    Awesome John! It's pretty funny because I set out this year to get a short axle axle bow, and then whenever I shot them all I ended up going for an even longer bow! I've been shooting a 33-in ATA bow for like 5 years now, and instead of going down to a 31 I went up to a 35!

      Yeah. I could do that next time. I do shoot them on the Comfort setting as well, and they're both MUCH more comfortable of a draw on that setting. The difference in speed was about 8 fps.

    I was at the Bowtech Pro shop today and shot the CP28 and the Reckoning. I can't make up my mind on which to get. I shoot mostly recreational target with hopes to shoot in tournaments, but also want to hunt. I'm also a sort guy with a 26 1/2 draw length. Both bows felt really good to me.

    I have bought a few bows myself and keep going back to the SR6 bow.

    Something to think about on the SR350- at 27” DL your just under half way of the draw length of the range- so you will never see the benefits of advertised bow speeds… I know, it stinks.
    I have a 2016Bowtech BTX28- I shoot it at the max 28”DL setting. On performance it is a fast fast little bow. At its max 60 lbs it shoots a 368 gr arrow 300 fps. That’s blazing but I shoot it on comfort because it’s a joy to shoot-lol.
    Keep up on the great vids!

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures

      Yep...been dealing with that issue all my life :)

    • @l00nybin
      @l00nybin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, I had a BTX-28 for my 27" DL, and it was downright unpleasant on the performance setting. On the comfort setting, it was easier to draw, but wasn't much faster than my Maitland Retribution VTR, so I didn't see much of a point in keeping it.
      It sucks having a short DL. I've noticed that center pivot bows (that's probably what CP means in the CP28, since it is obviously a center pivot bow) tend to be more forgiving to short draw people.

  • @timbow50
    @timbow50 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well, I'm like you with a 27 1/2" DL. I'm sure because of the harshness of the 350 draw that would not be my choice for sure. Good review

      I’ve never had any problems with it. At one point, I must have banged it hard into something because there was a small dent and crack in one of the limbs. But it was replaced by warranty in no time. It’s a great performing bow. I am shooting an elite now, but I still don’t want to sell that bow. Shooting a realm x 60 lb for target asa
    Halon x for ibo
    Hoyt ventrum 33 for hunting. I’m headed to Montana for a elk hunt in sept And I’m also starting to do more hang and hunts on public, I keep losing farms to unwanted housing developments ect, do you think the cpx 28 would be to short considering I’m 28.5 draw length ?

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's really hard to say. I've not tested the string angle at full draw with a 28.5'' draw length, or felt the draw at that draw length. However, since that's a fairly normal draw length, I would think it would be fine.

    Curious how the SR350 compares to the SR6 for draw and speed. You haven't seemed to find any newer bows worth upgrading yet.
    Seems like the CP28 really holds its own. Not sure how well it would fit me with 29" draw.

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did order a CP28. But I'm keeping my SR6. For my draw length, the SR6 is BY FAR the smoothest. Its IBO is 352, whereas the SR350 is 350 and the CP28 is 335. But at my draw length, with a 440 gr arrow, I believe the speeds were : SR6--268, SR350--268 (between 266 & 289), CP28--263 (between 262 & 265).

    “Forgiving” is generally a term associated with brace height rather than axle to axle. Maybe you can enlighten us.

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, it's primarily for brace height, but also is affected by ATA. The reason is that in a shorter bow, there can be a cant to it, without even realizing you are doing so...whereas the cant in a longer bow is more readily recognized.

    How do they compare to your SR6?

    • @LuskArcheryAdventures
      @LuskArcheryAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The SR6 is much smoother, no doubt about that...same speed as the CP28 but smoother. The only thing I don't really like about my SR6 is the wide posts for the yokes on the cams--they really stick out and get caught on brush at times. It's not a big deal, but it's just something I'd rather not deal with. And I really like the Deadlock cams of the newer bows. I'm definitely keeping my SR6--it's a unicorn of a bow, especially at shorter draw lengths.
