The song is actually sung as if he (residente) were the war itself, from a first person point of view almost. For this video he went to actual refugee camps for Syrians in Lebanon. The ending its a call for all of us to not blind ourselves (who are safe and wealthy) from the reality of war.
The ending really put that into perspective with the "Happy Family" vibe.
"in America we don´t have that kind of stuff"... but America, unfortunately , brings that reality to so many parts of the world!

Or the stopping of selling weapons to countries that are destroying their people? I guess it's not a government by the people, for the people. You guys have government officials and yet you do not exercise your right to demand things from your representatives as a citizen? Rresidente is all about spreading a specific message to awake the people into movement. And there is a documentary about Residente then thing and his DNA search and how he actually created this song. The whole point of his music is to actually called people to act and not be passive towards the things our government does.
@@brystahh3287 that was the message from the kid with the book of revolution. Some kids from the middle class can't accept their life while others suffers so they want a revolution in their own country. This points to the American responsibility to bring down their government

You missed a detail in the end, the family looks fake on their confort and smiles, except for the boy. The boy notices something is wrong, he's not happy, he's holding the book as a sign of wanting to make a change, even from his place of privilege.

Thank you for pointing that out. My son was the boy he was 11 when he did it and it was his first ever act, no matter how little he accepted because of the fact it was about the fake family, he didn’t go arrogant and say “no it’s too small I need something big” he wanted it and he got it

Exactly. The “Revolution” book means he’s awaken, there’s rebellion in him, he will do the right thing. He can be a leader, an artist, an intellectual, an activist. It doesn’t necessarily mean he will be a terrorist or something like that.

sometimes the spirit of revolution and liberation don´t come from the oppressed, but from those who descend from the oppressors, and have the power to infiltrate and lift the chains unnoticed. He´s showing us we have the option to change things if we were brave enough to renounce our comfort and consumerism, which promotes warfare and exploitation overseas.
No, actually the video represents the reality in Middle east caused by the war of oils that US have lead for years and that's why the representation of the white family, and the same video gives you the response and end of war, love to you neighbor

Being a victim of war is not a "lifestyle". The term lifestyle implies having a choice of what kind of life you live. Also, I think the woman in the red head covering/shawl (in the freeze shot) was a reference to the Afghan girl in the National Geographic cover back in the 1980s..
"The war looses all its fight when the enemies listen to eachother" I find that to be one of the strongest lyrics of this song.

This song. he made with musicians both countries are at war. This song is from his Album where he did his DNA then went to make music in every country his DNA show he has ancestry. There's a Documentary on Netflix. call Residente. a must Watch. Also as a filmmaker, it's good to know that Residente himself directs most of his music videos. most music videos are his ideas and direction. Residente traveled around the globe visiting the places he has heritage from according to his DNA test results. He used the inspiration from this experience to create the whole album.
There is a movie about his journey and the creation of the songs; it is called "Residente".
As a videographer you totally should react to Desencuentro of Residente too with english subtitles in the original video is such a great work of camera and stuff and it was directed by Residente himself. The lyrics are amazing too, its about his ex wife and how they got in to a point to divorce.

In the English subtitles is subtle, but the first half of the song he sings as War anthropomorphized, then he declares that War is weaker than strong, that's why it hides in death. I believe the kid's generation is going to bring about the revolution to end all wars. Hopefully.

This was my first thought at the end with the kid and the book. You can see how the kid's expression is different from that of his parents and sister because he knows truth. Basically the boy has knowledge that his parents ignore and so he has the power to make a change.
watch the documentary when he goes around the world to do music in regions where his DNA test takes him. Is on youtube as Residente.
Rene is a son writter and producer. He produces all his videos. He has 2 great documentaries. Latino America and residente. Residente is on Netflix. I have followed his carrier for 10+ years and he has grown so much. Hope you get pulled into a wormhole of his discography and videography. There are so many videos.

At the end just shows that within a family that is oblivious to reality, one is aware but he needs to hide his support for fear of being attacked by his community
After taking an Ancestry test, he decided to visit every part of the world mentioned on his results. Lead him to the middle east and what he saw first hand impacted his soul.

Hey Brystahh, im in USA and unfortunately Netflix removed the documentary. You can see it in Amazon Prime and i found it here on YT. Search for Freeman Caro; Residente-ADN. This one is in English with Spanish subtitles. I think the video doesn’t have the best quality due to being in someone else platform than in Residente’s. Hopefully you enjoy!

He's talking as the personification of war in the first two verses
Then he talks as the counterpart, as the antidote of war. That's lyrically. The video ads the dual reality lived amongst the war makers life style and the war bearers'. They do this during the instrumental part of the song in which the band (one of the legit best bands in the whole world) imitating musically the sounds of war.

Please consider watching Residente - ADN (DNA in Spanish) documentary, he decided to make that album after getting his DNA tested in order to know his genetical ascendance (get to know his ancestors better and pay them homage). He then proceeded to visit the places that showed the lowest percentage and are located in remote areas. I don't mean to spoil it but the point is that he recorded each song in every single country with local musicians and singers while also learning the current problems impacting such countries and sharing such findings with the world....
Strong message, we are all connected, we are all brothers.

@@brystahh3287 I meant to say that refugees, the victims, are demonized. War is sponsored, many times, for profits... to feed the greed of dicatators and those selling weapons and security to them. The victims end up in camps, drowned in the Mediterranean or living in ghettos... a lot of the video is about them, but you have to see through the violence.
It reminds me of what is going on in the us. Centuries of abuse and slavery reduced to broken windows. News cameras miss the real toll.

Freedom is only one sided in war. Someone thinks that it’s “their” freedom that is being taken but the face that there is a war is why freedom doesn’t really exist to a extent. I think I’m a the states we have freedoms but if you look at any media we don’t have freedom as speech as much as people think. The other countries at war are all fighting for freedoms but when we get involved(US) we make it about resources and what can your freedom do for our pockets etc… it’s all a mess.
René is a master lyricist. He's by far my favorite rapper.
