A very interesting way to develop a travel sketchbook. Much different from the way I do mine, but I must admit your way does have a definite appeal. It is almost like reading a travel log for tourists, but much more personal. Do you occasionally do watercolor washes on your sketches or do use pen only? Mine are normally pen and ink. Once the ink is definitely dry I will go back in with watercolor (occasionally I will use water soluble colored pencils if there is not enough water available for direct watercolors or my transportation is about to leave without me). Thank you for sharing this. I definitely have learned something that I may well try the next time I go on a trip.

@@seethelines Thank you. I am new at “playing” with drawing, painting and sketching things I see around on my walks. I will be going on a trip soon and wanted to try documenting it with a sketchbook. I love the combination of writing and drawings you showed. What size of a sketchbook would you recommend for that mix of notes and sketches?

Very helpful video, thank you. Love the sketchbook. I know you said you've had that sketchbook for many years but...Any idea where I could find a leather book like that with decent paper? I have yet to discover that style sketchbook that has paper that can handle light wet media.

Hey thanks for watching! I like this one because it's a legit big book. Has felt like I'm creating a book all these years. It's a Cavallini & Co journal. Decent paper. Made for ink, pencil, and a light touch of watercolor. Hope you enjoy creating your book :)

@@seethelines Thank you for that information. I will dig into that name and see what I can find. It must be wonderful to have such a treasure of wonderfully illustrated memories in a unique sketchbook that indeed looks lived in and has a personality all its own! Love the map on each page by the way. Keep up the amazing sketching!
