Can we just admire the casting skill of OUAT I mean they casted young Cora so well and Regina and Cors look like they could actually be mother and daughter.
Every time they show a villain’s backstory, I can totally see why they went evil. I mean I don’t think I would go evil if something like tht happened to me but I understand their pain
Rumplestiltskin gave Snow White the option to use the candle or not and she chose to do so. Whether Cora was evil or not Snow White just did something that is worse than telling a secret. There was also so many layers to what Snow White did as she also gave hope to Regina and lied to her in order to get Regina to put her mother's cursed (by Snow White) heart back inside her.
"I'm upset because I don't know if we'll ever see a good Regina again." Hang in there :) Not that there isn't going to be some dark days ahead, but there's light at the end of this tunnel.
AND Regina and Cora killed Johanna who was like a second mother to Snow after her own died. That was brutal, Snow was still traumatized by that when she killed Cora.
10:14 "If Snow though Regina hated her before..." Unlike with Daniel, this was an intentional hit job. Also, even if Cora was kind of a poisonous person I might be angry as well, just on priniciple, the way Snow tricked Regina into doing it with talk of being loved for once...
Fun fact: if Snow hadn't curse the heart, giving it to Regina the same, they would have a good Cora and no Dark one anymore. Instead she chooses the wrong way, saving a bad guy and getting Regina angry. And it is not a good thing if Regina is angry...she should know 😒
snow just found out that her mother was MURDERED by cora, i think anyone would have done the same thing. and then cora killed the old lady in front of snow, and we have seen cora with a heart, she would have still wanted more power and wanted to rule storybrooke, if she wasnt dying then she wouldnt have realized that regina would have been enough for her, so what snow did was awesome or else cora would have killed them and i dont think she really cared about reginas anger, she is much stronger then regina, regin ahad magic and snow had literally no magic and still took kingdom back from regina and survived for so long
you ask about when Eva became a better person. just life in general. people can change just by living. same with Snow when she was a child she was a little bratty, so what. so, was I, but I think I'm a kind person today. Cora seemed to always have a quest for power even when she was younger. it didn't really matter whether Eva was there or not. that was just fuel for the fire and a convenient excuse. Regina, on the other hand, let life experiences when she as younger lead her toward the wrong path. you can see where now she's starting to change her mind at times, but she can still be led right back into those same patterns. but it's still up to her what she does and no one else. just as Snow has to deal with what may come from what she has now done. I remember when I watched this and I still think it, " well, at least Regina finally has a *real* reason to hate Snow now".
this is what shows snow is good, she felt so bad for killing cora even when it was fair, while regina killed snows father and so many people and didnt regretted
Thank you so much for another episode reaction for Once Upon a Time... The Miller's Daughter! There are many twists and even so much more emotion that comes from this episode than I ever thought could be possible from an episode centered around Cora of all people. This episode isn't one of my favorites because it is so centered around Cora. However, it's because of the last fifteen to twenty minutes of this episode, it makes up for all that I hate about Cora. It doesn't make up for all the evil she's done and I still hate her, but these last few minutes of this episode makes me actually feel sorry for Cora just a little. And these minutes makes all the storylines with Cora that I really didn't care much for worth watching. Between Snow's, Regina's, Cora's, and Rumple's storyline in these last minutes... amazing! I was absolutely on the edge of my seat the whole time. Now, whether or not we knew before this episode how long Cora was without her heart in her chest... I don't really know for sure. Back in episode nine, The Queen of Hearts... Hook travels to Wonderland to rip out Cora's heart on Regina's behest, but when he attempts to use his hook to rip it out, Cora asks him if he is foolish enough to believe she actually kept her heart where everyone else does, revealing that her heart was not in her chest then. However, we didn't know at what point in time she took out her own heart before this. And in this episode, it's finally revealed that Cora was heartless before Regina was even born, which explains why Cora was able to be so cold and cruel towards her daughter and her husband Prince Henry, which we also learned in this episode that Cora never loved him at all. She only married him for power and so he could raise her up from being a miller's daughter. And sadly, we saw that while their marriage was an arranged marriage, Henry did genuinely seem to like Cora, and possibly even loved her at one point too. So I really feel so sad for him. However, any emotion Cora could have felt towards Regina, was taken from her the moment she removed her heart. This episode was cleverly written, but because I hate Cora, I didn't feel too much emotion like most people do. Not for her. However, I felt terrible for Regina when she loses her mother after having been the one to unknowingly kill her, as well as upon seeing the guilt and fear on Mary Margaret's face when she struggled with the choice Gold placed in front of her, and in seeing the consequences of that choice she made. I absolutely love this part of the storyline, despite how heartbreaking it was for both Regina and Mary Margaret. As for the magical chalk and Emma's protection spell being broken apparently so easily when Cora couldn't break the second barrier just as easily... it's because Cora and Regina combined their powers together, making their magic twice as powerful. Cora was on her own when trying to get into Gold's back room. I also love the brief moment between Gold and Belle when he tells Belle on the phone that she is a hero, and a woman who loved him despite the monster he was. Quite beautiful. And even Neal's moment with his father is sweet too, even though I still can't help but feel their redemption towards one another seems a bit forced. Neal has run away from his father his whole life from the moment Rumple let him fall through that portal shown in season one's episode, The Return. And we saw in Manhattan how deeply angry Neal is with Rumple. I know that Rumple is dying, and I understand that Neal doesn't want to see his father die like this, especially under the control of his dagger. However, I still just can't past how sudden the switch in Neal's behavior towards Rumple is throughout this episode. I know I'm in the minority. And that being said... I don't really care much for Cora's backstory and her lust for the power of the dagger. Her lust for power and darkness. And I hate that she had a relationship with Gold. While their scenes together were phenomenally acted by both actors, I have trouble believing that a part of her could love Rumplestiltskin because she always lusted for higher power and was able to choose all of that power over love. Even if she did have to rip her heart out in order to do so. She still chose power over Rumple beforehand. "Love is weakness"... just like Cora said to Emma at Lake Nostos in Queen of Hearts, like Cora instilled into Regina her whole life, and like the King said to young Cora in this episode. Overall... this episode was well written and the casting for young Cora was perfect really. Yep... Rose McGowan. However, Cora has always been a villain I have hated. She's a great villain, though not as good as the Evil Queen. And as a whole character, I've never liked her because she's so cruel, especially towards her own daughter. And I just don't care much for her overall storylines or backstory. However... the ending as I've said is absolutely phenomenal, so well acted by everyone in these scenes, and these last twenty minutes of the episode makes up for what I don't like about it. And that final look Regina shows on her face as she glares up at Mary Margaret upon realizing what really happened to her mother and how she was the person really responsible once Mary Margaret runs into the room and stares down at Cora in shock by what she had done... goosebumps. Regina's dark glare is absolutely amazing! :) Thank you again! I'm looking forward to your next reaction, so until then...
Loved your reaction to this episode, 'Jesus Christ' is probably the most accurate description of this series. I don't blame Snow for what she did, Cora was far worse than Regina ever was, but not having her heart played a big role in that. Young Cora was played by Rose McGowan, who was an amazing casting choice as is usually the case with OUAT. Rumple and Neal look like they're on the path to a good relationship, but Snow White has screwed up and pushed Regina over the edge again.
regina was already over edge, she was working with the women who ripped daniels heart out, regina was literally out of her mind, she blammed snow for telling a secret while stupidly works with the women who actually killed daniel, i dont get how writers wrote her
Honestly loving your reactions for the show, though I do have a question for you. This series has a spinoff show called "Once Upon a Time In Wonderland", which is only 13 episodes, and also uses flashbacks for the plot structure. The present day events of OUATIW take place during the present day events of season 2. Since all the episodes are legally available for free on the ABC website, would you be okay with watching it someday? If you had to put OUAT on hold to watch the spinoff, I think the season 3 mid-finale would be a good point to do so. I just recommend watching it before season 4. In regards to Eva, I figure that the responsibilities of eventually being a queen, and a mother, resulted in their developed maturity.
@Shelley Davis I think the quality is alright to be honest, since like the main show, the characters are very human. Though since it is largely set in Wonderland, there are instances of poor CGI, but it is a tv show budget. The reason I suggest watching it before season 4 is because one of the protagonists joins the cast for that one season. Another main character makes a couple of appearances (albeit recast) during season 6 as well, so it's good to know the gist of who they are.
Snow did a horrible thing manipulating Regina's hope to have her mother's love in order to kill Cora. That's not a heroic thing, this is low, bothers me see people thinking is "ok" for heroes being "dirty".
That's the point. None of the characters say or act like Snow's act is heroic. David kept trying to talk her out of it. Even Snow didn't see it as such. I think she was trying to justify it in her head but even she never saw it as a heroic act. Her conversation with Rumple is proof of that. It wasn't about justice. She wanted revenge. The darkness tempted her and she gave into it. And it's also why she reacts so horrified afterwards and tries in vain to stop it. As you said, it was not the murder itself that was dark because I think Cora needed to die, but the method. Using Regina to kill her.
@@erinlindsay_cpd Sure I completely get what you're saying. I think you were referring to particular people in the fandom? I've definitely seen people say that they think the act was justified but I'm not sure I've personally seen people calling snows act heroic but maybe you have. I think it's a fascinating character moment for snow but it is certainly not heroic and I personally think the show did a good job of showing that but I guess some fans didn't get that? :)
why did snow said its a herioc thing? that was literally the whole point of this ep that even heros can do bad things but see next episodes and u will see how much snow regrets it. she literally wants to die because of 1 thing she did, while regina after killing UNCOUNTABLE people regrets nothing, thats what makes snow a hero, hero is someone who learn from mistakes not someone who is robotic good
