  • This was me at work, spontaneously showing my Ultimate Coin Matrix routine to some of my students at the University of Mannheim. This is a slightly shortened version of my coin act which won 1st place at the 2005 SAM (Society of American Magicians) European Championships of Magic, and 7th place at the 2006 FISM (Federation Internationale des Societes Magiques) World Championships of Magic.

Thank you for sharing this. I have been watching this for years since it was a new vid, telling everyone I knew about how great your performance was. Everyone I have shown it to agrees. I now perform a few of these phases myself always prefacing the inspiration that this performance (naming you specifically) was for me. I am so happy for your successes (FISM, Fool Us, SAM, IBM...) around this effect. Your samurai skills, card effects, cups and balls, and multi-language skills are all equally as impressive. I hope to meet you during a performance at the Magic Castle when you perform there again so I can tell you in person. Thank you again for showing the rewards of practice and dedication.

RYAN OMG - It's interesting. I was blown away by your FU P&T performance. You mentioned how they inspired you with a trick. Now you have inspired me. I have always been interested in magic, even got a basic beginner set a long time ago. but there was no PASSION. This trick you shared, I wonder, if it's like the cigarette/pencil trick of P&T. You have lit the PASSION inside me. I'm practicing the first two sequences up to 2:20. I still have to figure out the rest, and I'm excited to practice the baby steps each day, and letting my unconscious begin to untangle the rest. Keep being the beast you are, your presence exudes and inspires. Knowing a trick is one thing, but a performance is quite another. You inspire me to be the performer, and to take that into personal life. It's about style, personality, individuality and tying that into your life, your movements, your actions. Layer by layer, you radiate inspiration!

Absolutely beautiful! I know this is super old video so I am late to the commenting but I just wanted to say wow! Also to people being like "Please someone tell me how this is done so I can replicate it in my routine" is fairly annoying hahaha. Like this dude Ryan worked for years to create this routine and it is unique in that sense and with his presentation. I personally dont think it should be about knowing how its done (and if you truly do want to then go learn every other coin matrix out there that has tutorial and come back watch the video a 100 times.) just so you can copy the routine move for move. That isnt original which originality is what the magic scene always needs! Ryan's matrix is pretty original but is based on move and sleights that have been created long ago! If you just copy this and try to do the same patter and everything the same not only is it not original I almost guarantee it wont look half as good because you dont have the years put in to perfect it to such a level! Go out and create your own matrix's or if you do copy at least create your own patter! I just find it cringe personally to see people asking about how a trick is done when there obviously isnt a tutorial. I mean sure would I like to know how its done? Yeah! But I will just watch it over and over and try to replicate on my own! But thats just me and I could be over judging.....again tho amaaazing matrix just great!!!

Also I didnt mean to come off harsh or anything to people who want to learn how its done I totally understand that I guess I was more talking about people who would then go and preform it the exact same way with same patter and stuff. But yeah thanks for replying dude! This video and your magic is inspirational for me, along with so many other great performers, to actually set up a full routine and go out and get some paid gigs or at least preform for people! Giving wonder to people is real magic!

I can see it. Palming, misdirection and false transfer. Take years and lots of practices to master it. Matrix is a very classic and legendary coin trick.

The palm at 4:52 is absolute poetry. Hard to see (duh) but did you actually get it on top of your knuckles and roll it down two fingers and drop it back into your hand and palm it? Kinda looks like that’s how you got it back into your hand so fast, but god damn.... it was so fast whatever you did there.
    Brilliant routine 👌
