    I have heard of CineStill but that's as far as it goes. The red bokeh around lights is really interesting (and the static remnants!). Love the back alleys and BTS shots of Tokyo. Great stuff!

    Loved these shots! I had the same static issue with cinestill on my Canon 630. Apparently it's more common with autowind cameras, I've shot it on other mechanical cameras and haven't had any issues there.

    For the handheld shots taken at night. What aperture and shutter speed can you get away with? The shot with a guy riding a bicycle came our really sharp with a good depth of field. I have only ever shot 800T on a tripod with a second or longer as my shutter speed. Nice work and thanks for the video!

    I've recently used a roll of Amber Tungsten, which I used at 800 iso (but my lab says it is really 500T),and I have encountered the same mysterious red flares and also completely blown out skies, like it is shot on a very bright day and I'm not sure if this is the reaction of the Tungsten film on day-(well actually night sky) light, or someting else that went awry.

  • @johnlaw6735

    Check/Clean your "film pressure plate" for those static marks. Usually cold causes that static when winding the film (either way)

    • @TKNORTH
      @TKNORTH  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the tip! I hear humidity and cold can effect it. Weather wise it wasn't particularly cold or dry when I've used it in this camera though and it has always occurred. So I was still unsure!

      Thanks so much for that! I actually took mine back home, I use Do Film Lab here in Sydney. I haven't used any in Japan myself, so sorry can't really recommend any.
      If it's any help I can let you know that Japan seem wonderful when you do ask to have film checked by hand though. I'm 100% from asking about 6-7 times over there. Always super friendly and happy to check it (both Int and Domestic flights I've done). Always understood what I was asking too, despite not speaking any Japanese!

      @@TKNORTH I’ve never had great results at 800iso. I typically rate it at 640 for night shots and 500 for daytime for a very cool tone. Your shots look great so maybe I should give it another go at 800.
