My man just installed all 4 of mine on a 2016 crew cab ram 1500. Used your video as my guide. Bought the entire pair on Amazon for 40$ and they fit and look cleaner than the original. 10 star video boss appreciate it 🤙🏼
So very helful! I had the same condition develop on my 2014 SLT. I ordered the parts a few months ago and have just been sitting on them. You make it look so terribly simple that I'll probably do it tonight after the sun goes down and cools off over -30deg (I have summer).
Thanks for the video it was superb, I replace all 4 on my 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 I was planning to have the dealership do it here in Savannah, Ga. But, after purchasing the 4 belt weather strips from the dealership for $868.00 I decided I would do it after seeing your video. The dealership said it would be around $1800 with parts and labor. Thanks Again!
Dang, Dealers are really gouging people, Really glad it helped you save money! More room to spend on cool stuff! Just let me know if you have any other how to videos, I'd be happy to help!
Thanks for the video, I bought the molding don’t know how to do it, checking you video make sense and was very easy no trouble at all just follow you steps 👍🏼thanks again
@@bmrbca3658 I just went into my local dodge dealership and explained to him what I needed and he pulled it up on his computer. You could probably find it online for cheaper but I just decided to go OEM and on the plus side I had one that was bent and I was able to return it and get a replacement next day for no extra cost.
Thank you!!! Similar experience with dealer wanting $800 plus labor, bought full set for 2020 Ram 2500 Crew Cab for $70 online, with your video took 20mins to install, turned out great, now am curious to see how $70 seals hold up compared to the worthless original set.
Great instructions and thank you. I replaced mine (2014) with what I found on Amazon and much cheaper. Not sure the durability but they look good now. Loosening mirrors are a must but removal is not necessary. The new ones are much harder to remove after seating so be sure the screw holes line up.
Dude, I'm in ATX. The Texas heat cooked the moldings on my 2012 Ram, and they're so bad now that they dont' even squeegee the morning condensation off the window. Thanks for the video. Gonna head the dealership tomorrow to get mine. Hopefully, I'll be saying "voila" myself when I change out mine. You happen to remember the part numbers for each molding? Thanks again.
I’ve watched a few of these videos and seems like you’re the only one that removed the mirrors. It don’t look to me mine go under the mirror any. I got a 2500 with the bigger tow mirrors. Maybe that’s why. Idk
Please revise the title from "repair" to "replace". I was hoping for a solution to repair the warped rubber. Adding the part numbers to the description would also be helpful to viewers.
Anyone know if replacing these inner/outer will prevent scratches windows? I bought used ram 2500. All four windows have deep scratches. My truck was broken into and drivers window broken and so I replaced driver and passenger windows I just don’t want the new windows to get scratched like previous. Insane how much for a set especially since the truck is fairly new with low miles and already had damaged windows I assume is do to faulty worn out steeps.
It will most likely prevent or resolve your issue, Over time dirt and grit from sand gets trapped in your old ones and essentially acts like sand paper so if you replace the windows but leave the old ones on your very likely to have the same issue all over again. I can't say it won't happen again especially if you travel dirt roads often but it will lessen the chance tremendously. Hope this helps!
@@stevenhicks815 I was in error above, the PN is different, so hopefully the material/process is improved too. I'll be getting a new set soon for my 2016 and at $350, they better last! Best of luck with yours.

Big thanks, I just replaced mine, cost 260 for front two but with your help it took me about 20 minutes
I do you happen to have the part numbers for the front set?

@@bmrbca3658 I believe all the ones that I found online were either chrome trim or full sets for the crew cabs so I just caved and went in person.

Great video. Do you have a link to where I can find the front and rear moldings?
I do not, I purchased mine in person from a mopar dealership because I could not find them online.
Thanks for the love!
You don't have to remove the mirror. The trim slides right in there.
I was looking for this comment lol

thank you, i see that i have the same issue i tougth it was defective or sun heat that makes the plastic goes like that, i will order them to fix it.
Thanks brother I half to replace mine looks very easy
I just sold my fourth gen. But if i still owned it, this information would've been great
Do i do it the same way on my 2008 Dodge grand caravan? Can't find a Video to that.
Great video. Thanks for this!
How long before they start warping again you think?
The trim on my charger that is above the window along the roof line is lifting how would you recommend gluing that it back in place
@@jamesbaine580 Oof, man not sure, I haven't had to assess one so I'm not sure what your working with.
I just replaced all 4 on my Toyota for 54 bucks and 20 minutes of my time. My Ram 2500 needs new ones 300 dollars is a crime.
Fact! It's insane!
300$ !! That’s insane for some rubber trim.
Amazon, eBay. Can wrap them or coat them in uv protectant.

Yeah those are easy. Had to replace mine a couple years ago.
It's ridiculous how common of an issue it is.

$65 on ebay for a set of 4.

Can't be repaired. They used cheap rubber and the heat distorts it. Just have to bite the bullet and replace them.
Bought a set of 4 Ram window moldings on Amazon for $39.00. No need to remove the mirror. Molding slides in behind it.
do you have the part numbers?

Yes it will!! My windows have black streaks from corroded window seals. Worth doing this!
Will they do it again if you buy new ones
Yes, it's the same part, material, manufacturer.
