"Keep Passing the Open Windows" is a phrase from the 1981 John Irving novel, "The Hotel New Hampshire". It was made into a feature film in 1984 and Queen was initially asked to write the soundtrack. Film makers later decided, instead, on a more classical style. Freddie had already written this song which is on The Works album.
There is some criticism to the earlier "Don't Try Suicide" from The Game, which lyrics are considered a bit more graphic, but I feel it conveys the same message.

I love this. When my twins were still born I fell apart. These were babies number 5 and 6'that I had lost . I was left with PTSD I remember playing this on the day the twins had been due and I began to feel there might be hope. Went on to have a beautiful rainbow baby a boy who is now a man working with street homeless

I had heard years ago, Fred came up with this as both John and Sir Brian have had deep bouts of depression throughout their lives, and this might have been around the time Sir Brian had marriage problems as well. I know there's another song which Freddie wrote for Sir Brian as well, can't remember off the top of my head what it's called. I seem to remember they had a few volumes of albums out Deep Cuts? all the songs which may have been played live and not necessarily on albums or released as singles
Think it's a B side so will find it on the Deep Cuts albums, Soul Brother? I know it includes references too Sir Brian and some of the songs he's written and he wasn't a Doctor of Astrophysics back then he finished his course in the early 00's hence the Dr in front of his name, went back and finished at his old University
