  • How to Replace a Battery in a SEIKO SOLAR Watch**
    This video tutorial demonstrates the step-by-step process of replacing a battery in a SEIKO SOLAR watch. While the procedure is relatively straightforward, it does require the use of specialized watchmaker tools.
    The specific battery type required for this watch is 3023 34T, and Panasonic-manufactured batteries are recommended.

    Sir: Thank you so very much for this video. I own 3 of this exact series of Seiko solar watches. I fell in love with them and bought then all at the same time. An all black, a Pepsi and a blue. the batteries/capacitors lasted about 19 years on two but the Pepsi is STILL l going strong! Thanks to your video I repaired the two, and I am sure the Pepsi will need it also soon. Thanks again.

      I happen to have one of these watches. When you say repair, do you mean battery change?

    My SSC227 stopped charging. I thought I need to replace the capacitor, but I did restart the watch by pushing two outside buttons simultaneously and it started working like brand new.

    this watch seems to be so new to have it's battery replaced, probably the owner did not use very often and the battery was damaged. I read eco drive owners saying their battery lasts 15-20 years. I like very much watch your vídeos.

    Hi, I have a V175 movement solar watch as well. Replaced the battery, but the watch won’t start. I previously had the watch stored out of sunlight for a while FYI. Any idea why it won’t start with the new battery? Thanks

      Set original battery or wrong?

    • @jaysterflex4152
      @jaysterflex4152 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SolimBD not sure I understand. The original battery wouldn’t run, so I bought a new seiko battery. Put the new battery in and nothing. I left the watch in the sun for over 6 hrs today and nothing. I reset the watch per instructions (holding down outside buttons for 3 secs) and still nothing.

    Once upon a time in Israel at a flea market, I saw a whole bowl of Seiko Kinetic and the seller agreed to any price, just take the whole bowl even for one shekel. The fact is that in Israeli realities, replacing a battery, that is, a capacitor, is more expensive than buying a working watch, even in the United States, the average price for a capacitor is $25, I just checked, although it can be cheaper, but sometimes it takes 40+ installations. Today in New York they ask for at least $10 to replace a simple cheap Chinese battery, and at the same time they also say that they are doing you a favor; in fact, you are robbing them. Therefore, given today's reality, such watches are simply not worth buying.
