Testing Starbucks Vertuo Pods For Nespresso + My Machine Broke!

- I decided to try out the New Starbucks Vertuo Line Pods for Nespresso. Starbucks came out with 7 different variations. 2 espresso pods and 5 mug size pods. The two Starbucks Espresso pods are the regular espresso pod and the blonde espresso pod. The five mug sizes are Pike Place, Colombia, Veranda, Sumatra and Cafe Verona. Watch to see the four that I decided to taste test and keep watching to find out what happened to my machine! I don't think it was the Starbucks Vertuo Pods that had anything to do with it but I am glad that Nespresso was able to fix the issue.

thx for sharing my go to drink is venti iced white mocha with 3 pumps toffee nut 1/2 & 1/2 blonde espresso no whipped but with vanilla cold foam..I just started with espresso and found I really enjoyed the blonde espresso and now looking to get a espresso machine
Thanks for your video good to see these pod pours as we can’t get these yet in the UK... also a latte/milk drink person but loving the versatility of my new vertuo plus. There’s a real “box of chocolates” feel to picking a morning coffee now. That’s worrying about your machine I think anecdotally I’ve read more about next problems over the plus models (which is why I went for the plus also prefer the pod loading system with the lever over the locking mechanism) so hope you’re good now.
Im liking the Vertuo plus a lot more than the Next. I’ve also heard more problems on the Next machine too. I’m super happy so far! Loving my coffee 🥰

Hey love💞 I just bought my Nespresso and I was looking at videos regarding it and ran into your account. 🙂 So my question is how do I know how many espresso shots are in those Starbucks pods🤔 I usually do 2 to 3 shots at Starbucks . So are those pods single espresso shots? Kind of confused lol
Hi! The Starbucks pods labeled espressos are all single espressos so you would need one pod per shot. Nespresso has a double espresso shot which is pretty good called double espresso Chiaro you might like and those will brew two shots with one pod. Hope that helps if not let me know!

I usually add half cup for almost everything. At the end of the day it’s personal preference

@@_Alexmojica I do 2 shots of the blonde espresso and add vanilla syrup with a little milk and add my vanilla sweet cream cold foam! It’s sooo good!! It made my cousin buy a nespresso haha!

I think that as soon as they launch the new machine here ( in Spain it will be available tomorrow) Starbucks will sell their pods too , or I hope so 🙏🏻

Thanks for reviewing. I’ve been eyeing those at Target. I usually get a quad iced espresso in a venti cup with milk or a venti iced Americano with a splash of milk or cold foam. 🤷♀️

Blonde roast is my favorite at Starbucks. When I get a shaken espresso I always do blonde roasted. Something about the taste that is really good. I’m a iced drink type of girl and I get venti Shaken espresso

Do you need to register the machine within the warranty? Was your warranty expired when they sent a new machine?
The machine was two minutes baths old so no it wasn’t expired. You don’t need to register it I found out they can just check your serial number regardless

Omg! That’s crazy that your second broke too! If the third one brakes tell Nespresso you want a different model. They actually let me get the plus and it’s been so great to me and I love the automatic open and close feature
@@_Alexmojica My first two were the vertuoplus model. The vertuo next was the one that ended up working for me! It has been 5 months so far so hopefully it won’t break because I didn’t have a good experience with nespresso customer service on my previous machine.😕 I got it from Macy’s that’s why I was able to return and get a new one so easily.

Hi Priscilla! I think if you love lattes then it’s definitely worth it. You can’t really get a latte out of a keurig and Nespresso makes it easy to get espresso shots to make your lattes at home. I haven’t been to Starbucks in a while. I probably go once or twice a month now since having my machine. I think if you can find this machine bundle with aeroccino on sale then you gotta give it a shot at least you might enjoy it!

How do you clean your milk frother machine?

How exciting! I take off the springy spinner part and rinse it under. Hot water and then scrub it gently with a toothbrush. The inside I use warm soapy water and a sponge. While rinsing I’m just careful not to wet the underneath part of it

How do you register the machine? I’m the same with all your Starbucks choices !
Your box should have come with a sticker on the machine or on the manual somewhere in there. You then go to nespresso.com and create an account with them and then go to your machines and add it there. Hope that helps! 😃

When you first got your Next was the crema very foamy with air bubbles? My Next's crema doesn't hold. It disappears after 40 seconds. Definitely not as thick as they describe.
I actually know what you mean! I wonder if that’s related to the leaking. I just received a machine replacement but I ended up going with the VertuoPlus instead. I’ll see how this one holds up to the claim.

How do you register your machine? I purchased mine from Bloomingdales but didn’t keep any of the papers that came with it
You might be ok without those papers. Make an account with Nespresso online and then go to register machine on your account. You might only need your receipt and serial number which might be on your machine

Are there any generic coffee pod options for Vertuo line?
Only Starbucks is allowed for now and even those are made by Nespresso. Nespresso has a patent on Vertuo Line that won’t allow anyone to make third party capsules until the patent expires. Original line’s patent has expired which is why that one has third partie options. Hope that helps
My machine died also. I’ve only had my Vertuo Next since April 2020. The head unit failed and the machine wouldn’t ingest water. I’ve been sent a replacement. In the meantime I got a Vertuo Plus Deluxe. I’m much happier with this model and I’ll keep the Next as a backup.
Yeah it seems like this machine is a bit finicky. I actually gave up waiting for my replacement since all the Vertuo nexts are out of stock so they will be sending me a Plus and I’m happy to hear that you like yours!
@@_Alexmojica I was also told Nespresso isn’t repairing any of the Next machines that are defective. So far the Plus is quieter, brews a hotter cup, and the coffee crema is denser. Good luck. I have the Starbucks Vertuo capsules but not tried item yet.

Yup the Vertuo system is patented till around 2026 I believe. Original Nespresso Starbucks pods are also.

I always get a grande hot caramel latte at Starbucks. Yum! So far I have tried Pikes Pkace and the espresso roast. I do like both.
I wonder if you could review the Cafe Verona, Columbia, and Sumatra. From the description on those, I’m afraid to order. Our target never has them on the shelf and you cant order for pick up for some reason. Our closest Bed Bath and Beyond closed so the nearest is now 40 min away.

Usually when someone "tests" a flavor you don't add a flavoring into it so you can actually TASTE the true flavor notes of the coffee.
Which is why I tried it before any syrups or milk 😉
Blonde espresso is definitely the one for me! I love it. Iced caramel latte and caramel brûlée during the holidays are my go-to’s! How do you do a double shot of espresso? For the iced caramel lattes, Starbucks does two shots of espresso. Do I need two pods? That would suck considering how expensive the pods are.
Yes I would do two pods, it’s still relatively cheaper than Starbucks though 😕

I don’t know! They had me clean the needle and coffee spout when I called nespresso so I wonder if It just needed to be cleaned out but even after doing that, it was still leaking coffee.

I think it’s because the Starbucks pods. My machine was fine until I started using the Starbucks pods, it started leaking.
