I love Pan’s Labyrinth for its darkness, sorrow, and brutality. It's a very emotional piece of music but as well beautiful that it can tell you a story about a little girl's quest to escape the cruelties of Spanish Fascism. Please Like and Share if you enjoyed the video and have a great week!
This movie is a great example of the caudillos in Spain during this time and the parallels between the struggles of the people under the coming dictatorship which is brilliantly told "circularly" through the eyes of a little girl. I love this film and it's director.
The piano plays her to another world The melody a backdrop to the harsh reality A forbidden waltz Blood on a white dress A strangers deadly kiss And when the music stops She is frozen in a painting Lovely to look at, never to touch And if you look close enough You can see the fear in her blue eyes
Lorna McLellan Yo do you mind if I could present this in English class? We’re doing poetry rn and this shit is deep...I find it extremely beautiful and dark and I’d love to share it if that’s ok with you
This piece always makes me cry, even the title makes me cry because it sums up Ofelia's story. It's a lullaby to help her sleep, to escape from reality to the fairytale land where she should return and I want to believe her fantasy world existed and she is the lost princess.
I watched this movie yesterday, and I cried all night, I thought it would be a romantic fairy tale movie, but in the end it was only death and everything was just an illusion, I cried to remember that life is like a breath and we can die At any moment ... And worst of all, that there really is no fairy tale world, we have to accept the harsh reality...
Wow, your comment has sparked some light in here... I will not forget those words ... I want to be one of the people who see magic everywhere, But I'll be sure not to get off the ground. xD
Lucy Alice Probably there is magic, but it's not the magic we would expect. I like to go outside and look for beautiful little things, a bunch of flowers growing on a wall, a child having fun with their mum... Maybe it's not magic, but it comes close ;)
My uncle passed away in July and my mom wanted us to watch his favorite movie, this one and I loved it now she wants me to play it on the piano. this is such a beautiful song💜💜💜
This makes me think about life. And since I lost my sister recently it really makes me think about losing others in my life, not fixing my mistakes, of all the wrong doings I’ve done, etc. This piece is amazing makes me really reflect on life.
A absolute masterpiece of cinematography by Del toro. Definitely one of the best films ever made. A sorrowful and beautiful piece of music to go with it. If anyone hasn't watched this movie as yet and has an appreciation for thought provoking art will enjoy this movie.
Ehsan Hossaini the girl from the movie was suffering and was living the real world alone bc her mom died and she stayed with the bad coronel (her stepfather) and all she wanted was to live in the fairytale world. she didn’t have anyone only the maid and the maid was taking care of her when she needed to be loved. at the end the girl dies and finally lives in the fairytale world with her mother, which is the queen of that world. All the girl wanted was love and happiness
Ehsan Hossaini the thing is the end shows that every innocent kids who died at the war, went to live the world that they suppose to live, which had happiness, no pain, no suffering and love
I just finished playing the whole song!! Learned and memorized in 2 and a half days. :) Thank you SOOO much for posting this! It’s such a lovely song from a very.. Sad.. And Gorey movie, but still beautiful! Again, Thank you!!
This film is so beautifully creepy and haunting. The story of the lost princess in the beginning and the themes of reincarnation are explored in such a rich way
people say love is the most beautiful thing in the world, yet to me love is the most painful thing I've ever felt in this world. so much joy yet in a split second when the one you love most is gone, that love hurts so bad.
Think of a dark room, would you be happy alone??? would you be happy scared???? Love is happiness in it's self you must love yourself to be happy with yourself it's the ones you love that make you happy when your sad and even though it hurts sometimes it's one of the only things worth fighting for in this world.
I think a little the same things...I explain... The love is just a drug just that its not like really romantic its just your brain who say "Hey you do have a children" and nothing else... After I'm never fell in love...Maybe the words I was write are wrong for that. And the major part of people I was see in love after the end of there love story are complety sad and in missing of drug...
Love is not a drug, rather a lifeline we as people need it breath it and live for it being alone with no love breaks a person down to there soul and cracks it. What else can be said to a person with no love you can't simply say sorry and move on rather love the person who breaks. I've been broken I still am I feel alone and the only people I live for are my family without them I'm nothing but a stitched together doll who amounts to nothing but pain. If they die I die never say love is a drug because if it was that would mean we could live without, but the truth is we are nothing without it we live on it.
Smiley IllusioN you said exactly what I meant. I just recently lost someone I loved most in this world and I haven't been ok and I fight so hard every day just to keep going

When I found this I was so happy because I love this song so much because of how much emotion it portrays. It's a beautiful song from a beautiful movie. I own the movie and when I first watched it I was thrown off by it being in another language, since I only understand English, but I enjoyed it and still enjoy watching it to this day. Thank you for playing this song for all of us, I know I appreciate it! Your videos make me want to learn piano but I don't have the patience to learn it... I've tried...
Everything about this movie was excellent the score, cinematography, acting, directing. This movie is truly a masterpiece and one I hold dearly in my heart. Such an elegant movie and I love it was made in one of my motherlands Spain.
Just bought a piano after wanting one ever since I was a kid and never having the means. I am so motivated to learn, more so than I ever have been with anything else in my life, with no exaggeration. Your videos and playing inspire me. I hope to one day play with the expression and finesse that you play with. Keep doing what you're doing, and thank you for uploading tutorials. I know you have done it for some, but if you could do sheet music for everything, that would also be so helpful!
The Wild Conductor, do you have the midi files for the songs you do? I'm just learning myself and I'm finding that these synthesia midi's are a good motivator. I use them mostly to play without looking at the piano because for some reason sheet music sight reading is far more difficult for me.

Such a relaxing and beautiful piece of music. This music box version is on my list of covers i'll be covering this month. As for the piano version, I don't actually have a set tutorial to follow for it, until I found this and it's fantastic :D Is it okay if I can make a cover based on this arrangement, it won't be an exact copy, but I will give credit to you in the description for the help and inspiration. The ending was superb as well!
I heard a lot of comments on that, and a lot of people say the director said it was real. There were a couple of hints to prove it's real if you look close enough.
Chris it's however you view the story. Personally, I believe all the magic was real, but Ofelia was the only one who could view/understand it because of her innocence, as shown in the scene where Ofelia is speaking to the Faun, but Captain Vidal sees her talking to thin air. When she was killed, her human body died, which was merely a vessel for the spirit of Princess Moanna, and since all three tasks were completed, she was brought back to her kingdom and reunited with her family.
I know you comented a year ago but I wanted you to keep in mind that Vidal had been drugged with sleep medication before chasing after Ofelia, and some say maybe that's why he didn't see the Faun.
Loved this song so learned how to play from this video. Then loved playing so now I’ve been taking piano lessons for a few months. Funny how something small can change your direction in life.

This song tears at my soul. It reminds me of all my past sorrow and anguish. It rips apart my reality and leaves me in the darkest parts of my mind. i once watched this movie when i was 6 maybe 7, and all i remember from it is the person with the eye hands and a girl crawling through a hole, i have been looking for the name of this movie for forever, 7 years later, i find this, thanks youtube
Me too. I was also 6-7 when it came out and my mom watched it (while I was around). I was scared but intrigued. I re-watched it this year and I cry because of how sad the story is but it is still so beautiful. It's on Netflix so that's where I watched it :) you will love it.
Omggg I remember when I was 3 years old my brother bought a dvd of this movie and I was sooo scared of it, I didn't even want to open the drawer where we kept all of the dvd's...I just found a photo on instagram from this movie...I kind of wanna watch it..
One of my favorite movies. Not intended for kids even though I saw the movie when I was one. I kind of hated Ofelia's mother because she didn't take care of her. She was a coward.
I saw this movie when I was a kid, but only one section where there was a giant table with things and a girl and him, then my parents turned off the TV and I never knew what it was called but i knew I had something special. As soon as I saw the thumbnail I entered the video and hearing the melody, I knew I was right, it was special.
The movie made me cry did it make u cry 😭 Here's a quote by me because this music moves me so much Life is like a fire it can die easily but you may also breath life into it (birth) you must feed it to keep it alive and if untended (abandoned) the fire slowly dies away and burns out with a final breath. The fire is meant to simblize life/people/animals I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAME OVER ME THIS IS A GOOD AND TRUE QUOTE I THOUGHT OF 😢 Ok not so much of a quote more of like the truth
Wow I love how you express yourself about life and how we live and yes, life is very fragile and if you don’t keep it lit, the fire will die out and then...... Poof the life is gone from that little flame that keeps us alive! Thanks you for sharing this comment, that was lovely and touching!❤️❤️❤️
I’ve a day to learn a piece as I haven’t played piano in years I’m self taught but I’ve been asked to and I miss it so I’ve been looking everywhere for something I could easily pick up and this is beautiful I will definitely give it an attempt tomorrow
I love Pan’s Labyrinth for its darkness, sorrow, and brutality.

Physiological debate time: was all the magic real or an imaginative coping mechanism for a lonely traumatized little girl?
I think it's more like her perspective view of the world around her
I heard a lot of comments on that, and a lot of people say the director said it was real.
Well she escape her room by drawing an door on the wall at the end. Plus there is the mandragora healing her mother. For me, everything was real
I know you comented a year ago but I wanted you to keep in mind that Vidal had been drugged with sleep medication before chasing after Ofelia, and some say maybe that's why he didn't see the Faun.
Sooo incredibly sad and yet so very beautiful!

This inspired me to watch the actual movie. Lets just say, after watching the movie and listening to this, I cry.
PAN'S LABYRINTH WAS MY CHILDHOOD MOVIE AND NOW I JUST FINISHED PLAYING THE SONG WITHOUT WATCHING THIS VIDEO🤩🤩
This is great!
Thank you Claudia!!! It's nice to hear from you ;-)
+The Wild Conductor ❤️
this song is so relaxing and beautiful
i once watched this movie when i was 6 maybe 7, and all i remember from it is the person with the eye hands and a girl crawling through a hole, i have been looking for the name of this movie for forever, 7 years later, i find this, thanks youtube
Me too. I was also 6-7 when it came out and my mom watched it (while I was around). I was scared but intrigued. I re-watched it this year and I cry because of how sad the story is but it is still so beautiful.
It's on Netflix so that's where I watched it :) you will love it.
So simple yet deep
IDKW. This beautiful piece always remember to amazing Over The Garden Wall...
Simply beautiful. x
Hahahahahahha I feel you
Use to sing pans lullaby to my baby so often.. she’s 13 now 😅 such a soft sweet haunting melody… she’s never even seen the tale
It's an old Spanish story, my grandmother always told me when I don't eat my food, the coco comes at night and eats the children.
So simple yet so be magnificently beautiful. Just like life
One of my fav movies 🤘
I like this melody. It's so. Unsettling for a. Lullaby. So sad.
Sad and happy.
Sadly beautiful... Thanks for watching :)
Magic realism is truly the greatest genre.
Is that the official name of the genre? I’ve just been calling it “Country Fantasy” lmao
Yeah, pans labyrinth falls under the genre magic realism. It sounds lame now but I did a whole report on it in junior high way back in the day.
Define magic realism?
tak piękne, tak smutne, tak.... osobiste. tan hermoso, tan triste, tan... personal.
pls someone play me this at my funerals and shindlers list theme too. thanks
edit : add hokage funeral song and im ready to die
Don’t die
Wow! I am 33 and I want to start learning piano just for this music!
Omggg I remember when I was 3 years old my brother bought a dvd of this movie and I was sooo scared of it, I didn't even want to open the drawer where we kept all of the dvd's...I just found a photo on instagram from this movie...I kind of wanna watch it..
The movie make me cry, honestly, a sad history... Beauty song, but sad at the same time...
I cried alot when Ofelia died.... :'(
Min Chan Lee me too....;-; but it’s still my favourite movie/movie soundtrack of all time
Same
Min Chan Lee glii
ij
Min Chan Lee l7p
Beautiful intermediate/beginner song. Easily can be downloaded to synthesia. Love this painful lullaby.
One of my favorite movies. Not intended for kids even though I saw the movie when I was one. I kind of hated Ofelia's mother because she didn't take care of her. She was a coward.
Bruh my parents only put it on for me cause it looks like a kids movie.
Lily Liss hahah and then everyone‘s parents : plot twist it’s R rated😂🙏🏻
I saw this movie when I was a kid, but only one section where there was a giant table with things and a girl and him, then my parents turned off the TV and I never knew what it was called but i knew I had something special. As soon as I saw the thumbnail I entered the video and hearing the melody, I knew I was right, it was special.
When I try to play, I simply don’t have enough fingers, or rather they are too short T_T
Me too but I managed to make it work, I just have to move my hand really quickly lol
Such a beautiful piece, I hope to learn this song😍😍
The movie made me cry did it make u cry 😭
Here's a quote by me because this music moves me so much
Life is like a fire it can die easily but you may also breath life into it (birth) you must feed it to keep it alive and if untended (abandoned) the fire slowly dies away and burns out with a final breath. The fire is meant to simblize life/people/animals
I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAME OVER ME THIS IS A GOOD AND TRUE QUOTE I THOUGHT OF 😢
Ok not so much of a quote more of like the truth
Wow I love how you express yourself about life and how we live and yes, life is very fragile and if you don’t keep it lit, the fire will die out and then...... Poof the life is gone from that little flame that keeps us alive! Thanks you for sharing this comment, that was lovely and touching!❤️❤️❤️
@@lynnrose4477 you are welcome glad someone likes it 😊
@@user-pv2hc7co7n thank you!😊
@@lynnrose4477 no thank you for liking it 😊
@@user-pv2hc7co7n ok!
Thanks. I was looking for a well made tutorial of this song. Keep up the good work.
+Eugenio Rizzo (misfit82) Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful!
Where do I find this on a music sheet
I’ve a day to learn a piece as I haven’t played piano in years I’m self taught but I’ve been asked to and I miss it so I’ve been looking everywhere for something I could easily pick up and this is beautiful I will definitely give it an attempt tomorrow
I remember I watched this movie when I was about 7, and all I remember was fairies and a scary ass creature with eyes on its hands.
I love that movie it’s really one of the best made movies ever
