Yes! A simple liquid detergent is fine. I use dye and scent free clear liquid detergent on my white gis, woolite dark on dark gis. I also add about a cup of vinegar to the wash. I also add an extra rinse to get the vinegar smell and all the detergent out.

It’s also good to hang the gi still inside out at first. Then, once it is partially dry, turn it right side out to finish drying.
chadam2010 it dries faster and reduces the possibility of mildew.
