Thanks for your reply. Flight now completed and it was brilliant. My connecting flight from LHR docked 5 minutes after the flight to SIN began boarding, and I was onboard the beautiful A350 with 20 minutes of having landed, as priority had already boarded.
I found the seat wonderful; it exceeded my expectation. I really enjoyed it. The crew were simply exemplary. It was all male and led by a wonderfully enthusiastic, fun CSD. I'd say it was better than Qatar's crew because they seemed more genuine. The food was wonderful. The two hors d'oeuvres were small and so imaginative. Michelin standard. The main course, pre booked, was delicious and the cheeses exquisite. I enjoyed two films on the ICE. Breakfast was again excellent. My only whinge was the cabin temperature was too high for my liking and there are no gaspers to give air flow. Nonetheless, I managed about 5 hours sleep so that was fine.
I'm a convert now to Finnair. Checking out other destinations.

I'm off from HEL to SIN tomorrow and watching this video enhanced my trepidation. I like the fact that Finnair uses Airbus, so enhanced safety, but my journey with them in 2018 to and from BKK was not good. Food was actually ok, but service was unbelievably slow. I was in row 4 and wasn't approached for food or drink until 2 hours into a midnight flight. The cabin was too hot, and I was awoken by a member of cabin crew talking to an elderly passenger some 4 metres away from me as he was possibly a bit deaf. Their conversation lasted half an hour. I'm intrigued by the new seat, but not optimistic about much else.

I did the same HEL-SIN(& SIN-HEL) in August last year and soft product was so-so. SIN route has outsourced crews which to me came through as less polished service, and in general leads to perhaps even more variation & unpredictableness in crews' know-how and willingness to do good customer service. In Finnair's defence I did HND-HEL a couple weeks ago and had the best crew I've had in years in business class on any airline. But it's definitely true that see-saw between disappointing and great crews is frustratingly becoming a norm with AY. I'd say you'll love the seat if you like lounging in different positions on your couch at home, but if you're more of an armchair/recliner person then it might not be your cup of tea.

Got to hope Finnair get their finances up soon enough. The service is okayish but the cost cutting is visible. I enjoyed the crew very much on my HEL-JFK-HEL trip this summer and have found Finnair crew awesome on my other experiences flying them in europe.

I flew Hong Kong to Helsinki yesterday. I absolutely loved the seat but had a similar catering experience. Food was bland and no breakfast choices. I liked the cocktails though. But the staff was not really impressive…
