Interesting and nice Video SGP...Superb theory for the beginner.Your panning technique looks sound but I'd definitely invest in pan if you haven't done so already just for the easy aspect of discrimination of different minerals and more importantly GOLD against the Greens and Blues of the pan colours available. Plus you'll be able to get through much much more material. Happy hunting.
Thanks Chevsy! Yep, I was planning on getting a pan as my first bit of kit. I guess there's a good reason they are almost always green or black. I've got one more trip west planned in September, so fingers crossed! :o)
@@surreygoldprospector576 No problem at all, I invested in the Minelab pro gold panning kit for about £55 which has been great for me over the past 2 years- One pan, one small pan a classifier, snuffer bottle, couple of vials, magnet, magnifier, pipette and carrier bag. Fantastic set! There's also the Garret set for £30 available not as many accessories though. Good luck on your trip, Devon has some good spots it's just prospecting and getting those permissions. Keep the vids coming. Subbed. 🌟
@@CHEVSY i have the Garrett kit, 2 pans and a snuffer 👍 If you want to try crevicing a turkey baster is a cheap way to get started and a screw driver to dig it out 😁 I've only been 4 times but i have 0.13 grams, my precious 🤣
@@surreygoldprospector576 me too, fortunately i often get time to myself in Wales, lots of mountains and rivers, i don't even check if a stream historically has gold i just poke about and have fun for a few hours 👍
Thanks GoldPanDann! I've just got back from another trip, so have two more videos to finish up. Then I've got a trip booked in September, so fingers crossed! It's fun to see what turns up in the pan, even if I don't find gold. I'm now an expert on finding Pyrite!! :o)

@@Dirt-Diggler Thanks for the info. Both kits look pretty good value - I'll check them out.
At least your getting out there and doing it 👍
Keep it up, following you now 🙂
Thanks. I like being out in nature, and I find being by streams and rivers so relaxing! :o)

That's a good catchy title for your video! Your points are good 👍 glad to see you still going at it! You'll get gold if you keep it up!

Like chevsy says get a pan and your.ll be finding soon.
Remember you can move a lot more material through a 14" pan.
Great vid man!
Thanks! Yep, I'm coming to realize that where the gold is thin you have to process a lot more dirt. A bigger pan will certainly help.
Yes bro l am new to panning my self and I have made many mistakes but we learn from them hopefully good luck on your adventures bro 👏👍
Hey thanks Chambo! Yep, we are getting better bit by bit, and if we can have some fun along the way too that's great.
start with the inside bends that deposit gravel, you wont need waders and you'll see where the heavier stones get deposited along the gravel bar.
Thanks for the advice. I'm always open to pick up new tips! :o)
