- FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, launching on Thursday 29 February 2024, was featured in State of Play.
A special gameplay video presented by Director Naoki Hamaguchi was revealed, showing how this game has been designed.
Many features including the vast world map where Cloud and his friends go on their new journey are showcased with newly revealed footage. Please look forward to the new experiences that this title will bring.

That would be a great feature, that wasn't present in the original VII, though it was in X, XII and XIII and I always liked it.

@@rongeojohns7906 it’s the fist time we’re seeing it for Rebirth. And if you’ve followed along with the decade (and more really if you go all the way back) since they started talking about this project, there was much doubt it could be done. A world of this size and scale, seamless. FF XVI didn’t even try. XV’s open world was mostly just scenery to drive in. This is unprecedented in a modern HD Final Fantasy and compared to even the original, this is at scale.

Oh, my gosh. This is so extra. And Remake already went above and beyond. But, what's really amazing is how quickly they churned this out. Kind of disappointing to see what Square can do when their efforts are properly focused. Makes me wonder what we and they have been missing.
Yeah it’s funny huh, I was thinking that as well, not really widely as mentioned but this came out relatively quicker than many other projects.
@Dinoman210 well they probably had a small team already started on Rebirth while a main team focused on the development of Remake, and chances are they have another small team currently working on the next part as well. With a project of this scale it makes sense to have smaller teams already working on concepts for each upcoming part of the game.
They was working on this when they was releasing part 1. the assistant director of part 1 is now the main director for part 2 as well. Also part 2 uses assets that was already in part 1 and expands on systems already built in part 1 like the combat.. so yeah it comes out faster because it's not completely built from scratch if that's what you was imagining. also it really helps once all the ground work is done and that would have mostly been done and planned before remake part 1 too. not sure what there is to be disappointed about, the people working on ff7 appreciate the first game and they seem to be working hard on this, not just work but for love of a classic game they're probably glad to pay tribute to. they'll be very motivated i'm sure and looking forward to seeing the end of it because they are also fans like us. FF16 is great and FF14 is also great with a new expansion coming , graphical update and xbox release. If you want to be disappointed, try looking at star-field or other "AAA" games.
Also i'm just gunna point out the original ff7, ff8 and ff9 came out in the same time frame as Part 1 to Part 2, they had much smaller teams and had to learn new 3d skills, funny how perspectives change. We get mobile games instead, because people are happy with garbage, this is where the "efforts" have been the past 10+ years. Square is not unique in this or to blame, it's the fault of consumers why we get less games like this, it's not as profitable.
What theyve been missing? They've been missing a proper ffvii remake, not whatever this ffvii skinned game is. They need to take a tip from capcom and its resident evil remakes.

I remember playing the original that I could barely read. So when I came to the part when you have get the black materia, I spend 10 hours+ running i circles on the world map never finding it 😂
Will still be running in circles for 10 hours, but this time I wont be lost, just exploring the world😊

I bought and sat on the FF7 REMAKE for over 2 years without playing it, thinking it was some quick cheap remake attempt of the beautiful game I played when i was young. "There's no way they can go all out with the scale and content of the original game. It'll be some sort of ultra narrow, linear to the max story line with cutscenes, etc etc. " Well, I'm on day 4 , 30 hous in and HOOOOOOOLY FUUUUUCK! I stayed away from watching any trailers or news about it when it came out to avoid spoilers and to be surprised, and im glad i did. I never thought they'd fit the entire story into the games, much less to this scale. Im beyond impressed, I'm blown away, I'm a kid again. Barret's lines actually make me laugh. I dont think i've ever laughed out loud to a game before. Im in love with Remake so far and now i have Rebirth on PC to look forward to......i cant wait. You managed to bring me that old feeling of joy again. Thank you.

Just started this game last night after playing Remake... 🎉 this game is beyond astounding! I am 2 hours in, but i plan to stretch it into 100plus hours. I want to experience every single detail of this masterpiece.
And if this is part 2, I cannot believe what they have in store for us in part 3...

With how controversial 8 was and arguably still is, FF8 objectively will benefit the most from a remake. So many things has the potential to be changed and fixed for the better. FF 9 is fine as is since the whole premise was for it to be a call back to the older games...
If FF9 were to get a remake, it would definitely be a smaller budget project retaining most of the story aspects and minor changes to gameplay like Persona 3 Reload...
So, I agree with you that this would be a favored game for me to see be remastered/remade. However, I have to agree with @Isa-wy6zy that FF8 would get way more from a remake treatment. Said game has a lot to unpack and reload for a modern audience.
Over 400 tracks in the OST (+ totally some from Remake will come back)... I'm out of words...
so this is is the continuation / disc 2 from the old 1996 game. cant wait to master it within 14 days and waiting 2-4 years for the end game / disc 3 xD

Just finished remake for the first time in 42 hours and loved it a lot it's one of the best games I have ever played. I am so hyped for this game but I think I need to take a little breather before I venture into the next one and make it all Final Fantasy lol.
Rebirth is 3-4x the length of Remake if you do all the side-stuff XD
Now this is what I can call a modern Final Fantasy game - - the gameplay and combat mechanics feel pretty much a natural evolution of what the series is also known for.
The last few FFs don't even feel like a spin-off, but totally different games with FF names and lore slapped to it.
back when me in elementary school, playing final fantasy after back from school. then took a nap, at afternoon do the homework and playing again till bedtime. repeat everyday.
but now, you already 35 yo which work 9-5, have own family, back to home, getting things done in home, and only can enjoy 2 hrs max of all of this massive content, repeat everyday.
Or, you are using PTO because you know that two hours a day simply isn't enough and staying up til 5 or 6 AM playing all evening, night, and early morning will make for a tough work week!
I didn't even take PTO for my own birthday but for a Rebirth, it's worth it. ❤

Awesome Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gameplay Video.
Final fantasy is my favourite game franchise, hail Sakaguchi! This game looks awesome, the scale is huge! I'm hopefully going to buy the ps5 soon and get playing the games I love to watch reviews of even if gaming is in a tough spot at the moment we still have a few exceptions to enjoy!

This is classic Final Fantasy. While Final Fantasy 16 may have one of the best storylines ever, Rebirth brings back free roam, anxiety, and Diamond Weapon, and the ability to serenade cats, and i pray a way to save Aerith, because of her Voice Actress, she has become one of my favorite characters, and i hope her death is not a fixed point in the games timeline.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Ghost Of Tsushima both had great combat mechanics. Block, perfect parry, and dodging ☝️ In Ghost Of Tsushima, You can slow down time while in stance change mode
Haven't been so psyched about a new video game since FF7 the OG was released back on 9/7/97.
Remake was INCREDIBLE.
Never was in to a single other "remaster"/remake that Square has done but now I'm sold they can bring new, incredible life to our favorite titles.

As i’m really excited to play Rebirth, what you’ve said at 6:35-6:50 had me curious because the demo we’ve played had texture and lighting issues. It could be an old build but most of us (if not, all) were aware the final build for FF7 Remake PS4 had texture issues as well.
I think its because the demo IS only 44 GB WE will see When the game release FF7 remake was arleady pretty good on PS5 . And rebirth IS on too disc too

9:07 shoutout to the OG developer that decided to showcase Tifa as the Gold Saucer date.
Since FF7 is so incredibly popular, it is a well known fact that the original game was SUPER BIASED towards an Aerith date (the numbers to do it in the game’s code).
If we take their words to heart, not only are Yuffie and Barret still an option, but Nanaki, Vincent and Cid too! A great change to appease the super hardcore (and weird) fans, as well as the 2 Dirge of Cerberus fanboys.

Omg, they did it, I wouldn't have forgiven them if they didn't bring back the Cosmo Canyon theme. One of the catchiest beat I can recall from the PS era.

The scale of this game is incredible almost they have put everything in a open world single player game . The best is everything will be available at launch with no dlc whenever it will come on pc day one purchase

I completed the original ps1 version of FF7 years and years ago - a good few times now in fact. And now I'm hurrying to finish FF7 remake on my ps4 save (Always wanted to take my time with it) before the 29th of this month. Even though I know all the story beats it feels spoiler-y to engage with any of the marketing material for Rebirth so I had to hit pause 5 seconds in on this. And when it's out i'm avoiding any kind of media from other players until I get through to where part 3 will pick up!
