Hey all! Love the feedback. A couple of ppl reminded me i forgot the twinkle girls OMG. I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE THEY WERE NOT HERE. I MADE A GRADING AND EVERYTHING FOR THEM 😭😭😭 I gave YaLe a D and the others F but I don’t completely agree with my own rating

I remember the twins saying that they wanted to show their dance skills better but mnet gave a cute and high pitched song

I agree with 90% of this list, few changes I would make is:
Give chaehyun a B instead of C cause it was just one mistake and she still did very well for the rest of the performance
And cho haeun an F, her vocals were pretty unstable and she definitely needs more training so I wouldn’t place her above bahiyyih and hyewon
And most of these girls also didn’t do that well in the demo stage because mnet didn’t choose the right songs for them, I wish they got to choose their own songs to perform, xia yan absolutely slayed in HYLT and did so much better than violeta, xingqiao was done kinda dirty too, it’s obvious that her vocal range is not fit for doing a song like rumor
-Chaehyun got a C mostly because her performance was a bit underwhelming considering her training and her dance was off (the highnote was unoticeable to i kind of discounted it but since it was a big deal on the show - i factored it in)
-Haeun: now that everyone's commenting, i'm kinda rethinking her grade
-SAME. I wish they got to choose their songs :( They would shine more and obv do better.

Most of those song choices were terrible, I was wondering if Mnet chose the songs and groups because it seemed so weird that they would all choose mostly popular newer songs that is WAYYY out of their vocal range. Like you would usually find out what each member of your group can do and then pick a song that would complement everyone's abilities.
(I will say that I thought it was possible that they chose the songs themselves, as a lot of the choices seemed like what kpop fans would pick if given the choice, but there was also something very off about the different choices.)
It brushed my ego when you said Yeyoung and Dayeon would get an A, damn right they would that performance was absolutely legendary
They deserves so much more , this shows make me boiled up with just what the masters did to dayeon and yeyoung🙄

Yeah, and sadly this a tactic that is also used in talent shows like American Idol, the voice and X factor. The people don't even get to pic the audition song that we see on TV. It's sad and very unfair to the artists. But it seems like it's a common thing in music competitions. That's why we end up with so many bad performances with good singers.
I think this is more like Produce 48 standard as I can see you give Caibing an A. Just imagine if you’re judging as BoA like season 2 Produce 101 or even as a Bae Yoon Jeong. The ‘A’ trainees would be most likely to be dropped less than 10 especially if judging as BoA, as the standard is like 75% skill and the rest is personality and aura.
you’re spot on! there were sm factors to consider and esp with pd48 there was a huge focus on star ability but also since she got a top 9 i was like caibing is def an A. Also, they treat boys + girls a bit differently but even then, smo like cai bing is best a C in skills but the other factors gave her an A.
Yeah, I doubt Cai Bing would have been given an A as she made a mistake during Helicopter if this were on Produce 101
I think it didnt even reach to produce 48's standard. Almost the B class cracked their voice and some people of A group didnt deserve at all.

pd101 s1 theme song is very simple and easy..there is no highnote and the dance is very easy to learn unlike pd48 theme song..the song is hard to sing while dancing because of the highnote and the choreography is more hard and so detailed + the japanese trainee need to sing the song in korean and some of them can't memorize the lyrics well

well, the reason why some did so good is because the producers choose the song, that's why some of them shined more than other's (like Xiaoting in Rumor or Yurina in fancy) and this is absolutely NOT hating towards them.

if sunmi, tiffany, yujin is not there I doubt mnet would ask them to cover siren, twinkle and helicopter

A bit of these are questionable.
Nagomi and Mashiro deserve A. Their whole performance can be considered a perfect one.
Hyewon and Bahiyyih definitely above Haeun as they were the only stable ones in their group
Imo Mashiro and Nagomi's performance is better than Yurina's so I think they would also get an A. And if it's like produce the theme song evaluation would be the next part and probably the K,C,J01-05 would be the A ranks.
Mashiro's eyes were dead rather than fierce, note that she wasn't even a Top 9 candidate for this round. Nagomi may get an A

My changes:
Dumdi Dumdi; both in A. I feel like P101 valued "flawless performances" over "performances that are super highly impressive in one way but maybe had a few flaws" if that makes sense. So I could see them both getting A because 0 mistakes were made and they both danced/sung damn well the whole time.
Black: at least B. Soloists are valued a lot in both shows and despite shaky vocals, I can see it being excused because of the shock of "Wow, she's doing a BoA song solo and actually did pretty well?"
Paradise Lost: at least B. Similar point to Moana with Black; the coaches are aware how hard Paradise Lost is to perform solo, so the shock of that would offset some slightly shaky vocals.
Maria: both C. Feels like a lot of the P101 coaches would have a problem with the vocals here (the technique is just outright wrong, they're trying to mimic the vocals of Hwasa and Wheein which means they have a ton of tension that I think would be commented on. Their dance was also out of sync at some parts, but got better as it went on).
Siren: probably C. I love Ziyin SO much but Produce really highlights screwed up high notes, and she was off key a few times unfortunately. She's way more talented than she showcased here, so I think they'd give a C.
Violeta: I don't see them all getting Fs at all. It wasn't a bad performance, just mediocre and boring (typically Ds with a few C ranks in P101).
Crazy: Sein would probably get an A for pulling off the high note decently. If a participant does ONE thing notably well, they usually get a boosted rank.
Helicopter: Cai Bing maybe moved lower with the P101 coaches as opposed to the GP999 ones. If we're being honest, she didn't sing or rap, her dancing was just okay and the GP999 coaches are a lot more focused on the whole "aura" thing. In a Produce show I think she would get a lower rank. Probably B, maybe even C. Maybe a hot take and don't take this as me hating her or "falling victim to evil editing" but Cai Bing is mostly a pretty face with pretty lacking skills. Her dancing is, again, just okay; rather stiff with weird placements and inconsistent timing. And we haven't heard her sing or rap. I dunno. She COULD be one of those participants that get an A but immediately move down to C/D because of their skills being showcased. I think Chang Ching could potentially get higher because her vocals were actually decent here but not at all noticed by the GP999 coaches. Not super likely though.
I agree with pretty much all of this, especially the cai bing point (no hate to her) but some of her dancing is sometimes too fast, too slow or the top of her body is disjointed from the bottom half

I feel if I was being tough and went along w the narrative the judges created that “oh u guys r good and top 9 worthy but we wanted more” then they would’ve gotten a B but i didn’t feel right doing that (but yeah A/B wouldve been their grade)
Not me only realizing now that Lim Chenhan performed Roly Poly in the demo stage. Gosh I literally hyped her SO MUCH in Mic Drop but never cross my mind that she is the same person with the girl who caught my attention doing Cheon Seojin's imitation in the first episode.
finaly someone appreciate jeong jiyoon's talent. like she was self-trained and still ate up bounce back performance. it's not only her vocals are on point, she was killing the dance too

remember, they said they'd also be taking into account the "star quality." although dumdi dumdi team did better in the technical aspect, both yurina and cai bing had exceeding auras and charisma. as absurd as this sounds, this was how it worked for produce101-for example, sakura miyawaki getting an A despite her decent performance. she just had that star quality and charm that was taken into consideration by the judges-and this youtuber did exactly that because that's the whole premise of this video in the first place. :)

I'm kind of annoyed with the Cai Bing slander. After her being mistranslated, everyone suddenly began discrediting literally everything that she has done and calling her just a pretty face. In that performance, she did have really good stage presence, and her vocal tone stood out a lot in contrast to the vocalists in the performance (Fu Yaning was also great). Cai Bing does struggle with consistency and rhythm, but she has very pretty dance lines that make her alluring, and there are times when her dance is actually really good technique-wise too. It's just that it fluctuates. Also, I think she does have a unique charisma that isn't easily found. What makes some idol groups more popular than others is not necessarily technique, as most idols have good technique, but some unique elements that make the members charismatic and stand out. To me, Cai Bing has that.

I think Okazaki Momoko from the 1000% performance atleast deserve a D grade. I mean if you listen close enough she's the only stable one in their group, and her dance is also clean. Wen Zhe atleast deserve a C. Seungeun deserves a B, i mean she got all what it takes, her vocals only shakes a bit but her performance is really good. Nagomi and Mashiro deserves an A, their performance is really stable so i think they deserve to be in A
Edit: Xingqiao i think needs to be in F, her vocals is very unstable the whole performance so as her dance. Cai Bing, if only she's not a top 9 member, would atleast deserve a C. She's off beat a few times and looks kinda stiff.
Okazaki Momoko was my pick and she is a C in this presentation but if mnet wouldn't chose the song, she had could an A or a B. She is a full package, is so sad that she didn't make it
I'm going to pass the defense list to Yaning in case something, so they don't start hating her.
Well the case of my Yaning is complicated, I'm going to talk to see if I remove the blindfold from the haters.
1. She is forced to act like this, even one of the girls who has already left the show said that she got along very well with Yaning and said that it helped her to dance, sing and rap better and that she was one of the best partners. , Liang Qiao Also when she exposed Mnet she said that the Yujin and Yaning scene was forced, and that Yaning gets along very well with all the girls on the show.
2. For what she said about yujin she apologized, but that was a montage to attract more people to the program, which was confirmed by liang Jiao when she left the program, and if she says so, it is because she was there and so lived herself in person, (and in fact that explains why it was one of the only things that happened in the advance of the first chapter just for people to be interested in knowing what happened and going to see it is only to sell) They say that she is a "spoiled woman who disrespects her elders" Yujin and Yaning only have a year difference in age (and I know that Korea, even if you are only a month apart or something, is already your elder and you have to respect it, but for me it would have been worse if he had messed with a girl of 30 or more) And also Yaning did not say it in a bad mood, because after all Yujin did the dance and everyone laughed, and they were not enemies, at all , Yujin said that Yaning was amazing, and in chapter 5 when Yaning saved with her cell between Those who congratulated them was Yujin, showing that they do not have a bad friendship, in fact quite the opposite, Yujin was happy for her.

4. What happened to Dayeon is also not Yaning's fault. I think that Dayeon does not know how to work correctly in a group, that made her want to stand out alone and take the part that she wants regardless of whether the group likes it or not, I think Dayeon was very selfish and more so when he exposed his group in front of to the jurors, another thing she did not speak to the group what she felt, she just burst into tears and did not speak, if she had spoken maybe they would have given her another part or something ... But she did not, do not blame that on Yaning .
5. For those who say that Yaning wanted to stand out and others among all, let me tell you that Yaning is one of the best leaders on the show, and she cares a lot about others and helps them and wants them to be well so stop saying what They do not know.
6. What she said about the n word let me tell you that it is a separate case and she apologized, since she did not know what the word was and said that she would find out more so as not to make mistakes in the future, she apologized more than once .
7. For those who say that "she does not deserve to be in the group", that "nobody gets along with her" "that would create a bad atmosphere", let me tell you, Yaning if she deserves to be in that group, she is very talented as well as Being one of the most beautiful trainees on the show, she gets along well with most of the show, we know it thanks to the girl who came out and said it, plus we can see how well she gets along with her cellmate Suyeon, and with the other girls.

The A-F grading might varies depends on the judges/mentors. I think gp999 mentors cares a lot about 'aura/charisma' rather than skills where as pd101/pd48 strictly judging you based on skills alone (they values skills a lot rather than aura, maybe it was more like 90% skills and 10% aura). If these girls were judged by pd101/pd48 mentors such as Bae Yoonjung, Cheetah, Kahi, Soyou, Hongki, JeA maybe only 10 of them or less would get an A.
Since we know that gp999 basically season 5 of produce, I wish they went with the classic A-F grading instead separating them with top9 candidate/not, because the A-F grading sets the consistency for comparison even though it's not a determine factor for debuting.
The criteria for top9 candidate were vague and sometimes I can't understand the mentors decision, like leaving Kim Dayeon & Choi Yeyoung out from top9 candidate when imo both of them are better than some of the top9 candidate. And on the later episode the mentor told Dayeon that they kept her out of top9 on purpose because she will made it eventually, like???????
Overall, the trainees in this season are more talented than previous produce series but a lot of them can't fully show their potential esp the foreigner trainees since they have to sing in korean so a lot of them are getting eliminated too soon.
Su Rui Qi always does everything well. She sings well, dances well, raps well, has a very kind personality, she was voted the most popular by other trainees. If you see me commenting heavily on Rui Qi, I'm sorry if you're offended by it, but I can't bear to watch this amazing girl get rid of by the bad guys. I believe that there are still a lot of smart and kind people, they will be very fair to talented and hardworking people.
Su Rui Qi always works hard and strives with her passion. She deserves to debut. It's sad that so many people want to trample on her dreams. I believe if you are a smart and fair person, Su Rui Qi deserves your vote! Bad things always exist, and good things always exist, it is we who will be the guardians of Rui Qi's dream. Vote for our girl, you will never be disappointed by that decision!
My changes would be,
Fancy;
Kishida Ririka would get a D at most. Her singing was far from okay. She could have maybe been a C if she showed slightly better stage presence because the high note wasn't exactly a fail.
Murakami Yume might have been C. Her dance skills are easily the best out of the group, not to mention she had pretty good stage presence. Her singing was almost on par with Kishida Ririka, so it could be a C but I'm not sure.
Kitajima Yuna would get a D, not an F.
Black Mamba;
An Jeongmin would definetly get an A, her vocals were pretty good. She didn't have any mistakes either.
Lee Yunji would easily get a B, maybe even an A. She easily showed the best stage presence out of the 3. She has idol-like facial expressions and she easily manages to catch the camera during the performance. Her vocals weren't bad either.
Kim Chaehyun would get a B, not a C. She screwed up the high note and then lost concentration but she had really good vocals for the remaining parts of the song. Not to mention she sang like %80 of the song herself.
Dumdi Dumdi;
A for both of them. They managed to remain stable all throughout the song despite the restless choreography.
Black / Paradise Lost;
B for both.
Hug U;
Sakurai Miu would have been a B.
Boombayah;
Kamikura Rei might have been an A.
Mr. Chu;
Don't tell me you placed Haeun higher than Lee Hyewon and Bahiyyih. Haeun would have been an F, no doubt.

What in the world? Lee Sunwoo would obviously get an A.

Cai Bing would be a B at most, maybe even a C. Chia Yi might have been an A. There is no way Chang Ching would have been a D, I think she would have been a B.

C for Joung Min, D for Han Dana. Joung Min had really good stage presence.

nah performances like that are always ranked low in produce. they appeared way more amateurish than every other contestant due to mediocre vocals AND dancing. sure, maybe they have decent skills but the whole package doesn't look great.
