Hey Kim! I finally _finished_ watching this, after watching most of it days ago. I decided I wanted to play along, so I loaded up the game and went through it myself to catch up to you. For what it's worth, I too turned off hints and, since I couldn't remember half of the stuff you've done, I had very similar experiences of not knowing what the heck to do half of the time, wandering around aimlessly for 10-20 minutes at a go, so you definitely weren't alone in that. I eventually tried turning hints back on because I got so frustrated, but I couldn't actually tell the difference, so I turned them back off so I'd at least be proud of myself for doing it without them, whatever they were supposed to be. I do strongly recommend turning up the gamma though. Not so it's ridiculous but it would definitely help the viewer, because I know now there's SO much more detail visible when playing the game, even with default gamma settings, than we can see in the TH-cam version. I think we miss out on some stuff. That or ask your -husband- editor to up the gamma when _rendering_ the video for upload. Alternatively, it could be because he's rendering using the wrong output color profile for TH-cam, which apparently should be "BT.709 (H.273 value: 1)" according to their help page. Additionally, there could be a setting in your capture software that should be tweaked, though I think you're using the console's built-in recording feature? Anyway, games like this apparently need to be rendered out brighter to match the original gameplay better. Oh, speaking of editing, I think maybe it might have been good to edit out the first 20 minutes, which you did do for a later period. Your existing audience is pretty small and I think we all know you and how you're chill and take your time, which I love you for, but I think for new viewers it might be hard to keep their attention if absolutely nothing happens for 20 minutes, so unless you say or do something interesting during a long span like that, he might want to clip sections like that out or run them in fast-forward maybe, I dunno. I mean, I'm okay with it, and I can play at 2x or skip forward if I can tell "this is gonna take a while", so if you aren't concerned about getting more viewers, don't sweat it, but if you do, maybe think about this. Anyway, I think this was a good choice of game! A little frustrating to play or to watch, but the story is really good. Next episode, please! 😊
Hey Felice! I'm so glad you've been enjoying this one! It has been troublesome to get the lighting and audio just right with this one. I have been increasing the brightness in post but I will look at which color profile Im using and also see about increasing the gamma in the game settings. Maybe I'll have it right by the last episode! 😂 But thank you for your input and suggestions! It is truly welcome and appreciated. I've also got a question for you. I've been talking to Kim about the idea of including some video of her into the edits in addition to her audio. It could be a pip type thing or I could use a green screen and put her as an overlay in the corner. What are your thoughts? Or should we keep it as is?
@@crimsonfilter Oh, I dunno about doing facecam. The internet is a weird, scary place. Being a voice over gameplay is one thing, but when you put your face out there, it makes it much easier for someone to form a parasocial relationship with you, especially if you're a woman, and even worse if you're cute/pretty. In my own, admittedly _very_ cautious opinion, there are way, _way_ too many randos out there with obsessive tendencies (i.e. stalker types), or people in various degrees of psychosis who think the face in the video is talking to _them_ directly, who will latch onto a content creator and make it their life's goal to be together with them forever, and that puts your whole family at risk. If it were me, and I didn't have the goal of going whole-hog with a TH-camr career and getting a bazillion subs, with all of the significant social/safety tradeoffs that come with being an internet celeb, I don't think I would make my channel any more personal/intimate than hers currently is. Sorry to be so downbeat. I'm really just saying you two should be sure you know what you're getting into before you do something like that. If she's actually up for those risks, well then I shouldn't naysay someone's ambitions-I'd just say be aware of the possible results, I guess.
@@Felice_Enellen yeah, that’s a good point! I hadn’t really considered the full scope of the potential negative effects that could come from that. Perhaps it’s best to just continue on as is. I appreciate your concern!
Sorry I'm just now replying--I think it's so cool that you're playing too 🙂 It's like a stressful walking sim 😅, but it's a great game. We're still trying to get the look of the videos just right; in the video I just posted (part 5) I hadn't messed with gamma stuff yet, but I'll look into it the next time I play. I'm trying to just do my best with the playing, in the sense where it's still my style, but not having it be too aggravating for me to play and others to watch. Usually with the games I play we don't have to edit out too much because they're usually very "point A to point B," so at the most I try to just get the bigger frustrating chunks taken out. Since this is more of a hobby, I'm trying not to stress about it too much or else I'll get overwhelmed, so I just do the best I can. ❤ I always appreciate your help and guidance.
@@wonderasiwander3964 Okay! I'm here for it regardless. 😊 I thought you might be thinking to go pro eventually, but if you see it as a hobby then I absolutely don't wanna make it less fun for you by over-analyzing the details. I see there's a new episode up, so I'm off to watch it! 🙂
You missed a note in LAMBDA, it talks about the end of the world. / Fleshers actually don't teleport. As you must be aware by now, Simon's body is just some parts stiched together with a cortex chip. This is the same reason why when other living things are near him - this includes humans too, as they have Blackboxes - there's interference thus the visual and audio glitches. Fleshers are different, however. Sheer energy they just cough up is enough to almost fry Simon's circuits, so the whole thing just shuts down but only for a moment, so they look like they teleport.
Okay, first of all, if anyone else sees this, there are *spoilers* for the ending up ahead! Okay, the question: What are the possible fate(s) of the Simon that's left behind on Earth after the last scan? I had Simon "poison" the WAU, which my understanding was that anything controlled by the WAU would eventually stop working? If so, does that include Simon, or is he immune to that?
@@wonderasiwander3964 Simon 3 is mostly likely stuck, as the omnitool got fried with rest of PHI. He won't be able to get past that bulk door. There is NOWHERE to get a new omnitool. You rode ACR for the last time, it had regular maintenance every WEEK, but it's been left to rust for months just like the rest of PATHOS-II. It won't stand. If it does, then what? The plateau is also ruined. UPSILON barely standing, what's left of LAMBDA mostly likely got wiped off the map when CURIE blew up.
