but how can this airport or any other non-hub (for major airlines) terminal get remodeled/renovated? I guess thats why Atlanta Hartsfield is nice!

      @randomcontentgenerator2331 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PrincePaulIowa If a terminal is really that bad, the airport will take care of it. O'hare is getting completely renovated in the future, which I believe will involve the complete destruction and replacement of T2. www.archpaper.com/2020/09/will-the-8-5-billion-ohare-expansion-be-delayed/

    The journey from airside to the Blue Line seemed longer when I was a kid in the 90s. My mom would take me to O'Hare to look at the planes coming and going for fun and it seemed to take ages to get from the station to the windows to see the gates like 20 some minutes. I guess as a kid I was impatient so that's why it seemed to take longer than it actually was.

    Yup I used work out there, due to no public restrooms at cta. I would take the blue from rosemont to ohare for a pit stop and get back on to go home. Also T2 has a chapel which I used for holy days if I couldn't get home in time, also there is uso for service members.

    • @timmmahhhh
      @timmmahhhh ปีที่แล้ว

      The easiest thing to do would be to take the blue line to the Clinton station, then walk three blocks north. If you want to see the city and you have a little time, get off at Jackson and walk west for 15 minutes. The latter way will take you past Willis (Sears) Tower and across the river, much more scenic if the weather isn't too bad.

      Sorry if I read this comment again. It sounds like you're going from Union station to O'Hare. In which case do what I said before but backwards, lol.
