WHEWIE another survival show ... and wow I cant believe we're seeing jeemin again. I'm so excite nd to see how this will play out and how the group will turn out to be!!!
Tbhhh I found this hard to grade as you can tell there was lots of editing to vocals and they got an actual stage and outfits which is beyond what pd101 does. but I feel like the talent is super good in this season, it was hard to rank ppl low.
comment what u agree/disagree with !! i will gladly explain ANY of my choices if you want.

That’s because she’s obviously been working hard in her training + there isn’t much competition in iland as a lot of these girls sound awful or can’t dance or struggle with stage presence or a combo of those.

Tbh I would put Yuju on B, she forgot a line, but after all she did really good, she is good at dancing and rapping, and she has the presence
I wanted to give her a B, but since the judges didn't even pass her, I gave her a C

Baggy Jeans: Koko

Unforgiven: Ryu Sarang (most standout overall performance)
Sweet Venom: Jeong Saebi
Drama: Choi Jungeon
I actually liked Nam Yuju the best in her group. Not really a fan of Koko's voice but Yui was also really good I want them 2 to be the rapping duo of the debut group.
I really liked Nam Yuju too! I really liked Koko's voice personally b/c she's giving the fierce vibe the other contestants IMO don't have at all. I hope one/all of them make it!!
i think jiwon from unforgiven deserved higher than after like people who got D's (great vid tho!!)

I agree with Jeemin in B, it sets her up for the redemption arc too, i also would put kim gyuri in B and jiyoon in A, I think yuju also will have a comeback arc in the show similar to gp999 dayeon. I thought Yeeun would be the Sohye but it seems many people are just dropping her now
I felt bad giving Jeemin a B but I had to not be biased. We all know she can do sm better. She has the best stage presence, but ngl it was kinda sad to see her have a voice crack just like she did in RUNext :(. No but I want jeemin to debut and I'm rooting for her!
I was having issues with Gyuri. I wanted to give her a B, but she judges REALLY liked her, as they portrayed on the show. After Like's an hard song and she did her best with the higher notes and compared to the other team members, she stood out. I think for ME I would give her a B. I am hoping for Yuju's comeback, she's one of my picks. Yeah for Yeeun, I unfortunately don't think I will be supporting her since this is a smaller show and I'm not too sure of her charm yet.
Eh, I disagree with giving jiyoon an A. She was lacking in stage presence imo
lingling is so robbed, i agree that shes kinda invisible / doesnt find her own flair YET but mnet is literally cutting her already mediocre screentime even more thus further feeding into the notion that shes overhyped. of course people would say shes overhyped when mnet is literally giving her 0 screentime. yeah shes not on the main vocal / main dancer level yet but she has that captivating charm, something about her aura pulls me in.
also people complaining why she got so much support when shes the only SEA representative here. she can even speak chinese which will definitely help since there are no other chinese contestants. as of now she pulled her own weight, she did not ruin any parts. unless she does suck like voice cracks / obvious moves mistake, i will still place my support for her. definitely top 4 among all of the grounds.
I agree, it's like Bahiyyih in Kepler. She barely got screen time outside of the first episode, but because she got votes still everyone thought she was over hyped 😭 They don't know how her fans literally found any clip she was in and make compilations of her performing because Mnet refused to show her being friends with everyone😭
I agree, I am actually happy Lingling is getting support despite Mnet being shady and the lack of screen time. I think the group should have a member who speaks Chinese and I understand why people want her in the group. When the fan votes come in, I think she will get in 100 percent as long as she gets out of the ground 😭

I would put Choi Soul as C or B because she made no mistakes and also originally made it into Iland, Eunchae shouldn’t be higher than her she made many vocal mistakes

•Koko A (slayed and left no crumbs,her dance,rap was great and her stage presence very natural and catchy)
•Yui A (strong rapper,strong stage presence,strong dancer,she deserves more screen time,very solid performer)
•Yuju B (her stage presence is another level,strong rapper,her vocals were pretty good there was just some mistakes,overall she ate)

To be honest I was dissapointed on every performances...I don't know if it's because recent vocal scandals but none gave me the main vocal vibe at least... just Jeongeun and she's good at dancing and rapping too but not a main vocalist...
Also are people tone deaf? Why anybody is complaining about sound system? When Koko sang it was clear they used a kind of sound arrangement to each one trainee to make it sound better. Also happened sometime in R U Next (a bit dissapointing too) but I hope production don't use it anymore because ,don't trainees have to be talented?...

i don't want to get killed in twitter for this, i will assume this is a safe place. but the trainees are all so average! i was really dissappointed, there's no main vocal, most of these girls are performers. sorry you will not convince me jungeun is main vocal material, she's just the only one who can pull high notes and sound (kinda) stable while dancing.
tbh the only strong trainees are fuko, jeemin, yuju, yui, jungeun and jiyoon. the rest i just like them for their pretty faces
agreed like none of these girls can compete with any of the Produce series main vocals, even Girls/Boys planet or even MTG though. Jungeun couldn't even stand a chance against Son Jiwoo from RUNext.
Guess the vocal game in Kpop is getting weaker every year. Glad that NMIXX and ZB1 carried this era.

Greetings from Southern California and the Western United States 🇺🇸! I saw some of the entrance performances by way of MNET on TH-cam and I agree with the group performances or as I like to call it " Channel Your Inner ", in this case Enhyphen's ( I think I got the name right 😜 ) Sweet Venom, IVE's After Like and Itzy's Cake...the three groups needed work,ASAP! They sounded like After LIFE 😵💫...no ☠️...but darn close to it, BURNT Cake and SALTY Venom ( can you cure with that?!? ). This could be even tougher than the first I-LAND or Queendom Puzzle ( The Voice ain't got nothing on this, it's a doozy, especially when you have the top names of producing the best K-Pop South Korea have to offer to the world 🌎🌍... LITERALLY! ).... but I'll need rewatch some of the recap videos though just to be ( kindly ) safe. Keep us posted on the competition and we'll see who'll find paradise or perils on I-LAND 2 : N/A, competition REALLY does have no limits!

um jiwon shouldn’t be a D, just because she got two iland in’s doesn’t mean she should be a D because she did really good !
her singing was good but she underdanced a lot it didn't match the energy of the other girls
um jiwon definitely deserves B in unforgiven. maybe switch her with kim minsol. I don't think gyuri and koko should have been A either
choi soul being chosen by the producers in episode 2 really shocked me cause i felt her vocals weren't that stable

As a follower of Produce 101 since season 1, it's quite difficult for someone to get into the A class because the judges have very high standards, so I think there are some who are not suitable to be in the A class.
I agree. I looked at the A trainees from S1 and im sorry but tjese trainees are no way close to the levels of sejeong, chungha, heo chanmi, etc.
How is Um Jiwon D??? She is literally like top 5 in Vocal. I understand thst dancers are good to have but have of the people that are getting voted for can't even sing right

some of these were very VERY generous rankings, I feel like a lot of the people that got A's didn't blend in seamlessly with the song so it felt highschool recital-y, lacking that wow factor I would say?

I know you're grading the individual trainees to determine who stays in I-LAND and who goes to Ground, but you do need to look at how the trainees work together in their group unit, especially as you're saying you're a survival show enthusiast. As an example, GP999 Ice Cream, when Dayeon had the responsibility of choreographing that song, she managed to create transitions, formations, she did a highlight for herself whilst highlighting other girls and subunits. It was a masterpiece! But it was a group mission and came across as such. For Boys Planet, Kill This Love (G Group), each trainee killed their part but what made the performance was their interaction and how each part worked together. And going back to the original I-LAND Chamber 5, each trainee brought their distinct charm to the song, but the performance worked because they worked together. When I watched the audition stages, the only performance that showed a group performance was the Baggy Jeans unit and that was because they worked together. Granted, Koko was the best of the three but Yuju was not entirely horrible because they worked as a unit. Yui had obvious hip-hop training but lacked Koko's all rounder skills. Although you grade some of the trainees with an A, for example the Drama unit, I found that unit to be almost unwatchable as a group as they were borderline preening and that's not what I want to see. If you go back and watch the original aespa MV, wow, the power in their movements, there is purpose in how they interact with each other, how they interact with the camera, they don't have to preen, their presence is power. I understand these girls are trainees and don't yet know the meaning of being an idol but this is a learning moment.
Very true statement! Baggy Jeans team worked so well tgt and i think they had the best synergy out of all the groups! I think performance wise, they would be AAB or ABB but the judges seemed to not love yuju’s performance, especially as the judges are “performance directors”.
@@KPOPTrashLyrics ABC was a correct assessment for Baggy Jeans. Koko is a good all rounder; Yui is a better dancer than she is a vocalist; Yuju needs to pick up her feet and have more fluidity in her movements but the point was as you said the group synergy. All of the missions are group missions, the interactions are within a group setting. Son Sung Deuk/HYBE made a comment about knowing how to support the center when you’re not the center, the different energy it takes while still matching the group energy. You learn while doing that with your team. I hope the mentors impart that type of critical thinking to the trainees.

For Unforgiven, I agree, I think my A's may have been a bit generous. I kinda saw them as "first group to go usually gets nicer evaluations". The judges seemed to like Sarang and Juwon. But compared to others, they would be B. I think I would change that tbh. How I saw it too was like "put them in A and see how they stand" kinda vibe

Wad Park Yeeun that bad? I know she wasn’t as good as Fuko and Gyuri, and she was slightly off her position during the dance, but I think she still did better than Nana overall. I would give her a D.
I gave a an F because she didn’t match up to many of the other contestants. She showed she needs some foundational work based on her mistakes. F isn’t bad, it just means she needs to work on her basics to improve

I expected more for an "Avengers" team as well. With Mai, I think she has so much potential, her voice for me was just very scratchy and changed the vibe of the song. Her dance is very good like did u see that high kick????
Jiyoon - yes - I know what you mean. I think her voice didn't fit for some lines, but she's one of the more promising vocals than what we saw so far. But I think a C is a fair grade for her too despite her being a "good vocalist".

Unbiased listener here....for drama Mai is definitely F same with Jeemin, Jiyoon is the best person in drama she should get an A and Jungeun get a B because she sounded very nasal there. I have learnt you are very lenient in these rankings as you rank them as A when they have pitchiness.
After Like sounds terrible they are insulting Yujin and Liz in this song. They completely murdered it.
It was a bad choice because not many can live up to Yujin's and Liz's high notes and the balance of IVE.
