    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I did was concerning! But it worked out great! The Helios once cured after 24h can be coated without a panel wipe. The paint was medium to soft, the color was forgiving also. 😎👍🏼

  • @andreshenao390
    @andreshenao390 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey, you have taught me so much about paint correction and coatings. I just have one question for the paint enhancement when you use an AIO like uno protect or max shines AIO can you apply a ceramic coating on top of that? I’ve heard that you can’t since it already offers protections, I’m just a little confused. Thank you!

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. So when using an AIO polish that has some sort of protection in it you don’t want to apply a ceramic coating over it. The paint has to be clean of any polishing oils. However for all of our ceramic coating services we now use the Dr Beasleys NSP primer polishes. They leave a ceramic primer layer to help any coating bond better. Sow that way we don’t even have to use a panel wipe.

    • @andreshenao390
      @andreshenao390 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MirandaDetailing Thank you so much! Would you recommend carpro essence as well? I’ve heard it’s also a good primer.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats a great polish snd primer also, but still have to wait 24 hours for that also before you can coat it without a panel wipe.

  • @jdisdetermined
    @jdisdetermined 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm very curious about Z1 now. Basically an aio that can last a year. That's impressive. Most aio type polishes leave very inferior protection when compared to even lite/intro/one year coatings. What kind of shelf life does it have after opening? 🤔
    Also, Essence seems much easier to work with. Correction wise, how does NSP45 compare?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So NSP45 with much easier to work with than Z1 I have found. Much easier wipe off. Essence and even easier to work with! Wipe off is a dream. They both give great gloss and slickness but the advantage of NSp45 is you can go straight to coating application after.

  • @harrynazarian3184
    @harrynazarian3184 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, very nice job! That shine is just amazing. How in heck did you manage that without cicadas flying all around when you had your garage door opened and while you were washing your car? Your wife had the most priceless look on her face when you were talking about the smudges on the window she was cleaning. The "Ok, seriously? How does 5 knuckles sound to make the job go smoother?" LOL! I have a couple questions in terms of applying the ceramic coating: can you use a piece of cloth in case your applicators are still in the wash? Can this stuff be applied to your headlights as well, or is there no point to doing that? I usually use the Meguiar's (don't laugh) PlastiX and UV Protectant paste to keep my headlights clean and protected, but was wondering if ceramic coating is worth it. And finally, I was wondering if you thought about using a cordless drill and those foam attachments or wool cloth attachment that some headlight/wheel cleaning kits come with. Can those be used to polish up b-pillars if they've lost their luster, or would you consider them too rough/aggressive? I'm still saving moneys up to buy some more tools to make my detailing job go more efficiently between my mom's, wife's and my cars. By the way, I like how when you were applying the Dr. Beasley's Windshield product, you say "Just put on a couple drops..." and proceed to dump an entire lake on the spreader. Haha! I am the same way, I'll read a product description and it will say "apply no more than 2 or 3 drops" and I go ahead and do what you did. Haha! Keep the videos coming! Great stuff! I'm going to be making an order soon from car supplies warehouse soon, when I get the next paycheck.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi 😂😂😂. It’s tough to apply coatings with just a piece of towel. That’s why I buy these applicators in bulk! 😁. You can use coatings on plastics also. But the headlights down here never last more than about 6 months becasue of the crazy heat and sun!! The cordless drill I think would be to aggressive on the pillars. It takes some finesse on those pillars to get them right. Yeah sometimes those drops come out too fast!! 🤣😎👍🏼

    • @harrynazarian3184
      @harrynazarian3184 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MirandaDetailing Yeah, tell me about the crazy heat and sun man... ugh. It's just as bad here in MD. So I take it as a "no you dumb fart" on using a cordless drill on b-pillars if they have the glossy plastic covers? Only reason I ask is, if we're still building our detailing arsenal, could we make due using what we have. So I guess it would be much safer to just use a light cutting and polishing compound on a terry cloth, and scrub by hand with medium pressure, then wipe off with a clean microfiber? Would this work on a big black massive front grill that comes on a 21 Audi A4? This usually scares my friends and I, as we don't want to mess it up. We know the wax is safe, and any wax we get on the other plastic, we just wipe it off with some gasoline, so the wax doesn't dry off and turn the plastic white and fugly.
      By the way, thank you for taking the time to respond to questions. I'm spreading the word about your site to my friends, and hopefully they spread it out as well. You got some really amazing content, and you're relatable because you're working from your home garage as well (for the most part). I'm hoping we can get you to a million viewers soon!

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@harrynazarian3184 It is possible to use a cordless drill to cut and polish, and yes, even soft pillars and piano black trim. Before I had all the new hotness tools I used a cordless drill and some cheap 1, 2 and 3" attachments as a mini polisher. It's essentially just a rotary polisher. If you use a soft pad and a fine polish and a light touch you can finish down very well, no problem.
      I wouldn't use gasoline 😲😲 on trim. IPA/panel prep would be a much safer option. Even Goof Off can really mess up certain surfaces. I learned that the hard way. 😔

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Well when people say “coated” from factory, it usually means a top coat that is applied to all leather/vinyl anyway to protect the base color coat. It’s mostly all vinyl with a color added and then a matte or glossy top coat. It’s certainly not a ceramic coating, so this is adding real UV and minor abrasion protection.

      Hi. Yeah basically to “Hydrate” the paint means it’s adding oils to it. Clear coat and even single stage paint is porous and can be penetrated by oils and it gives the paint is glossy appearance and more. When paint “drys out” it becomes dull. Some soaps just have added oils that can add gloss and in effect “hydrate” the paint. That explanation is pretty simple, I am no chemist, but basically thats what it does.

    Is the nsp45 similar to xtreems helios?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it’s not. It can be used then coated over right away. You can’t do that with Helios. You have to wait 24h for Helios to cure them you can coat over it.

    Why don't you tape up all the plastic trim ?

      @MirandaDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do YOU tape up plastic all the time and if so why?

      I'm just beginning this whole process of detailing my cars. I'm NOT a pro just a driveway guy NOT trying to mess up his cars. I would hate to get some compound on the black trim and have a hell of a time trying to remove it.
      Just a question Phil, hopefully you didn't take it as a disrespectful question. I like your videos, and thanks for the quick response.

      Taping up everything is ok for beginners but you will notice over time that you skills will improve and you will learn to avoid trim and still get close to the edges. Also many modern day compounds and polished don’t leave any residue on plastics. In this case we were only lightly polishing with a primer polisher and it doesn’t leave any residue on the trim or anything. Making our job easier and faster. 😎👍🏼

      I dont like their ceramic coatings either. but these NSP polishes are the only polishes I trust as primers for coatings. they actually work. the interior leather and vinyl protectants are also good, but I agree with you on the paint and glass coatings.
