There are even scorpions in Italy. I was on my family's farm and went outside one night. It was dark. When I flashed my ultraviolet light on my cellphone on the stone walls, I saw scorpions crawling on the stone walls. They were pretty small. I caught 3 of them with a jar and took them inside to see what they really looked like. They were brown and about 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches long. I looked up the species that I captured. The species was called Euscorpius Italicus. Lol
Gah, gorgeous. I have a juvenile male Asian forest scorpion (Heterometrus Longimanus) and he's super gentle and has a really interesting personality. Also way more intelligent than I was actually expecting, which I love!
I would never hold my scorpion (pictured), she's an aggy little brute and more than willing to sting, good example of how temperaments can vary between individuals, particularly arachnids.
mc lovin i have an obt tarantula which is notorious for being agressive but mine seems to be super mellow. Still would never consider handling but its nice that i an look at him without him getting into the defensive posture
Great video and very informative. I have 5 Asian forest scorpions, 2 of which are now carrying young. Just one point. I do wish people would also mention that it's stressful for the scorpion to be handled by humans and not just for the fact they can sting.
I live in Thailand and have big black Thai which I have found in the forest. It enjoys crickets and worms every other day but I am still not sure whether I should keep it in the dark all the time or follow the normal cycle of night and day. He has a nice shelter to hide under.
Pro tip: if your scorpion has a bunch of mites on it, you can put your scorpion underwater to brush them off. If your scorpion moves a lot and is aggressive you can keep the scorp underwater until it looses consciousness. Now it will be still so you can bathe it. Dont worry its not dead, once you take it out and put it back in the cage it will begin moving again after time. Back from the dead in a way. All scorpions can survive even if they are submerged for up to 2 whole days!! Its just kind of sad and disturbing to watch it squirm underwater.
This is a cool video.. I used to have scorpions as pets about 5 years ago. And, doing so I learned what their poop look like. 2 years after that. (In a different state) in a baby carrier I saw this tiny little white dots that looked soo familiar. It had me thinking for a while until i realized what it was. Yup, it was scorpion poop. So carefully i started to look for it. And never found it. Two days after I saw its poop there it was crawling on the wall. It was that moment when i felt like all that curiosity about them, all the time i spent feeding them had finally paid off. Right now I have one i caught not long ago. Its a Tijuana scorpion. ( I live in Tijuana B.C. Mex. Right now)
His voice is so soothing hahaha I love this. Next time I find a scorpion in my house (in Mexico) Im not going to toss him outside. He will be my new and upgraded version of a beta fish hahaha
Yeah my mum will not be a fan of this idea lmao Edit: for some reason I’m fine looking at scorpions and spiders act irl but I cant watch them from behind a screen for some reason

I got my first scawpean recently I have lotsve tarantulas but this is my first snip snap doggo its a Heterometrus spinifer which is a Asian forest kind
I have a Australian Scorpion which is small, around an Australian 20c coin size or the Pyramid on an American one dollar bill. He lives in a Terrarium and gets fed every month or two. I just wish I had another so I could watch their insanely interesting breeding ritual. They mate from anywhere between 1 and like 40 hours lol.
I had a pet vinegaroon a couple of decades ago. I loved that little guy! His name was Bob. They are wonderful pets. I need to get myself another sometime soon.
Recently started keeping scorpions. I now have 11. I live in Australia so am limited in what scorpions are available as not all native scorpions are available to be kept. Urodacus elongatus is the largest available to keep with males reaching 120mm and females 100mm
Went to your website. Care sheet is very vague. Some solid information about each type of scorpion would be much appreciated. I have 2 baby deathstalkers and need official information about substrate, depth, temperatures, and humidity, etc.
where do you buy crickets and worms and shit from ? im from australia and im so interested in getting a emperor scorpion. gota do alot of research before i buy obvs.
I got stung twice, I hate them and love them at the same time. I have one right now. Im not exactly sure what kind of scorpion it is. All i know is that he's mexican. (Its a male). Since i caught it in Tijuana. Oh, and by the way, being stung hurts like a biatch. It attacks the nervous system which makes it difficult to walk. The only thing i thought was cool about it was that i looked like a zombie. I had videos of it but lost them. In a weird way I cant wait till i get stung again. (But not on purpose of course, if that was the case, i would've done it by now).
My house is around 69-72 degrees. My scorpion habitat houses an asian Forrest scorpion. I am currently using both a heat Matt and a heat lamp setting the temperature to 80-95 degrees but I am rethinking keeping the heat lamp on, am I right in thinking this-what should I do?
saw a yellow scorpion in Arizona , in my room 😮. We caught it and put him back in his sandpile It's true that smaller claws mean the venom is stronger. They're are all creepy .
I’m unsure if this is mentioned in the video, but is there possibility that you are allergic to a Scorpion sting? I really want a scorpion, but I want to know the risks.
You don't need a heat pad and you can hold them. Just like tarantulas, they aren't reptiles, so this isn't necessary. It actually stresses them out. Other than that great video!
I feed my baby and juvenile scorpions immobilized/dead large crickets. They eat every last bit of it all and I don't have too worry about the prey item biting the scorpions to their size. My adult scorpions are all fed live crickets though.
@@staypostive3412 probably cricket once a week depending on size and species. Desert Hairy for example will eat and eat and get fat if you let them. You could get away with 2 large crickets at a time once a week for larger scorpions. If they aren't hungry, they just won't eat them and remove the crickets if they die. It's trial and error. Some of kine eat better than others.
Because scorpions are spiders, they have 4 sets of legs...+ the pair of claws? Crabs are crustaceans and they have 5 sets of legs including the claws... Closer examination shows that the scorpion's claws are extended mouth parts. A crab's claws are not mouth parts, they are true legs.
