Welcome back to my The Tia Bee Stokes 🌺 choosing happy TH-cam channel.
Where I share LIFE FIGHTERS! My name is Tia Stokes Dear and I am a fighter, survivor, and thriver. On April 24th, 2020, my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. I was immediately admitted and began my treatments the next day. My journey included 31 days of isolation chemotherapy, losing my hair and physical abilities, mouth and body sores, and losing my mom.
I persevered through physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy while navigating the challenges of COVID and more isolation. Over the course of my journey, I received over 75 blood transfusions, underwent a bone marrow transplant, and battled GRAFT VS HOST DISEASE. But through it all, I never gave up. And now, I am in remission and living my life to the fullest.
I created this channel to share my story and inspire others to keep fighting. My fight song is “With every storm brings us closer to who we are BECOMING.” I believe every opportunity, no matter how difficult, brings us closer to our true selves. I want to encourage you to keep dancing, keep singing, and keep moving forward. The light is bright and so are you.

Wow that was great! For me personally perfectly timed. I am so happy for your progress and though life now is taking some twists and turns, it’s still a well fought for life and I’m so glad to watch you live it. Please keep vlogging and doing lives when you are up to it and have the time. It was fun to check in and hear how your day was and how you felt and what you were working on. Just bc you aren’t in the hospital and not fighting Covid and cancer doesn’t mean you aren’t fighting to have the best life you can have and that you still don’t have dark days, bad days and days you just need to vent. This video is the best culmination of your time there and there are so so many smaller stories within that time that could be learned if people watch your vlogs.
I look forward to hearing about your new home and how you make it yours and meeting new neighbors and friends and making a gorgeous new community of people. Your presence and illness though crappy really was a catalyst for bringing so many together to do good work and know each other better which will allow them also to have help if and when they come to need it. We all need help at some point and just your presence connected them so they will have a friend, a number to call in an emergency, a shoulder to cry on or a pal to help fix a broken appliance or hold the other end of something heavy.
I guess we all need someone to hold the other end of the heavy thing, eh? You’ve done it a ton and I know you will do more. Don’t forget to ask for help during this transition and seek people not just in your family but in the community. That’s how we all love each other. Go Tia go!
