- By the time Post was released Björk already had a successful career, at least by Icelandic standards. She’d released her first album at age 12, and went on to front the cult avant-rock group the Sugarcubes. Then in 1993 she released her first proper solo album, Debut, to international acclaim. But it wasn’t until Post that Björk became the icon she’s known as today.

It is but I'm kind of bummed they skipped how It's Oh So Quiet and it's video lead to Dancer in the Dark and her getting best actress at the Cannes Film Festival. I don't know if every Bjork fan knows about it but it's a really good movie and I want it to get more attention.

i had no idea there were Tricky and 808 State influences within this album...it's so obvious now listening to it...good for her...this album was special from day one and has been ever since. some breathtaking melodies...
There were actually four songs done with Tricky, the other two are on his Nearly God album (Keep Your Mouth Shut and Yoga)

Post is still my favourite, though Homogenic is a damn close 2nd and Vespertine a great 3rd. Debut is her only album I'd describe as sounding a bit "dated". Biophilia is underrated.
I agreed with everything until the last sentence. Biophilia is my least favourite album because she let form overpower artistic expression, creating a very awkward and detached album with nothing much to say.

John-Alexander Matsos, I'm aware your comment are 6 months old, but I just have to chip in. You're wrong. Listen to Cosmogony and Virus. The entirety of these songs are metaphors for her relationship with Matthew Barney. Then listen to Mutual Core. She describes how much she commits to this relationship, but he doesn't reciprocate it. Eruption is the relationship failing. This theory is confirmed by Vulnicura being the forthcoming album.
Biophilia is brilliant. She manages to, like you say, maintain an amazing form, but she still gets her point across. She definitely has stuff to say.

i wonder if you should have mentioned eumir deodato's work on the arrengements. they seem to be such a revelation in this album and, apparently, were a revelation to björk at the time also.

I think it may mean something like a “cult classic” it just means that a lot of people like it. A lot of people say that for movies. Just means something is classic and liked a lot by a lot of people :) I understand how that may sound weird tho haha

This is the quintessential Björk album. It's not my favorite but it's the album that really represents what Björk is all about.
I love all albums more or less except the latest one Utopia.

How could you leave out bjork's first band in her late teens "KUKL' on Crass records. An amazing album and severely less poopy and watered down as the sugar cubes. You guys need to do your research if you are gonna be taken seriously.
KUKL is Björk's first band? I thought it was Exodus.
Can you please do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because is 2pac’s origin story, it’s the album where the man and the myth meet. Forever altered by violence, paranoia, and the consequences of lifestyle choices, 2pac was never afraid to speak his mind about what he saw unfolding all around him.

The grammys are a joke they nominate her for the most generic song, out of all songs they could have picked?? They picked it's oh so quiet?? Wasn't that a cover of someone else? Hyperballad is like one of the best songs ever written, captures so much in just one song. Smh.

I actually prefer Medulla, Biophilia, and Vulnicura to Debut.
Post was definitely her peak! Sadly, her future albums after this just went down in quality with each release getting duller and increasingly redundant. I always wondered if she partied too hard and simply lost the ability to reinvent herself.
