i love seeing how different minds and people think and perceive shii bojack is such a good introspective on humanity despite half the cast not being human peak shii i love
Comedy shows can be accurate at times or remind us of things that we’ve seen in the past (even exaggerated) this happens when watching South Park or the Simpsons a lot. Not to be political but, it is a fact that history repeats itself especially when generations have passed and there isn’t anyone around to remember the pain 1st or 3rd hand. Trump ran in 2016 against a woman and in 2024 against a woman and won. This is something I thought about leading up to the election. When he won in 2024 I thought about the gun episode in Bojack Horseman. “ This country hates Women more than it loves guns.” That’s a comedic line and I thought when this episode came out that it certainly can’t be true. Just hyperbole for comedic effect written into the episode. In response to the uncertain future in the US there have been many social movements. One has been women arming themselves. I do really think it would be crazy that the only way for there to be serious gun reform would be for enough women ( people in general) to own guns and be perceived as a threat to public or at least the ruling class. I know in communities they celebrate things like more people being proud gun owners as “everyone has a right to defend themselves”. For some that seems like a cold world. When you go out into the world knowing that each person you come across no matter the situation or how they present themselves have a 50/50 shot to have a weapon on them. It makes people act different subconsciously.
