the progression between chords 2 (hopeful sounding), 3 (slightly more ambiguous sounding) and 4 (mystery and the feeling of "being way in over your head") before the climax always feels like an interpretation/expression of Laura's life/arc and death
Thanks so much for this. For anyone interested, I'm trying to transcribe it in a simple way so I could play it. This is just the big middle part because the other part is easy (it's just C bass notes an octave apart and the notes D#+G#, D#+G, D#+Bb, etc, etc): UPDATE: Dashes are notes played in succession, + means it's a chord, ie the notes at the same time. Left hand on left, right hand on right. "o" = octave notes, meaning also play the same note 12 keys above it (like a D and then a higher D note, stretch your fingers!) UPDATE 2: So after comparing this with the ACTUAL version, this does appear to be a much simplified version and not accurate. For example, the C-G-E-G (x4) part in the left hand is actually more like this: C-G-E(higher)-G(higher)-E(higher)-G(lower)-E(lower)-G(higher) (it crawls all the way up the piano and is quite hard to play.) So this is a transcription of THIS video, but it's not exactly what the theme is doing, at least on the official soundtrack: C-G-E-G (x2) G+C+E , F, G E-B-G#-B (x6) B+E+G#, Bb, B, G#, Bb, B, C#(o), D#(o), E(o)(quick) F-B-G#-B (x5) G#+C+G, G#(o), Bb(o), G(o), G#(o), Bb(o), C(o), D(o) F-B-G#-F C-G-E-G (x4) E+G+C+E, D(o), F(o), E(o), D(o), C(o) A-E-BC-E (4) E+G+E, D(o), F(o), E(o), D(o), G (transition note) C(o) F-C-A-C (x7) B+G+B, A+F+A, G+E+G, F+D+F, E+C+E, D+B+D, C+A+C A (higher one) (transition note) back to C bass octave
Wonderful! Goose bumps all over. But one question: how is 1:25 physically possible? Do pros really manage this? My fingers are not even close, either I play 1 with my left and 3 with my right or 2 on each.
@@olemartinsaltkjel9065 I watched the video very often, and i try to figure it out exactly (the camera is moving and the video is blurry), but it seems to me that Angelo is playing most of the time in this part only single notes, but the last notes before the climax he plays the two keys at a time (one key is one octave down).
Anyone can give me some tips about how to do the left hand arpeggio that starts on 1:46 of the video? I'm using my thumb to press the B and C but it seems a little strange.
Oh, Angelo!
that's it!
Thx for that. Cheers.
Yer tearin my heart out!
you're tearing me apart
Keep going
THAT'S TEARING MY HEART OUT!
Now go back into the dark woods...
Not many people get to rest in peace being the greatest film composer of all time
Best tutorial on this piece. So many others play too fast or don't quite capture the climax WHICH IS TEARING DAVID'S HEART OUT!!!!
Can't believe he is gone, my favourite song of all time, just perfectly moving, heartbreaking and rejoicing at the same time
Everytime damn time I play this piece I end up crying.
Thank you, Angelo..
This song is slaying my life rn

RIP king ❤
A great piece of music 🎶 ❤
Simple but so nice. I love it.
Thanks so much for this! Took me three days and I almost have it down. Just been having a little difficulty with the climax. Such a beautiful song
This is so beautiful, always loved this theme from Twin Peaks, now I have to learn it

...masterpiece....
R.I.P. Angelo Badalamenti
this is beautiful
As a beginner, that left hand arpeggio is difficult man! Bit of a stretch. Oh well. Keep practicing!
You can play it perfectly now right?
Thanks for uploading this! I learned it and now have a cover on my channel. I'm really happy with how it turned out, this was a great tutorial
OH YES ANGELO, KEEP GOING
"You know... this is, excuse me, a damn fine cup of theme (coffee)"
great tutorial, and a song that is easy to make easier if you are a beginner at piano/keyboards
How do you make it easier than this?
Masterpiece
This is great, thank you!
Beautiful
Amazing
Does anyone know where I can find sheet music of this version please? I have found other versions of LP’s theme but none as accurate as this
hey can you upload the midi? it's not working on google drive
Twin peaks y'all 💗💗💗💗
Thanks
The MIDI file link isn’t working. Could you reupload?
Rest in peace
Hey man, awesome rendition. Would you be able to reupload the MIDI file by any chance? The link doesn't work anymore.

If you see Angelo Badalamenti on TH-cam playing this, you see that he plays not the notes in 1:25...
I actually see that it’s at 1:24, but that doesn’t change your answer as he doesn’t play it👍🏼

MIDI file download no longer works. :(
Could someone tell exactly what piano VST was used for this? Or how I can achieve this sound as close as possible? @PianoFamily ?

@@fromonesource8469 this midi is in a different key oof its in D# instead of C
Definitely in C minor

Rafael Laporte You're absolutely right - B&C is pressed by thumb
@@pianofamily3697 Thank you!

I like the extra flair in this, but it's not compatible with human hands unfortunately.
T Ray I’m fairly new to playing, but couldn’t you just use a sustain pedal since the notes are separated
@@doha015 maybe. I'm hardly even an amateur piano player lol so I'm sure this is easy for any regular player.
Eh grazie con il piano boh sembra facile lo fanno in tanti ma non è una cosa particolare purtroppo c'è troppa concorrenza..
Damn my small hands

Angelo, REACH SOME KINDA CLIMAX
Make a version for humans, please
This song is cult and the tragic abused in this music is limited absurd it's soooo sad
