Found a can of artichoke hearts in my pantry. Found your recipe and had all the ingredients. What a delicious and easy pasta dish. I was so happy. I must say I added the lemon juice and Parmesan cheese and It really pops the flavor. Thanks so much. A winning recipe.
capers are sorta, kinda similar to olives--more vinegary than oily, and a little salty--so they make a nice bite. I've actually made this pasta dish with sliced green olives added--and it's a nice addition; broccoli, too--and even cauliflower--although cauliflower doesn't add to the visual appeal...still, this kinda pasta dish can help clean out the odds and ends in your fridge.
Love your easy-going, "let's get it done" manner. I could sell this dish to my husband for a quick meal when I don't want to cook, and he'd eat it if YOU recommended it . . . (You two share the same style.)
The is so addicting. After I saw this video in the last month, I make this all the time. One thing I modified is that I add more water and I cook the pasta wit the artichokes; I waste less water and the pasta itself is more flavorful. Thank You for sharing!
I tried this recipe today and it turned out wonderful! It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it! Thank you so much! Love your videos! I live in Chile! I wish I've known your and camera girl came here for vacations!
This was a really great simple recipe~! Will definitely try it. I came here to learn about capers, really but I found that info in another video and yours was next recommended and dish sounded and looked good; plus it's a short video. The kind I like!! Thanks. I'm thinking that a few pieces from a jar of red roasted peppers would be a great color and variety item to throw in at the very end! I like your teaching style very much, thanks again!
Delicious, try it with linguini....i use canned artichoke hearts alot....mke sure you really get the water out. Very good recipe, especially with capers.
You know, the artichoke hearts and capers weren't the only things looking fancy in that video. Looks like you got yourself a new fancy-pants pan, too... or, maybe I've just never noticed it before now. Man, the dish looks great. I'm gonna have to try it.
Okay, thanks Buck. Of course I gotta add some chicken in mine. A meal with no meat makes a carnivore sad. Thanks for all you and Camera Girl's awesome cooking videos.
thanks...this recipe is kinda similar to the channa masala in that you don't have to have a lot of fresh ingredients on hand to throw it together, all you need is a little onion and garlic the rest is in the cabinet (I like not having to think too far ahead)
I know this was 9 years ago but damn this looks so good. We buy the artichokes from costo it comes in two jars. They are so good. I might have to try this recipe out one of these days. Hope life is going good for you guys.
I will have to try the artichokes. hey, since you are up in salmon country, can you do a salmon recipe, there are some good prices for wild caught salmon in the stores, not talking the good expensive sockeye, just the cheap pink stuff, but more people should be taking advantage of non farm raised fresh American fish like salmon.
I have never eaten canned artichoke hearts. It always seemed too fancy. After watching your video I thought about the can of lobster pate I had bough a long time ago but never ate and went to look for it in the cupboard and can't find it. I was always comforted by it as I thought no matter what happened to the economy, if I had a can of lobster pate how bad could things be? Now it is gone. the zombie apocalypse approaches. And all I got is fried bologna sandwiches. need to get me some artichokes
oh...I wouldn't see why not--it'd be an almost completely different and much healthier dish (definitely a good idea). zucchini noodles with caper and artichoke actually sounds delicious
cool..im gonna try this tomorrow :) im so glad I found your channel....thanks again ! I have never cooked an artichoke before, but maybe ill give that a try after I try this recipe though...it looks delicious.
CG turned me on to artichokes and I'm glad she did--I used to think they were fancy pants, too. And when the whatever-it-is apocalypse gets here, the fried bologna crowd will probably make a better go of it than the lobster pate crowd, so you lucked out.
I refuse to eat anything that has or had a mother - This recipe is great with avocado butter and pasta made from brown rice flour or chickpea flour, Brown rice is better - It was delicious and healthy - Thanks for sharing - Most recipes can be adjusted and are usually just as good
Looks fantastic....I want that now! But will definitely try it soon! I love all your videos so far and want to see more. Loved Vista Chris' response to LaRosa d.A below....
Just made this for tonight's supper, tasted great! I used artichokes from jars packed in oil with herbs & spices. Checking the ingredients on the jar I noticed soybean or sunflower oil, that got me worried since now 93% of soybeans in the U.S. are GMOs, then noticed it is a product of Spain hopefully their food is not controlled by Monsatan and their soybeans are not GMO
I'M ALREADY ACQUAINTED WITH ARTICHOKE SINCE GRADESCHOOL DAYS ♥️ THIS IS A USUAL RECIPE SINCE GRADESCHOOL DAYS ♥️ THIS DISH IS DELIGHTFUL ❤️❤️ I'M NICE LIKE TITA BETTY SINCE GRADESCHOOL DAYS ♥️ I'M HONEST ♥️ TITA BETTINA IS NOT MATERIALISTIC. I'M NICE LIKE TITA BETTINA SINCE GRADESCHOOL DAYS ♥️ I'M HONEST ❤️ TIME: 11:42AM
Julia Child made it to 92 years and she ate about 2 lbs of butter a day (that figure might be slightly off)--of course her genes probably kick my genes' ass, so I probably should lighten up on the butter.
nah...using marinated artichokes will be just fine--you're adding a lot of oil to the recipe anyway; we buy the marinated artichoke hearts and I use them primarily in salads...I like to use the plain canned artichoke hearts for this recipe because I can often buy them for less, which makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
Hmm? I made this stuff tonight. Other than providing "filler", the canned artichoke hearts were a non-issue. If they had a flavor, it got past me. Capers? Whatever. I have enough for 2 more servings so I'll be giving it 2 more chances.
Who is cg? and cant you hide the wine from cg? I am trying to be funny but I often FAIL @ humor. I am going over to my parents house and cook this recipe, but I will add some white wine and some blocked Parmesan.
I absolutely loved this recipe! It wasn’t a surprise since all my favorite foods are in it!! Couldn’t have been happier!

love how accessible and straight forward your videos are
Ditto.
Thanks for that recipe, I love capers and artichoke hearts but never thought of them together in a dish.
Love your easy-going, "let's get it done" manner. I could sell this dish to my husband for a quick meal when I don't want to cook, and he'd eat it if YOU recommended it . . . (You two share the same style.)

Sounds really good. I would add some sliced black olives maybe and some Parmesan cheese. 4:07
You know, the artichoke hearts and capers weren't the only things looking fancy in that video. Looks like you got yourself a new fancy-pants pan, too... or, maybe I've just never noticed it before now.
Man, the dish looks great. I'm gonna have to try it.
YUM! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I bet a bit of parm would be good too.

Okay, thanks Buck.
Of course I gotta add some chicken in mine.
A meal with no meat makes a carnivore sad.
Thanks for all you and Camera Girl's awesome cooking videos.
I have only a couple of fresh artichokes; but its a go to serve with salmon.
Thanks for your dinner inspiration.
Ty. I am going to try it!
thanks...this recipe is kinda similar to the channa masala in that you don't have to have a lot of fresh ingredients on hand to throw it together, all you need is a little onion and garlic the rest is in the cabinet (I like not having to think too far ahead)
I like having to not think at all. I just have to follow your recipes.
Ooh yummy! Thank you!
Looks delicious
delicious...thanks for the recipe!
Quarter of a thing? How many smidgens is that?
I know this was 9 years ago but damn this looks so good. We buy the artichokes from costo it comes in two jars. They are so good. I might have to try this recipe out one of these days. Hope life is going good for you guys.

NEEDS SOME COLOR!!!!!!! BUT WOULD TRY

I like it with a little lemon juice and zest--but half the time I forget it, too--like when we shot this video :^) ...it's delicious either way
Do you rinse the artichokes out the can?
Thanku. Please taste test ur recipes. It makes d cooking videos complete. Thanku for sharing
Hi Buck, this looks amazing, I would love to make this but I’ve never had artichokes what do they taste like? Thanks as always for you great recipes 💓
love the sauce, hate mixing overcooked pasta into it, but slice looks alright... maybe some tomatoes and basil?
I just cooked it but with orzo, forgot to add the lemon juice, oh but it was so good.
Ill be making it😁
it's very good with Parmesan cheese--that's how CG (my partner, Camera Girl) likes it.
So I've honestly never tried capers... Do they taste like olives?
PS. Your crazy oldSchool turquoise stove top is Awesome!
I just fixed this but added a dab of sour cream and parm cheese to finish it off. Great!!
Hey, Buck.
I have everything to cook this (looks delicious)
But... Do you think marinated artichoke hearts would screw up the flavor?
Well, do ya?
You’re a beast. And my savior.
I'm on a Chef Buck vacation. Enjoying his videos.
I have marinated chokes and no capers. Think I'll try that with onion, garlic, and yellow bell pepper and angel hair. Use what I've got.
me too, it's user friendly...I file this one under "dishes I'll cook when I don't feel like cooking"
zen cooking
can this be made with zucchini noodles without butter buck?
oh...I wouldn't see why not--it'd be an almost completely different and much healthier dish (definitely a good idea). zucchini noodles with caper and artichoke actually sounds delicious
cool..im gonna try this tomorrow :)
im so glad I found your channel....thanks again !

I have frozen ones instead of canned. I've never even tasted artichokes so I'm gonna try this, thanks. But I just don't know how to eat them :/ help?
Insert directly into mouth. Chew. Swallow. Profit!
Vista Chris haha, that's what I ended up doing. But I thought that you were supposed to eat just certain part of the artichoke like other videos show.
egg never hurts anything (except one time I saw fried eggs on a pizza...not sure they helped)
What kind of stove is that?! I NEEEEEED one hahah
I'm half-vegetarian half-carnivore...which I guess technically makes me a carnivore, but still...I'm trying
I refuse to eat anything that has or had a mother - This recipe is great with avocado butter and pasta made from brown rice flour or chickpea flour, Brown rice is better - It was delicious and healthy - Thanks for sharing - Most recipes can be adjusted and are usually just as good
Yaaay i heard the whistle at the end its been soo long since ive heard it haha
Italians have a word for a sauce they love,
CHA-FIL-LA. THATS HOW IT SOUNDS TO ME, I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY! SOME SPAGHETTI BENDER I AM!!
My favorite food yummmmmm
yeah, it's a great stove...it makes me feel younger
Looks fantastic....I want that now! But will definitely try it soon! I love all your videos so far and want to see more. Loved Vista Chris' response to LaRosa d.A below....
I'm all about production value

CG drinks my wine
Julia Child made it to 92 years and she ate about 2 lbs of butter a day (that figure might be slightly off)--of course her genes probably kick my genes' ass, so I probably should lighten up on the butter.
I just can't seem to do without my butter. I like the grass fed on my small budget.
those quick noodles have made me kinda lazy (lazier)
nah...using marinated artichokes will be just fine--you're adding a lot of oil to the recipe anyway; we buy the marinated artichoke hearts and I use them primarily in salads...I like to use the plain canned artichoke hearts for this recipe because I can often buy them for less, which makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
I never taste artichoke before
I'm going to name a band pasta water
I love your recipes. But you gotta throw some wine on these dishes.
He may choke Artie...but he's not gonna choke me.
My hubby said>>Throw an egg on there and I'd eat it...=)
As long as you do not use margarine :-)
😋😎🙏
your publicist will make you change it (if not, get another publicist)
Life's not worth living if you don't live, though of all the people I watch religiously, I think you know that better than most ;)

Gah! It's much too late for me to be getting hungry! DX
Needs cheese.
How rude! :)
And he drinks her wine.
Mia nonna lo fa Meglio. La prossima volta non aprire barattoli e non freebootare la cucina italiana perche non la sai fare.
