    I literally came here to see if someone was having the same peeling reaction that I was. I’ve been using glycolic acid (not consistently) for like the last couple of weeks and never felt anything other than a little itching sensation. and yesterday I decided to use steam so that I could perform an extraction before my routine and this totally explains why my skin has flaked and scarred like this 😮😫thanks

      Well she used a chemical peel that isn’t as aggressive as other chemical exfoliants and as everyone’s skin type is different , sometimes a light peel is all you need especially if you don’t have a lot of acne scars or dark marks to get rid of. Not everyone needs a superficial peel.

    • @malcolmjelani3588

      I would do one light peel a week rather than an aggressive treatment. Less risk for problems.

    That’s not a strong peel at all. That’s like a regular use peel that you do once or twice a week and takes many many uses to see real results.

      LiaLeigh hey boo, I wanted to give you my first update because I freaked out! Lol. So I did my face this morning, I posted a TikTok and followed step by step with gloves, cold towel, mask tool and the serum. I did the test patch too for 3 mins. But Lordy girl this was soooo itchy on my skin around 5mins, so I rinsed off exactly at 10 mins. When I say around my nose and chin was soooo frosted. And it hurt when wiping it off, I thought I burned my skin at first. I immediately started me to freak out because I never seen it like this. So I’m like Lia mentioned frosted so I googled it to see what it looks like, and it was it. I calmed down, then put on the serum you suggested and a Vitamin C serum just to add a little moisture. Let’s see what happens the next few days. PS I couldn’t do my back yet because I need another set of hands and my hubby was sleep. But I will update you on that too😘😘 I’m excited about the process, and I really am being to love skincare. You help inspire me to follow my esthetician dreams😍

    • @LiaLeigh
      @LiaLeigh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      You could visit an Esthetician, or a Dermatologist but I am about 80% sure they are going to try to sell you on what options they can offer

    • @RelishWithReCheil
      @RelishWithReCheil 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ALWAYS Consult a medical Dr. if you have any doubt of what to put on your skin. Knowing a great dermatologist is a plus for someone who really wants health skin or has a severe skin disorder. No dermatologist should try to “sell” you on anything! My dermatologist would NEVER. If you are seeing a dermatologist you can not trust to help better your skin then ask your pcp for a great referral. That’s what I did, and it works out.

      Jasmine Littlejohn I’m sorry for that. I did more research since posting that, and found Platinum Skin Care. Jennifer, the CEO, gives advice on using TCA peels for dark skin and the proper Fitzpatrick Range that determines skin tone guide to peels that are compatible to individual complexions.
      I use TCA 13% and I’ve applied three layers. This was last week; my first peel. She also instructed me on preparing my skin prior to the peel and she provides aftercare.
      This company is great. I’ve discovered that hydroquinone is NOT recommended for black skin. It promotes hyper pigmentation and does not inhibit melanocyte production. As you well know, the dark spots return.
      Do more research with dermatologists, instead of civilian anecdotes.
