Not a fursuit, but I once ordered some photoshop software off ebay. They advertised it as new unopened. Although when I received it, it was opened and obviously a burned CD with a printed key. When I made a negative review saying exactly that they messaged me offering me stuff to remove my review. I left the negative review. I'm very hesitant to order off ebay since I'm convinced that is why some sellers have good reviews.
3:43 Pixellation around the crotch area looks like it's actually trying to hide a watermark (and the watermark looks like it was added by ANOTHER bootleg seller theyre ripping off!)
Not everyone is going to have the most top notch suit out there, especially beginners that make their own suits. The difference is, there is _effort_ put into those ones, be it you bought it or made it yourself. These are rip off factory pumped suits, there was no effort or love put into it.
I think people confuse mascots and Hollywood props to actual, genuine fursuits and that in itself is scary. Especially hearing that eBay mass produces actual fursuit creators. The only thing I've brought from eBay is a pillow and I'm kind of scared to search for a fursuit on eBay in general.
I bet me making a suit by hand with no help, the cheapest materials and no experience would look better than those suits, although if I ever did make one I'd definitely get help and decent quality fur
Oh yeah I have seen a knockoff cosmic woofy fursuit at fur the more 2020. It was certainly wild to see them in person, though I didn't personally interact with them
I've seen Shadow Raccoon's video on stolen fursuits earlier this week. Forgot that EBay also sells these kinda suits as well. And since a lot of people use EBay, that's messed up on a major level.
If I’m being completely honest o saw a girl with a “Cotten candy wolf” that was exactly like quartz husky so it’s kinda sad to see it- but I mean come on
Nearing the end of the video, I got a TikTok ad of a guy seeing a dog fursuiter and shooing it away. Shortly after, a message appears on the screen: "Expect the Unexpected." wait, what-
Those ripoffs will probably give anybody nightmares and it sucks that they are doing that. I mean you and I don't know how many others have hit many nails on the head with vids like this. I want to thank you for showing the huge differences that are hidden in plain site.
Visible from 7:24 to 8:03 (the one you had your mouse pointer on at exactly 8:03), I might be wrong but that looks like a photo of "Acid"; a fursuit from Sydney, Australia. Difficult to be certain from that angle. I haven't (yet) been impacted directly by these scanners, but a good friend who takes our fursuit photos at conventions found one of his own photos on a scammer's website. It's frightening.
Yea it is I once made paws and tail for my self and posted pitures of it and to weeks later it was there (now my opinion they wernt the best) I was devastated. Oh yea I took them down the piture I took them down from the Web sight
Yes I am late but when I was a new fur (I was maybe 9 or 10 😬) but I always liked to go on my moms computer and look at fursuits. I would often go on Wish or EBay and look at what was for sale. These scam suits were the first thing I saw 😬 I spent quite a bit of time saving up for one. Thank god that I learned how to tell a scam apart from something legit because if I hadn't I 100% would have bought one 🤦 always be careful when buying any kind of anything on the internet lol
I’ve seen one in person I actually got to try the head on my partner was sadly scammed for one of these suits it was a black and white wolf with green eyes it was awful the mouth was not open so you can’t get anything to drink unless you take the head off it was huge on my head and it was like looking out of pin hole like if you took a pen and stabbed a piece of a paper and looked out (try) look out the hole and instead of being 3D printed or made out of foam it was made out of fleas and the cheap mesh that LavaFox uses
i decided to look on ebay for myself and some of them say FURRY COSTUME HUSKY DOG COSPLAY CARTOON whatever for 9.90 but then say 590.90 shipping, it's really funny
if you make your own suit purposely copying a design thats unacceptable. but we have to come to terms with "NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD A 10 THOUSAND DOLLAR SUIT" its RIDICULOUS the prices that they sell for. so if you want to buy a cheap "scam" fursuit with risk that you might get scammed go ahead and buy something in your budget. I love and respect fursuit makers but I would not waste my money on a 10000 dollar suit its way too much. in my opinion it's horrible that artists charge that much for a costume. yes they might look really good but the prices are waaayyyy to much its horrible.
Seen a few of the "realistic" style Ebay/Wish suits, some with customization or some without, walking around at cons. Using an off-the-shelf head as a base for a "real" one is definitely something I'm familiar with, being a raptor mask and all, just wish someone mass-market would sell actual foam bases instead of ready-to-go but kinda trash premades you have to take back apart or paint over.
It’s sad to see that people are ripping off fur suits just to make money out of people the only one mistake I made was order a fur suit, the pink one that you were mentioning because I wasn’t really clearly paying attention to what I was doing. It was the worst ever mistake I’ve ever done so please don’t make the same mistake as I did guys. Love y’all.
Thanx for the video ash..I saw these on ebay..and pondered for days..my better self said no.I love this community too much to purchase one of these.Ripping people off is not my idea of fun
I've seen some scammers on Etsy so beware, Etsy is a good place for newer makers and for people looking for cheap fursuits so a lot of people commonly check on there. The scammers name is coming sunlight on Etsy.
I guess the easiest way to spot a fake is to look at the title as well. A "Wolf dog husky long fox coyote cat furry fursuiter cosplay animal party birthday costume funny" means the seller is just trying to make sure it shows up in as many searches as possible. I'd imagine a "genuine" fursuit makers wouldn't use something like that. Also, country where it ships from is always a factor. A fursuit shipping from China sounds very dodgy, especially if there is more than one available.
Hi almost bought the scam of RiviloWolfs suit! I didn’t know it was a boot leg of hers at the time and luckily I came across her pictures and then realized omg this is a scam!

I walked in and was met with a cardboard cut out of one of these suits which was apparently their mascot. I just carried on can kept it in the back of my mind. Thankfully I haven't seen it in real life because it looked terrifying. Oof

Ash Coyote I agree and what’s with the scam suits and not shaving the fur like seriously 😑 and with the wonky jaw if it was supposed to move they probably just stuck in a taxidermy jaw TwT
You don't buying is a scam
What?
Not a fursuit, but I once ordered some photoshop software off ebay. They advertised it as new unopened. Although when I received it, it was opened and obviously a burned CD with a printed key. When I made a negative review saying exactly that they messaged me offering me stuff to remove my review. I left the negative review. I'm very hesitant to order off ebay since I'm convinced that is why some sellers have good reviews.
That has happened to me before too!
3:43 Pixellation around the crotch area looks like it's actually trying to hide a watermark (and the watermark looks like it was added by ANOTHER bootleg seller theyre ripping off!)
I know someone who almost bought one of these, thank god I told them not to. That would have been bad...
Yeah suits like these are never a good idea
@@AshCoyote Yeah... They aren't
I bet me making a suit by hand with no help, the cheapest materials and no experience would look better than those suits, although if I ever did make one I'd definitely get help and decent quality fur
i feel like all the unnecessarily pixelated parts of the image were where watermarks for the actual suit makers were in the original image
I um bought a fursuit off eBay I got the suitand it was hand made and pretty good but you know some scams
Every year some fursuit scam website that steal fursuit photo. Now more cheap knock offs. This is very concerning.
Oh yeah I have seen a knockoff cosmic woofy fursuit at fur the more 2020. It was certainly wild to see them in person, though I didn't personally interact with them
I just found ur channel and already ur personality fits the coyote and ur voice
Fursuit scams be like: TOTTALLY LEGIT!! 👌👌👌👌 XD
So are we not gonna talk about the absolute NIGHTMARE fuel on the top right corner!? 7:57
Oh my good god eww 😖🤣
I've seen Shadow Raccoon's video on stolen fursuits earlier this week. Forgot that EBay also sells these kinda suits as well. And since a lot of people use EBay, that's messed up on a major level.
Yeah there needs to be a better system to address the theft of intellectual properties like the character design
These scammers shall BURN!!
That DHC support didn’t age well…
I almost convinced my dad to get me a scam maker when I first joined the fandom, I was only nine so I didn't know, but I'm so glad I didn't get it.
Imagine one of my main Ocs with a knockoff fursuit name "Green eyed pink black edge long eared fox wolf mutt" is probably a possible one
Flame And friends productions mine would be “edgy traumatised blue eyed long fennec fox grey horn furry suit costume adults masquerade”
Mine would be "yellow droopy eye blue hunchback fursuit funny cat dragon scientist horn adult fancy dress furry beard tail
Mine would be "Blue eyed green pink yellow fruit cat wolf feline adult mascot for Halloween or parties"
Shortly after, a message appears on the screen: "Expect the Unexpected."
wait, what-
6:00
Ngl that fursuit looks quite similar to an Indonesian youtuber called Nakkikun like for real that looks a bit similar
Some of these scam suits look like my first time drawing an anthropomorphic animal (at least a headshot)
I once saw telaphone on there it broke my heart
Yeah its really sad to see
Yea it is I once made paws and tail for my self and posted pitures of it and to weeks later it was there (now my opinion they wernt the best) I was devastated. Oh yea I took them down the piture I took them down from the Web sight
Wisperes: I love ur videos!
Thank god that I learned how to tell a scam apart from something legit because if I hadn't I 100% would have bought one 🤦 always be careful when buying any kind of anything on the internet lol
i think the pixelation on the image at 3:45 is a watermark. Idk tho
Your suit is beautiful! I hope I don't get scammed when I get a fursuit maker to make my Fursuit! :0
i decided to look on ebay for myself and some of them say FURRY COSTUME HUSKY DOG COSPLAY CARTOON whatever for 9.90 but then say 590.90 shipping, it's really funny
That simba had big brain apparently
So coming from a Chinese background, there's a saying in Cantonese 能骗就骗(néng piàn jiù piàn) which literally means “Scam whenever you can”.
BODYWHY is my mantra everyday - the reason I want a custom fursuit haha
The maker that took a wallmart head and turned it into its own character thing was fennecat.
Unless someone else did it as well
14:17 my fursuit looks EXACTLY like that one, markings, eyes, colors and all, but its a LOT higher quality and i wasnt scammed 😂😂🐾🐾
7:16 I heard "Trying to get a quick f**k" at first! xD
10:15 what my computer sees as I retreat into my mind and engage in fantasy scenarios after having some drinks
4:30 that's the same face that the Walmart one had but it was orange yellowish lololol
4:00 do you know where this person comissioned their suit from or where they got it ?
if you make your own suit purposely copying a design thats unacceptable. but we have to come to terms with "NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD A 10 THOUSAND DOLLAR SUIT" its RIDICULOUS the prices that they sell for. so if you want to buy a cheap "scam" fursuit with risk that you might get scammed go ahead and buy something in your budget.
So, Ive been wanting to get into fursuiting for awhile
SO THANK YOU
I've seen some scammers on Etsy so beware, Etsy is a good place for newer makers and for people looking for cheap fursuits so a lot of people commonly check on there. The scammers name is coming sunlight on Etsy.
What's a good place to get a good custom fursuit?
I would talk to professional fursuit makers like MadeFurYou, Mixedcandy, DHC
You're the absolute best!
Seeing a rip off fursuit just extremely triggers me
I guess the easiest way to spot a fake is to look at the title as well.
Exactly! Its important to look through the listing thoroughly and try to make sure that you are not being ripped off.
Hi almost bought the scam of RiviloWolfs suit! I didn’t know it was a boot leg of hers at the time and luckily I came across her pictures and then realized omg this is a scam!
I was in a fursuit parade once and the guy in front of me had one of these 😂
Oh god-
I’m glad that ash is spreading awareness for all the things we have in the furry fandom
Now I want to see a pelican suit after that last one
Before the pandemic, I went to my local leisure centre (like a gym but not a gym) for the first time. I walked in and was met with a cardboard cut out of one of these suits which was apparently their mascot. I just carried on can kept it in the back of my mind. Thankfully I haven't seen it in real life because it looked terrifying. Oof
Imagine working for months on a bloody suit of your fursona just for someone to make a knock off version with literally the same character
Its sad that all the beautiful, well crafted, loved and cared for fur suits are being scammed like this. People work really hard on their fursonas and fur suits, and doing this to their creations is absolutely disrespectful. But there are some fur suit makers on Ebay that aren't scams, just remember that.
i haven't seen a scam fursuit owner in person, but my friend saw one at a con
I have seen a couple and they are pretty rough
@@AshCoyote OwO tysm for a reply
