It was recorded when he was still with his band, Calle 13. If the official video does not have subtitles enabled, there are versions uploaded that have the video with the lyrics in English, even if it is not the official channel.

This song has so many metaphors and references and so underrated. You should watch his documentary, I think is called "A Tour Around The World." But in this masterpiece he references to people in the verse that goes: "In the middle of the ocean I survive without a raft." That's referring to the little Cuban boy that survived on a raft; fleeing his country with his mather who perished with the others in the middle of the ocean and he is also referencing the little Syrian boy that washed up ashore trying to escape a war torned country.
