Ceramic coating before & after

- This video gives a very clear visual of the before and after effects of a ceramic coating.
BEFORE
See how when the water is sprayed onto the surface the water sits on the panel.
AFTER
The water is now being repelled by the ceramic coating due to its extremely hydrophobic properties.
Having a ceramic coating installed on your car will help to keep it cleaner for longer and make it easier to maintain.

Great demonstration
I'm looking for that video where someone pushes a large panel making it bow in them back out to see if a long crack appears.
I’m sorry but I have no idea what that video is, it’s not one of mine
What in the world am I talking about? Did I write that comment? I am confused as to what I was talking about.
Oh. I get it. To see if it fails. You see, to explain this better... cars have to be designed so that they flex in the body panels so that they don't kill people. It's just a requirement and our government makes car manufacturers do.. dent in easy, softnes. So I'm curious how the heck can you make a super hard ceramic coating that is so strong and tough of a hardness rating of that like a diamond work with the flex requirements. When you're required to make it flexible, diamonds do not flex. The closer you get to the super fabulous hardness rating that close of a diamond. The easier it shatters it's not flexible. So here's the question. What material has the flexibility and the hardness of a diamond? I don't think it exists but they are working on the self-healing plastics. Whatever
And yes I think a lot. I am too smart. I think too much. It is overwhelming
@@jstewart627 I’m glad you know what you’re talking about because I don’t 😂
After it rains is it normal to have the water beads just sit there. My truck is coated and beads water great but my girlfriends car with no protection will be dry in the morning and mine will have like a thousand perfect lil water beads just sitting on the hood.
Yes that sounds normal, typically on cars the water will run off but on large horizontal panels like on trucks the water may sit there
Now show the drying the best part.
I agree the drying is fun!
Would this also protect me from car accidents?
Yes. Go had them coating then try for yourself.
It’s good, but not that good. If you want damage protection you need paint protection film (PPF), which we also do.
What ceramic you used? Nice before & After for sure
Thank you! This coating was Carpro Cquartz 3.0
I got this done but the water spots just sit in top now making it harder for me to clean what else am i suppose to do?
Water marks will usually only appear if tap water is used, rain water is typically very low ppm, meaning there is no minerals in the water. It is the minerals that cause the water spot when the water has dried.
2 easy solutions - 1. ensure you dry your car thoroughly after washing. 2. Use a water filter to reduce the ppm of your tap water.
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I got it wrong I meant the water drops just stay sitting on my car I don't get any water spots but I thought they would just roll off or do I still need to wax the car?
Oh I see. The water won’t always fully disperse off the panel and leave it bone dry. You shouldn’t wax a ceramic coated car. You could use a ceramic detailer following washing the car, this will help to provide some extra slickness. Hope that helps
after installed coating, how long can last ?
This depends on the coating applied, usually between 2-5 years
Is this the same as ceramic coating spray wax?
No, a spray ceramic/wax is a diluted version of a full ceramic coating that I used here
Looks like my wax finch
Thank you
What coating?
This is CarPro Cquartz UK 3.0
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing single layer or double?
Single layer
@@Velocity_Car_Detailing how long did u wait curing the coating?
@@TheSantos173 it cured overnight, probably had around 14 hours before I put the topper on it
If the water sheets off, there’s no water spots. If you use something that causes water to bead, then you better get that vehicle dry as fast as you can. Rain-X car wash solution will make the water sheet off. Wash it and walk away. No need to dry it.
If you use DI water then you don’t need to worry about water spots 😉
@@Velocity_Car_DetailingInteresting. Never heard of that. What system of DI do you use?
You can use a DI/pure water vessel. The water passes through the filter media and removes the minerals to give you
@@Velocity_Car_Detailingthanks for educating me. I’m now less ignorant than I was lol. Seriously, I appreciate it!
Hey to you have hard water spots then you got a freak out
No hard water spots
Just wax it every 3 months
Or ceramic coat it once and save yourself hours of waxing. Plus the protection is much better than waxing if you use the correct one
Sorry but I don't see the difference
Look at the water when it hits the bonnet. Before the coating the water sticks to the bonnet, whereas after the coating the water is repelled immediately. This hydrophobic effect helps to keep the car cleaner for longer and makes it much easier to maintain
