That design is actually very smart, fewer moving parts means less maintenance. And the lack of a reclining seat removes lots of nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean thus making the seat much cleaner
I always wonder how much food people actually expect to be served on a plane? Finnair in my opinion serves decent meal and desert sizes. I live in Dubai and you should see the tiny deserts Emirates serves nowadays even in First Class.....
Actually this flight was not too bad. The one in my previous Finnair flight was tooo tiny. It’s like a size of a macaroon. Yea emirate is tiny also. QR was good size. Well I’m Asian, we like dessert lol. Thanks for watching.
I don't know about the norm but on my Finnair flight from JFK to HEL (and at least in economy) meal service began right away after take off and was only disrupted by turbulance, which made it take a tad bit too long, altough I was seated in the very last row and still found the time it took to be alright, considering the short 8h time.
Flew in this cabin 2 years ago LHR-SIN via HEL and it's a seat you either love or hate. I didn't mind it at all as usually I travel in economy and I never recline my seat anyway. On the way back to LHR they had a hull change at the last second and I got bumped down to prem-economy and it took me 4 months to get a refund for the fare difference. Haven't flown with Finnair since and don't plan to ever again.
Well then, you won't want to fly Qantas either. They cancel flights, put you on another different plane, different class, as long as Qantas is happy that's all that counts. Ba^*%*s
Qantas is leasing 2 Finnair A330s with this seat for additional Syd to Sin and Bkk flights from October. Probably superior to the standard Qantas seat. Very interesting review thank you.
Ya it’s such a nice product. The seat itself steals the show easily. Just don’t expect too much from service. It was ok, and ok it was. Nothing more or less.
That’s a really long flight. I suppose with business class and good lounge support makes your journey a breeze. Thank You for sharing this informative vlog. Enjoyed watching 👍🏻
One thing to keep in mind with Finnair business class now is that they can be consistently cheap to get. I'm flying HKG-HEL-LHR in October and booked Economy with upgrade using Avios (1:1 conversion with BA Avios) for the HKG-HEL segment, which only took 40000 Avios. Using rough value of 100 Avios = 1GBP, adding that to the 260 GBP (yes, 260) economy fare, meaning you can get this long haul Business experience for less than 700 GBP without any elaborate or complicated methods.
Yea, but that leaves it to luck also. What if the flight is full and you can't get an upgrade? Now u have to settle for economy. Many of us points-flyer havent flown long haul economy for years, we can't risk that LOL.. All thanks to the power of points. All the aviation TH-camrs all use points to secure their business class, leaving up to upgrade is too dicey lol
@@SuiteFlyer From personal experience it's quite reliable as long you have some OW membership, I got it both times I tried on HEL-HKG (once in August, once in October) with OW Sapphire (BA silver), not sure if I just got super lucky or something lol, perhaps Finnair is still rather underrated to Asia due to its long flight time flying around russia/ukraine
@@SuiteFlyerI wanna treat myself too! I’m flying from Estonia to Tokyo! I know I have to change somewhere but which product do you recommend. Not impressed with finnair rn
Thanks a lot! Yea it has really nice seat. And cool style. It is my top 10 business class seats now. Finnair has a lot more award availability during winter season like october-march, so if u wanna go to europe during this time, consider routing through Helsinki thru Finnair.
F**k yeah! Thought u forgot to give us that Finnair part 2 and finally it’s here. I took it before also, it’s great. But kinda not memorable to me also lol
@@SuiteFlyer yeah :D i think because it gets so cold, the windows would had cost riduculous amount(double or triple layered). But yes its a shame on the design choice.
I’m going to Thailand with Finnair from London to Helsinki then to Bangkok. I guess I can wait in the lounge. From Thailand to Helsinki then London, I have to wait for 5 hours in Helsinki I’ll be so bored waiting! Any suggestions what I should do to kill time. I guess waiting in the lounge won’t be that bad. 😅😅
Check out the airport. It isn’t big but it’s quite nice. The lounge is nice too. Or u could go through border control and head to the Schengen area lounge also. It’s quite nice there. I have a video of the 2 lounges. I like the Schengen one a little more actually. U can actually get it there also. If u have access to one of them then u can enter both of them.
I'd only fly FinnAir because it's a direct flight from DFW to HEL. If I connect, then never Finnair since their business class is cheap and uncomfortable.
Hard disagree. It was one of my favorite business class seats. It has so much space. Seats are bulky and sturdy. Many other big name TH-camrs or aviation bloggers all love them. But I respect your opinion.
@SuiteFlyer Don't worry, American Airlines has degraded it's service to the point their roomier seats aren't as big a draw anymore. I'll still fly Finnair because of direct flights, but I still do not like their hard seats.
When i see the foot rest area its a no for me. stupid design and I cant lie straight but to carefully put me feet. Paying such price for this seat hell no
This is just hype about Finnair, the seats are cheap and saves them money. It’s not actually good, if you are uncomfortable you are just out of luck because nothing moves except you. I took Finnair from HELSINKI TO BANGKOK and the only good thing was the ticket was cheap, you get what you pay for. Singapore flat bed is much better. Finnair is a cheap airline, food not the greatest and now these super cheap seats, they can hype all they want but it is still substandard.
Very unimpressive business class, but that's nothing new with Finnair. I've flown them several times to connect to India. I've gone with with them since usually the lowest fare and easy to connect HEL vs say LHR. But I know what i get ( and don't with them). Definitely not a fan of the weird seat. It has quite a few flaws. It's basically budget class on long haul.
Yea I think I get ur sentiment. I’m flying with them again in a few months time from HKG-DEL-HEL. Main reason is the price. BA charges too much even with award redemption with those crazy surcharges. Finnair ok the other hand r so reasonable with charges. At the end of the day the price matters too. Hence I’m picking it over BA for this reason. But I would love to fly BA club suite business class at some point if I’m departing from an airport with surcharge restriction. Thanks for watching and feedback!
hate the sound (both the music and the "narrator") hate the judgemental comments ( know you are being honest or stuff) but you just make me HATE this so called review.

You haven’t flown on other business class seats such as Air France or Qatar haven’t you? Those have doors. That’s what I mean by privacy. Not having doors reduces privacy. Simple as that. Try flying more other products and you will know. ;)
@@SuiteFlyer flew Qatar as well but if you prince want privacy at 10.000mts high on a plane, either fly Qatar forever or stop crying and fly like everyone else does
Many airlines nowadays have doors. ANA JAL AF KLM Delta, Virgin. Need more? Videos like these are to give information to compare different product. lol how immature of you. If u dont understand that the premium seats are moving towards increasing privacy, then u should comment. In business calss, i appreciate when food is served a little bit after the take off becaus that allows me to eat more in the lounge.
Great video! I loved the extra detail. I'm looking forward to flying this later in the year.
People normally eat something in lounge before flight so maybe thats why they dont serve any food just after takeoff.
Good review. Thank you mate. When was the flight taken? Interesting to see HEL airport all covered in white. So pretty.

To each their own. Some people have laptops and would need nice to have a spot to put them instead of getting up and use the overhead bin.
