i became a furry because my friends called me it in high school and i looked it up and the description of the fandom i got i loved, and i fell in love the art
I have a similar story, I looked it up out of curiosity after reading a convention horror story where a bunch of furries that probably got banned from all the local cons got together in a hotel and basically got it on everywhere. I quickly found the SFW side and fell head-first into that.
I'm pretty sure that grayish blue thing was supposed to be a wombat. the way I found the furry Fandom was that I was looking to see how to make mask and bodysuits for my haunted house. I stumbled upon a few videos like sky-high and pocari roo , and the more I learn about furries the more interested I became and here I'm today.
When I was like in 7th grade (I believe) I remember seeing the episode of My Strange Addiction with that girl who was obsessed wearing fursuits. Then, I was in the fandom ever since
my introduction to the fandom was watching a con dance competition on youtube that my best friend sent me, like, a few months ago and i absolutely fell in love with the suits. i made characters, and now i'm making my own suit head and i'm honestly not sure if I count as a furry, because it feels like i'm only in it for the fursuits? but i absolutely love you guys
The story of how I became a furry: I went on TH-cam I saw a video of someone making fun of furries I looked up furry on Google I liked it I became a furry
How I became a furry, I first attended a con that had a fursuit panel, I knew about the culture but never had first hand info as it was, at the same time I was trying to learn how to draw comics and for whatever reason I had a really hard time trying to draw human characters , But I could draw humanoid animal characters so I drew a entire first issue comic with story line and inking etc, Then I wrote other story lines for the characters I created although did not draw the comics for those because it was a insane amount of work to draw the first , After that I learned how to make fursuits so I could have a live representation of my characters made my characters by myself ,Then I went to other conventions entered my costume into contests and took first place loved the culture and embraced it.
I just kind of always was? I always like anthros and stuff and only drew those types of characters. Tell one day some one at school said “Waite are you a furry?” When asked what it was they gave me like a explanation like “ some who draw characters who are animals but they act like people.” I said” I Gess so ?” And here I am So Gess they were right
I found out about the furry fandom through the My little pony fandom. I follow several MLP artist on instagram, and one day, one of them posted a drawing of this shark-girl with pink hair, and in the description it said it was her shark sona. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I didn't know what it was, so I just typed shark sona into youtube and a video of Stormi the Folf came up. I watched it and thought about how cute his fursuit was. Then I watched all of his videos about what a furry was etc, and I thought it was cool enough to join ^^ I have now been in the fandom for 1 year and 5 months, since November 2018.
Another great video Ash. Sorry I missed the stream earlier. Hope it was a great experience. :D I personally became a furry through watching furry youtubers such as yourself. Your documentary on the furry fandom for example. As well as witnessing the incredible artistic talent within the furry community. Wouldn't have it any other way. :D
i 3 years ago i got a recommended furry video and i clicked it bc im very obsessed with animals, so i was wonderin whats up with them, and i realised it was easy to be one and it seemed fun, im still young: 12. slowly becomin one getting items to start it, ive got a tail, ears, collar with dog tags, created character, named it, and some paws. im excited for future
I became a furry when my friend did a presentation on the fandom in school. After the presentation I started looking into the fandom more and completely fell in love with all the fursuits and art. Overall, I just loved the creativity.
I joined the fandom back in 92,93 and first met furries at a park and found I was very much comfortable looking like an anthropomorphic animal, being a furry is a sense of being who you are. My first fursuit was that of a silver fox he was a good looking boi too boot. Not every one will agree ut I think furries are some of the most interesting people and critters out there. Furries are for the most part very smart and funny and very much welcoming of others. Ash STAY FLUFFY, STAY SAFE and STAY WELL.
I joined the fandom not too long ago actually it was in the fall of this past year my friend has been a furry longer than I have and I saw them posting about furry stuff and I just thought it was really cool and I started looking at other people's fursuits and I just love the overall creativity and art of creating fursuits
Becoming a furry was a slow process for me that took years. I first found out about and joined the fandom back in 2016 through a furry hate video of all things I thought it was something for me. I joined furry amino the same day using my teddy bear as fursona. Then I found the lewd side of the fandom some time later I didn't know it at the time but I suffered from low testosterone leading to low selfe esteem and an internalized fear of lewdness. this led to me having sort of a love hate relationship with the fandom until I went to my first furry meetup in 2018. It wasn't until then that I got it that I did not need to choose between the nsfw and sfw sides of the fandom and that's when I finally grew to love the fandom and myselfe.
I became a fan of Goldenwolf's art and other anthro artists some 15+ years ago. I was closeted, telling myself I wasn't a furry. Finally joined the community recently and it feels like accepting part of myself, giving my alters a more tangible place
That was very good. I mostly became a furry, not only because I was a fan of Anthropomorphic stuff, like the suits, art and animation, but I got into it mainly to make friends, socialize and have fun. It is often difficult, to find the right friends for myself, since I am selectively social, because I don't desire of having way too many friends, but just enough that are close to me and that I am strongly comfortable with. I am not an artist, or a fursuit maker, but I do have technical and artistic skills outside of the fandom, like assembling, or making crafts and such. Although I haven't really done anything like that in a long while. Anyway, thank you for this video Ash.
I became a furry as a result of my love of animals and from watching Eric Schwartz's animations. (By the way, this video reminds me of Odin Wolf's WikiHow video.)
It started back when I picked up the Archie sonic comic #120(Still have it). Mainly due to Mina Mongoose who was on the cover of the book. Though It did not fully complete until about 2007 or so when I discovered Deviantart and some of the artists who got their start there.
I finally started expressing my fursonas last year, but I kinda knew I was one throughout high school, I just didn’t really express it then. But I was expressing it more once I started my Pup lifestyle. I’m a Border Collie, & an Arctic Fox
I got interested in the furry fandom because a webcomic artist I was following was quite openly a furry. They drew themselves into their fancomic as their furry self. Although, I suspect I would have slid into the fandom eventually anyway. Two of the earliest influences on me that I can remember were "The Lion King" and "Star Fox" on the SNES.
I became a furry about 5 years ago. My older sister introduced me to the whole fursuiting thing and I immediately liked the whole idea. Let's just say that I'm somehow more involved in the furry community than my sister. In fact, I don't know if my sister is still a furry. But I'm glad she introduced me to this amazing community.
My furry inspiration was Curlew from the 1963 Disney film The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. So, my parents thought there was something seriously wrong with me. Such a relief to discover furry fandom. I may be crazy, but furries were the lunatics I had always longed for.
I became a furry through my art. When I first got into art, I drew mlp characters which turned into feral furry (walks on 4 legs, looks mostly like a normal animal but with human thoughts kinda thing) oc's. Around this time I discovered animal jam and animation memes, which led to more animal drawings. I also had an interest in a lot of books from an animal pov or containing mostly animals. I was just a big animal person in general as a kid. I'm not entirely sure how I started drawing anthro's but I assume I drew them like how I saw in animation memes (there's a lot of furry content there). Fast forward to last year, I was drawing more anthro's but was still more invested in the animation meme side of things, so I didn't think myself part of the fandom. That was until I saw that Kittydog (Popular animator) was making a fursuit, watched furry Reddit videos and starting posting my art on Instagram under the furry tags. I started watching furry TH-camrs (Odin wolf and Pocari roo being the first) and joined a few discord servers. After a while, I redid my fursona (the old one was a big yikes), joined more furry servers, moved away from feral art to draw more anthro's, and followed more furry's. That's basically where I'm at now, I've been part of the fandom for about a year now and its been super fun. I've been improving and sharing my art more, been a lot happier and I even want to try and make my own fursuit!
My youngest brother introduced me to fury Yayoi visual novels and I already liked anthro characters one of my favorite characters is Robin Hood and Balto the famous sled 🐕 dog.💜😎
2020 quarantine madness had me looking into the fandom again and then I decided to join after seeing some of the content creators and getting informed on it.
I became a furry after getting curious when a furry followed me on Twitter and I saw their posts.. After researching and watching videos, I joined the fandom right away and got used to fursuits in a mere 2 days or so! I joined Valentine's Day 2019 and it's been super amazing since! I have made many friends, met all kinds of people, attended my first ever furcon Fur Reality 2019 which was the best experience of my life, overcame social anxiety, got way better at art though I still have a lot to improve on, and have seen my general quality of life(apart from my ankle injury a week ago) go up, I'm in the best state in general I have ever been in my whole life! I became a metalhead, vocalist, full on artists and writer, and punk in 2018, rocker in 2017 beforehand: the fandom got me into MLP and I regained a love and appreciation for plushies! My life wouldn't be as fun without the fandom for sure! I will be in the fandom for as long as possible and defend it till the day I die! Planning on make bigger waves this year at Fur Reality 2020, the pet rock shall rule supreme once my work is done(though I am very loyal to Bone Dog as well)!
I started off as a brony but alot went down and i had met other furries within the fandom and I was like anthros? and kept coming across them never in rl sadly, but i definitely started getting into it. and then found a specific species(dutch angel dragons) the story behind it was similar to my own and the fact it was my 2 favorite things put together dragons and horses. yea. now Im in the middle of getting my first suit.
I actually must thank Zootopia for turning me furry :D I always had an interest in anthropomorphic tv characters, but only after watching Zootopia (one year late - yeah, I know) and then looking up on TH-cam, I found Majira Strawberry's channel and that introduced me to the fandom :)
The furry label for me, didn't come until around high school in the early 2000's, and I started drawing the characters. At that point I discovered the online community and delved headlong into comics via the now defunct FurNation site. The core concept of it however, has been with me ever since I literally had Rescue Rangers' Gadget as an imaginary friend when I was 6.
I showed my friend a picture of Isabelle in a doom guy suit this was during the animal crossing doom eternal memes and he called the picture yiffy I looked up what yiff meant and I went to the images and uh you can guess what happened afterwards
It’s kinda of a long story but I had, a love and passion for cartoons, also the movies bolt inspired me cause of how cute he is, also I been inspired by artist who made beautiful artwork and I want to be an artist than I saw some furry video and it was interesting than I saw furry video cons and they were fun to watch so here I am learning 2 draw and here to be part of the fandom and have fun
I was really into Zootopia and Robin Hood and I really liked Drawing and my friend Introduce me to the furry fandom :> I love the community I help me figure out my sexuality, meet my girlfriend , and got me more into art. I also love how accepting the community is.
To become a furry, you have to watch alot of cartoons, animated movies, and look at tons of anthropomorphic art! I know that may sounds too much, but do this in a moderately way!
I found yiff on reddit , thats how it started . I was curious about yiff and on wilipedia i searched yiff and there was this article that had the word furry highlighted so i was like 'what da (bleep) is a furry?'and i searched furry and i found an article and i was like 'ya know what , this sounds kinda fun ' and a year later , here i am , my fursona is a protogen ( i decided my fursona before it was super mega popular)
When it comes to the sexual side of the furry fandom, people often forget Rule 34 is a thing. Sex art is not a furry thing, it's a human thing, present in all fandoms, and even outside of fandoms.
How did I become a furry? Officially, it happened in sophomore year of highschool. I would be bored in classes, draw anthro characters. I just always kinda had done that since elementary school having been fascinated with cartoons like Sonic and Road Rovers. Day comes that our orchestra teacher is absent; meant I now had a free period. I start doodling random fox-person #187325. Person next to me (a senior, symphonic orchestra was not grade-level segregated, just skill segregated) see my drawing. Asks if I have others. I say yes, show here my notebook dedicated to animal-people. Her: "Oh! You're a furry!" Me: "A what?" Her: "You. Are. A. Furry. That's pretty cool. I'm a Were, so I don't normally hang around with furries, but you're okay. Here, go to this website, you'll understand." She writes down the address for Yerf (this was like 2000, so it was still around and used). And that's when I found out I was, apparently, a furry. Downloaded ICQ, since that was apparently the popular messenger of the time and started bothering people online shortly there after. Unofficially? I guess I was always one? I just didn't know there were other people like me until I had access to the internet.
I'm so glad my friends got me in the furry fandom! I wouldn't be able to find anyone like you or other furry TH-camrs! Wooo Furry Pride, ignore the Haters!!
Oh gid wiki how is just a farm for cursed animal drawing. I was exited to see how they would look and i was not dissapointed. ⬇️Story time⬇️ The story for me is weird and a bit long . I made a dragon cheetah charicter for the mlp fandom and i would be in these mlp roleplays (I met a long life freind along the way )but then i met this furry in one of these furrys that took intresst in one of my anthro charicters called alice. They had telephone in their banner so i asked about it then they sent me a telephone vid i got curious and kinda just went off. And really enjoyed makeing a fursona and expressing myself through my fursona. I came here for the artwork stayed for the community.
I think when I began to Roleplay with 12 years I has a few contacts to the Fandom and also had an slightly anthropomorphic character but never knew about the Fandom. Last year I read a comic which I found in the internet and I loved it really much but since January 2019 it doesn't continue. This made me really sad so I searched for more pages of the comic. Instead of more pages I found a Wikifur article about it and so found the Fandom ^^ (since that I try to continue the comic in an FF XP)
my friend had a conversation about furries with me. At the time I didn't know what furries were, but all I knew was that she was one. Well after I did some research I found out that furries have one of the kindest and most welcoming fandoms around, which then made me want to join
About 2 years ago i met the furry fandom while i was watching random videos on yt, and i thought: wow, i want to be a furry, but i don't know if i like anthro animals that much. So, i forgot about furries for a while, but a few months ago i found Chipflake's channel, after that a Foofi's video appeared on my recommended, then i found Fluke, Tirox, Majira, etc. And that's how i became a furry!
I became a furry when I was 13 I'm now 19 I was going through a bad time when my dad died and I just found the suits and art amazing and then I made a fursona and ended up being more accepted by this fandom then I ever felt in life and well I ended up falling in love with this fandom and now I don't plan on leaving this fandom saved my life I was literally on the edge of completely giving up
I suggest Telegram. I can't stand Twitter since it feels too much like news, and it's insanely easy to start drama. Of course with Telegram, it depends on what groups you joined. Some are bad, some awesome! I first joined a local group, which has been awesome since we plan meetups and it's a great way to connect with others. I started with local art trades and wearing a fursuit I made at local sci-fi/anime cons which was what got me into doing art and stuff. I am a student, so I don't have a lot of time for stuff, but I'm starting with some personal fursuits since I already cosplay. I'm working on Lucario and a premade fursuit next, and I really enjoy it. Definitely try comic cons before furry cons. A lot of them are furry friendly so look into if there are any furry meets of panels at comic, anime, and fantasy cons. Small cons are definitely good. I'm going to my first furry con this summer, and there are only around 200 people there, compared to our sci-fi con at around 10,000. Should be fun!
I became a furry on October 16th 2018 I was going through youtube and I saw a video of majira the video of his I saw was furry dares part 2 with booker and Frankie I saw it and I was like oh this is cool and yea over a year later Im subbed to 30+ furry youtubers including you ash I have lots of online furry friends and yea life is good for me
It’s the best and I want to eventually see majira hit 1,000,000 subscribers and be the first furry youtuber in history to hit 1 million and get the golden play button I say that will happen in 2024
At first I used to look up anthropomorphic art didn't really realize it was furry related until someone pointed out at me I've always been a fan of cartoon animal and artwork grown up from being a 90s kid I watched a lot of Disney and a lot of animal related movies I accidentally came across some anthropomorphic Art online and then one side saw some I kept looking up and different ways until someone told me what it was and when I found out what it was that's when I started joining social online community of furries like for Infinity deviantART and I've always wore as tall at some point and still this day I still wear a tail and ears
When I've seen the video by the first time. I didn't have idea to comment. Well. I've remembered the WikiHow memes (Specially QPark vids), where a person sees tutorials and make one of the poses. And It's bloody funny
I became a furry by one of my friends making fun of some of the class being furries, including me as a joke because I wore foxy ears during the Halloween dance. I didn't think about it at first but then curiosity got to me one day, so I searched it up near the end of the school year. I grew to like the fandom after finding a couple TH-camrs that are apart of the furry fandom and researching things that were apart of the fandom. I'm very happy in the fandom, and I don't regret joining!
So how I became a Furry.... I think it was 2017 where not only I was defending the fandom while being curious about it. It also towards then I’m just like “ oh I’m a furry” And that’s that
I just became a furry like two weeks ago? I've been a strong ally for furries and would go on rants on ig about how bullying furries is not okay and they don't deserve the bad rep they get. But while defending furries, I never thought myself to be one. Finally I decided to become a furry after watching nina xann! I said I couldnt be a furry cus i didnt know how to draw animals and always made them look more human. But her style inspired me! And yeah! I made my fursona, ditched her, made ANOTHER fursona, sucked into the fandom. Joined furry amino, followed furry artists and fursuit makers I liked, subscribed to furry youtubers (after making a youtube channel to be a furry youtuber myself ^^) I have fallen very quickly into the rabbit hole and its the HAPPIEST I've been. Looking for furry friends!! I only have one ^^
I think a lot of people can relate with how I got introduced to the fandom. My friends + the internet would talk about how weird and cringe they are, I was like "yeah those people are strange haha", I got interested over time, and now here I am with a silly profile picture of a pig I made years ago in MS Paint that I have yet to change.
Before I joined the furry fandom I was a mascot performer for 4 years although I was already in the fandom. I fell in love with being a mascot that when I was mascot performer at Powerplay Entertainment Center in Kansas City Missouri being in the suit I never wanted to take the suit off. And I actually ran rides in suit of course I did that when my handler ditched me and when the ride operators were lazy. Guests loved it. Anyways I joined the Fandom after watching Lion King when I was getting close to graduating from high school I opened up my first furry social media profiles last summer as I was a bit nervous coming out. Almost everyone that found out or that I told that I was a furry they were very supportive. I actually started looking into the fandom in 2018. 2018 all I did was do some research before I opened up my account in 2019. This summer it'll be my two year anniversary as a furry. I have a cheap$298 Timon suit just until I get my fursuit. 2019 I started researching local fur meets in Kansas City then that's when I noticed KC Fur it's a group of furries in the Greater Kansas City area. I've attended fur meets in Kansas City they're usually dinner meets at a restaurant. I'm proud of being a furry it kinda picked me at the same time.
Well, I got into the furry fandom since I've been absolutely obsessed with funny animal cartoons when I was young and had an overwhelming like for animated media that features anthropomorphic animals as characters. Plus I draw lots of fanart of these characters every so often when I have free time.
I was introduced by my friend who always wore a tail to school, I thought it looked awesome and asked my mom for one and she got it for me, I wore that tail every day for the rest of 8th grade. Though I stopped after that because people kept tugging on it. But I still wear it at home.
So it's quite interesting... I am and always have been a Therian/Otherkin. I am a Suntherian / Cladotherian so it's always been ingrained in me to be infused with animal, for me the Equine/Equuis spectrum. Even still I never knew furry until about 4 years ago. Up till then I always LOVED to cosplay for like anime and stuff and when I saw the fursuits I always admired them and wanted them. It wasn't until about a month ago that I finally understood that just because I didn't have a fursuit yet doesn't NOT make me a furry... I totally am a fucking furry and will be working on my own fursona and working through the pandemic to finally have something to bring to cons once they are open up again.
I've always had a deep connection to furry fandom for a long time since I grew up on Disney and horse like movies like racing stripes and i always enjoyed drawing because of my autistic abilities.
I think I just always was a furry. I liked anthro animals since childhood, but I found out I was one through art. I actually had an oc before knowing what a furry is and when the whole thing blew up I was just like- *o h I guess I am that* Never had a problem with that tho
@@AshCoyote I totally agree!I think it's stunning how many people become furries through relationships. (example: Many of my friends got themselves Ocs after they saw that I have one. It's just so amazing seeing what kind of an impact you can have on others)
I think that burning out a VHS machine by watching 101 dalmatians and still watching my favorite anthropomorphic cartoons gives me a pretty good background as well as realizing I was one when I discovered that the fandom exists It kinda became me
I was first (poorly) told how sex works, then I learner “properly” from certain porn sites, and with my sexual appetite on a hair trigger, I realised a lot of anthro characters I like and have liked didn't actually wear clothes, and even when they did, I wondered how they would look without them, from there, I had many sexual fantasy buddies, finally settling on a large owl. It's been pretty recently that I've actually been getting into the Furry community, I subbed to you a few weeks ago.
I never became a furry, furry became me.
You are one with the furry

I found out about the furry fandom through the My little pony fandom. I follow several MLP artist on instagram, and one day, one of them posted a drawing of this shark-girl with pink hair, and in the description it said it was her shark sona. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I didn't know what it was, so I just typed shark sona into youtube and a video of Stormi the Folf came up. I watched it and thought about how cute his fursuit was. I became a furry because of Tails and Sonic and more and I like art
OMG me too! the art and friendships are what have kept me in the fandom for so long.
I think that is one of the coolest aspects of the fandom its more about what you choose to make of it! It can be many things to many different people
I became a fan of Goldenwolf's art and other anthro artists some 15+ years ago.
^__^ that's awesome
Good choices!
Thank you friends ^^
I actually just started going to local furmeets...at the start of March. Great timing, as always
8:46 *when the most local furry convention IS Anthrocon* :)
Ash keeps RPing with the people in the pics
>.> LOL
My furry inspiration was Curlew from the 1963 Disney film The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. So, my parents thought there was something seriously wrong with me. Such a relief to discover furry fandom. I may be crazy, but furries were the lunatics I had always longed for.
AAAAHHHH UR FURSUIT IS SO PRETTY
this episode is *hilarious* xd
Omg I'm so glad you liked it! I tried to let a little more of my weird humor out
I love that fursuit Ash it's so awesome, and hot I just wish I had one and I wish I would be a great furry drawler like you I need help
“Before you travel half way across the U.S to anthro-“
**Laughs in “close to anthro already**
I became a furry when I saw a dance comp on TH-cam in 2018 and i fell in love instantly and I've always loved.cartoon animal movies
I saw cool furry art on Pinterest and got interested in furries
I started drawing wolves and stuff In 6th grade and overtime turned into a furry, I made my first sona in 8th grade
Every single time I see that adorable face, I'm like "Aww, coyote kisses. ^^ "
My youngest brother introduced me to fury Yayoi visual novels and I already liked anthro characters one of my favorite characters is Robin Hood and Balto the famous sled 🐕 dog.💜😎
Robin hood is what got me into the fandom that movie was just perfect
This channel is so cool it's informative and pretty funny
I started off as a brony but alot went down and i had met other furries within the fandom and I was like anthros? and kept coming across them never in rl sadly, but i definitely started getting into it. and then found a specific species(dutch angel dragons) the story behind it was similar to my own and the fact it was my 2 favorite things put together dragons and horses. yea. now Im in the middle of getting my first suit.
I have a lot of friends that found furry through MLP, its always interesting how many different gateways there are into the fandom
I actually must thank Zootopia for turning me furry :D I always had an interest in anthropomorphic tv characters, but only after watching Zootopia (one year late - yeah, I know) and then looking up on TH-cam, I found Majira Strawberry's channel and that introduced me to the fandom :)
I think zootopia did that for a lot of folks! Still one of my favorite films of all time
Yes! Mine too
JerryBlueberry I think JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is better than Zootopia NGL
The furry label for me, didn't come until around high school in the early 2000's, and I started drawing the characters. At that point I discovered the online community and delved headlong into comics via the now defunct FurNation site. The core concept of it however, has been with me ever since I literally had Rescue Rangers' Gadget as an imaginary friend when I was 6.
A friend from college got me into the fandom
I showed my friend a picture of Isabelle in a doom guy suit this was during the animal crossing doom eternal memes and he called the picture yiffy I looked up what yiff meant and I went to the images and uh you can guess what happened afterwards
ash,you are so funny and inspiational and i can not wait to see more of you!
I became a furry because I had a friend who watched you and I started watching you too
I grew up watching talking animals at the age of 2 and when I turned 3 or 4 I watched spirit and that's what my connection and love for horses.
I’ve been a furry for about a year and a half started in September 2018 and got pulled further into the fandom from Lumunix’s fursuit unboxing
That's so freaking cool
i became a furry because of odds1out and then looking what a furry is on urban dictionary
I was up at 12am, I sucked at drawing. I wondered if it would be easier to draw animals. It is. Now I’m saving up for a fursuit :)
To become a furry, you have to watch alot of cartoons, animated movies, and look at tons of anthropomorphic art! I know that may sounds too much, but do this in a moderately way!
XP I mean that is one way to do it!
Liked the fandom, but hadn't really considered being a part of it until a couple years ago, when a friend showed me their suit
When it comes to the sexual side of the furry fandom, people often forget Rule 34 is a thing. Sex art is not a furry thing, it's a human thing, present in all fandoms, and even outside of fandoms.
T h e l i p s t i c k.
Legends will know what I am talking about XDDD
Omg right?! 💄😇
wink wink nudge nudge
How did I become a furry?
Officially, it happened in sophomore year of highschool. I would be bored in classes, draw anthro characters. I just always kinda had done that since elementary school having been fascinated with cartoons like Sonic and Road Rovers.
Day comes that our orchestra teacher is absent; meant I now had a free period. I start doodling random fox-person #187325. Person next to me (a senior, symphonic orchestra was not grade-level segregated, just skill segregated) see my drawing. Asks if I have others. I say yes, show here my notebook dedicated to animal-people.
Her: "Oh! You're a furry!"
Me: "A what?"
Her: "You. Are. A. Furry. That's pretty cool. I'm a Were, so I don't normally hang around with furries, but you're okay. Here, go to this website, you'll understand."
She writes down the address for Yerf (this was like 2000, so it was still around and used).
And that's when I found out I was, apparently, a furry. Downloaded ICQ, since that was apparently the popular messenger of the time and started bothering people online shortly there after.
Unofficially?
I guess I was always one? I just didn't know there were other people like me until I had access to the internet.
Love that your classmate was so supportive!
@@ChipFox She was indeed. Made high school that year much more palatable actually.
Actually, I'd say it really enriched my life, come to think on it!
⬇️Story time⬇️
The story for me is weird and a bit long .
That's so cool! Glad your here :)
And I kinda rly liked anthropomorphic animals lol
About 2 years ago i met the furry fandom while i was watching random videos on yt, and i thought: wow, i want to be a furry, but i don't know if i like anthro animals that much. So, i forgot about furries for a while, but a few months ago i found Chipflake's channel, after that a Foofi's video appeared on my recommended, then i found Fluke, Tirox, Majira, etc. And that's how i became a furry!
Did some research, learned a lot, realized I like this community.
I became a furry when I was 13 I'm now 19 I was going through a bad time when my dad died and I just found the suits and art amazing and then I made a fursona and ended up being more accepted by this fandom then I ever felt in life and well I ended up falling in love with this fandom and now I don't plan on leaving this fandom saved my life I was literally on the edge of completely giving up
I don't know. I just kinda... so I found the fandom online and I just went "yep. I'm one of these"
I suggest Telegram.
Telegram is a great option honestly
I became a furry on October 16th 2018 I was going through youtube and I saw a video of majira the video of his I saw was furry dares part 2 with booker and Frankie I saw it and I was like oh this is cool and yea over a year later Im subbed to 30+ furry youtubers including you ash I have lots of online furry friends and yea life is good for me
That's so awesome! I love the furry community on TH-cam
Here is a link to her actual Twitter Take a look at Ash Coyote (@AshCoyote): twitter.com/AshCoyote?s=09
Thanks for converting me Majira
Edit: omg Ash liked my comment :))) most of the furry utube was responsible and i adore ur channel :D
LOL I think he converted a lot of folks.
Ash's commentary is the best! UWU UWU UWU
So how I became a Furry....
I think it was 2017 where not only I was defending the fandom while being curious about it. It also towards then I’m just like “ oh I’m a furry”
And that’s that
I just became a furry like two weeks ago?
I found your channel, and began transforming into a furry artist
That's so cool omg
@@AshCoyote I've always been wondering how to send fanart, can you give me some pointers on where I can send you my traditional artworks?
@@ZZ-ht6uy I need to setup a po box the traditional ones. But you're welcome to take a photo and send it to me on Twitter
Well,
I got into the furry fandom since I've been absolutely obsessed with funny animal cartoons when I was young and had an overwhelming like for animated media that features anthropomorphic animals as characters.
I actually had an oc before knowing what a furry is and when the whole thing blew up I was just like-
*o h I guess I am that*
Never had a problem with that tho
It's interesting how we all kinda find it in different ways
@@AshCoyote I totally agree!I think it's stunning how many people become furries through relationships. (example: Many of my friends got themselves Ocs after they saw that I have one. It's just so amazing seeing what kind of an impact you can have on others)
The "no.. duh" comment was just adorable xD
