I have the Komodo in a water housing and I usually shoot manual for shots 5' and farther away. Basically infinity. I am going to try and test this app out w the water housing and see if I can shoot 3' feet in front of me. Have a pal switch it for me. Let's see! Thanks.
@@mateoallen Here are shots I am getting shooting manual. It's gorgeous, but I wanna get bubbles closer to me without having to open the housing. I am having trouble using the focus on the housing itself. So that is why I was interested in your video. We tried out the wireless focus pulling with the Komodo app (via iPad) and it was LAGGGYYY. I don’t just mean delay, it was actually pausing for a full second or two. Any input to make this a more reliable method ?
Great content. How do you think about using an iphone or an ipad as a monitor solution? How reliable is it? I was thinking to use an ipad mini 6 as a monitor.
I think using an iPad or iPhone can be helpful if you are going around adjusting lighting and need a reference, but I have found it’s not as consistent when it comes to the brightness or display quality you would want for your main display. That is just my personal opinion though.
great feature and now you can use red komodo even for TH-cam videos .that awesome
I have never liked using autofocus, so this features for TH-cam is better than a good autofocus camera. I am glad they included this!
Such an awesome feature! Thanks for sharing Matt!
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment :)
can you set the speed of the focus racking?
- never mind I see it "rack speed" : )
what ipad do you have? i see a little bit of lag

@@mateoallen Okay I see, thank you. What monitor would you suggest for the komodo?
@@ZEROFilms_ currently I have been using the small HD indie 7. It has been working great for me so far.
Did you have to purchase a lens mount to get autofocus to work
Currently I use the canon RF to EF adapter because all my lenses are EF glass. I can’t speak to the native RF mount or any PL adapters.
I had the Sigma 18-35 and was only able to adjust the shutter and Aperture with the wheel . Any ideas what I was doing wrong?
make sure you have AF enabled on the lens, and also make sure you are on the right tab in the app.
@@mateoallen appreciate the response! I got it figured out .
Hey I'm not sure how you got the App to work on the iPad, did you use the IP address method? Thanks in advance I appreciate your info.
You have to download TestFlight and then download the beta version through there
@@mateoallen Thanks man I appreciate it. Look like my iPad mini is too old for the app.
@@MoonlitFilmCo oh shoot! What year is it?
@@mateoallen I think its the original mini so 2012, haven't really felt the need to upgrade till now.
