    Let's not be shocked if Athing runs MAD for the rest of the season & breaks the 800m WR ala Keni Harrison in '16 after she missed out on the Olympic W100mH Team! USATF will definitely try to get Athing to run all 4 rounds of the Mixed 4x4 (with Quincy Wilson) & W4x4 in Paris to get her 2 Gold Medals & possibly at least one WR in the process as well!

      I agree. Athing will want to show that she would have won the gold medal. She will likely get some relay medals and look to the world champions next year.

      It has been a tough year for her. The upside is that Athing is young, and you expect her to bounce back.

    She didn't fall, she was tripped and pushed by those women. This is not right. It should be investigated and fixed

    • @SportsTalkTech

      Unfortunately, that’s not how it works in finals. She would have advanced if it had been a semi or opening round, and she was not at fault. But it is not clear she was deliberately tripped. Also, spare a thought for Hurta-Klecker as well.

    she wasn't in race shape... not enough races this year so she wasn't used to running in packs and wasn't careful enough.

    Gotta s/o Juliette Whittaker who made the W800m Team & absolutely has Michaela Rose's number in the event with a 7-3 H2H Record beating her 3 out of 4 times this yr; NCAA In/Outdoor Champs & Olympic Trials. Hope her older sis Isabella who finished 6th in the W400m Final gets included in the Relay Pool so that they get to go to Paris together as Olympians :)

    • @SportsTalkTech

      It would be great for both Whittaker sisters to be at the Olympics. Michaela Rose’s race strategy has been very questionable all year. She is young, so I want to keep that in mind. It could be more of a coaching issue than with her. She is talented and has a good physique for the 800m.

    • @AllInTheGame01

      @@SportsTalkTech Like Athing, Rose has the perfect build for the 800m but needs better tactical coaching & should also work on lowering her current 53.16/4.11.98 400/1500m PBs as much as possible increasing her speed/strength in the process!

    • @SportsTalkTech

      I agree with everything here. With the way she wants to run currently, we are looking at trying to go sub-4:09 in the 1500m, which is necessary. I also believe she has a 51-second 400m in those legs. She needs the right environment once she goes pro.

    • @AllInTheGame01

      @@SportsTalkTech Keely who's the slowest of the Big 3 over 400m has a 51.61 PB, Rose absolutely needs to be at least a 51.9/4.09 400/1500m runner! Would be funny if she went to Athing's former Coach Milton Mallard when she goes Pro, but I suspect she might make the incorrect decision by staying with her current coach @LSU :(

    • @SportsTalkTech

      Make sense. Keely has a pretty good 600m, though. I suppose sponsorship could play a role in the decision. I do think she has loads of talent. Jamaica heritage, too?

    I don't thing mentally she is there-because when she fell it took a long time for her to get up and try to catch up with the pack.

    • @SportsTalkTech

      Possibly. She might have calculated right away that her chances of getting back in the race were slim to none. I also don’t know what kind of shape she’s in. Was she ready to run 1:56?

    Athing Mu does not like track and field. It just happened that she is good at it. She's always talking about modeling as if track and field is an afterthought.

    • @SportsTalkTech

      I hear you, and I agree that she might not stay long in the sport, but she wanted this one. Perhaps the dedication to the sports isn't where you would expect it to be, but that's more speculation on my part. Mu’s race strategy was very poor.
