    I bought one new in 18, it's got 250 hours on it no problem with it, I have a Kawasaki with 52 deck, love it, plus I own a Ferris stand up with the fuel injection , I looked at all of the zero turns, these are the best you can buy

    I’ve been mowing over one acre, with a Ferris IS3000 since I bought new in 2004. It has 719 hours on it and has been an awesome machine. Replaced rear tires year before last and probably on it’s 4 battery - have kept it serviced regularly…..still runs like it did on day one! 🇱🇷

    I get mine this Thursday. I hesitated to spend so much but I need to reduce the back pain from mowing by bumpy 3 acres. Currently I use a subcompact tractor with no suspension and its painful. I'm stunned by how fast you can mow with the Ferris and am looking forward to the time savings. Thanks for doing this review. Its made me feel better about my purchase.

      Dave, I am looking to do the same. Currently mowing 5 acres on my property with my Kubota BX 2380. How much did you reduce your mowing time by?

    • @davedave672
      @davedave672 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@anthonyb1426 The fastest I ever mowed approx 2.5 acres was 2.5 hours but on the JD 1025R it would really beat me up. It usually takes 5-6 hours to do a good job on 3 acres. Last weekend I did all 3 in about 2.25., so it was an improvement time-wise but not a dramatic difference in time. The Ferris 800 still bounced around a LOT but it was far more gentle. It didn't hurt. - at all. I'm hoping to mow everything today. I'll let you know the time.

    • @davedave672
      @davedave672 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@anthonyb1426 I just finished in 1 hour 40 min. I had to skip a few areas, maybe 10 min worth of cutting, because it was too wet, however, if it had been dry I could have gone maybe 10 min faster so, all things considered, I think 1 hr 40 min is about the best I can do (I REALLY pushed for speed today). The mower is a Ferris ISX 800 with a 52" deck. Despite the wet clay, the cut quality was good, better than the JD would have done. By the way - if you buy a Ferris, don't EVER put anything valuable in the cup holder without strapping it down (I use a bungie cord for my phone because it bounced out the first day).

  • @crustydownunder
    @crustydownunder ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That mower costs $26,000 here in Australia.
    My cup holder is useless on my Husqvarna Zero turn, as well. Back pain? I suffer on my block. It's only 3.5 acres, but it is very rough. It has holes all over it, and mounds where there are no holes. Has trenches crisscrossing. It's a mess. I looked at suspension seats for mine, but at $1,000, I chickened out.
    Best review on a Zero turn I've seen. Great job.
    Cheers.

    Nice review! I just made a deal to purchase this same model will likely pick up Monday, brand new, with the Kawasaki 26hp EFI engine, which is the only engine their current stock had. I'm just curious as to what brand of drive tires ferris puts on this isx 800?

    Have same one use it commercially and love it. Cup holder with spill channel is useless. Like you said. I ended up putting duct tape across the opening to prevent things from falling out. I wanted a place to put my keys or other things while mowing.
    I also have the grass catcher. Not worth the extra $2500 because it literally will only pick up grass. Any leaves get stuck in the shoot at the opening near the mower deck which is surprisingly really small compared to the 8 inch hose that goes to the back bagging unit.
    Noticed that you have a bungee cord across the front where you put your feet. How come? I’m always looking for ways to improve my machines and just wondered why you had that

    • @WalnutSprings
      @WalnutSprings  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the bungee to hold open the chute when I park it in my garage. And so I don’t lose it I just put it across the foot area.

    Don't run 10W30. The best oil for air cooled engine is 5W50, 10W50, 25W50, or 20W50 if it is very hot in the summer, like in Arizona. But overall, the best is a synthetic 5w50 or 10W50. I f you would like to run it up during cold weather.
    Make sure you treat the fuel, too. It will save you some headaches .

      I've got a Ferris IS 3100 big block Z I've been running for about 15 years now I mow my 20 acres property with it you won't beat it for performance you can run It wide Open(approximately 15 mph) over the roughest ground and you barely feel any of those bumps and I don't even have the suspension seat I've got a lot of upgrades on her I replaced all of the spherical ball ends on the suspension and deck pivots with oversized solid steel ones like are used on 3-point hitch tractor turnbuckle ends and upgraded from a 5/8 deck belt to 1" deck belt and pulleys ...and that aftermarket fox suspension 😘👌!! I also have a ferris 1500 and 2100 the 1500 I've been running for 23 years still looks like and runs new !

      Never ever seen an aluminum shaft in a mower, even a cheap Murray. Steel shaft with aluminum housing. Just don't hit stumps and metal posts and you will be fine. Been running mine 18 years with original spindles and bearings. Keep them greased with good grease, like Lucas red and tacky.
