Might do this as it seems Google is feeding their advertising algorithm Adderall or something. Lol.
Ads like 70 econds into a 3 hour podcast lol .
I blame it on Justin Trudeau.😂
@@888_vav Yeah I figured if I was gonna sell something it might as well be something that legitimately makes life less annoying lol
It all comes into focus when you weigh humanities perception of it's own value against the passive way they let an existential threat insinuate itself as an authority!!!
I've been a TH-cam premium subscriber for a while now and highly recommend it. Unless you're absolutely penniless, the mental pollution from constant, disruptive advertising is well worth paying a few dollars to be rid of.
Also, if it supports Formscapes, then it is doubly good :)

That's cool, but for real though. This video at around the 41 minute mark is full of propaganda against capitalism. It's not anywhere near correct. No, capitalism is not built on debt. It doesn't require endless growth, rather it causes endless growth. Slow and steady, sometimes in the form of sheer volume, but more commonly in the form of increasing complexity and sophistication.
Capital, Latin 1610, means personal wealth. Capitalism simply means you have personal wealth because you get to keep the spoils of your own labor.
THAT IS ALL IT MEANS.
Any systems that "redistributes" (almost completely toward the top) the wealth of the producers... Is socialism.
Some call it communism, but that's a misnomer. Communes are fine. As long as the government is not involved.
THE PROBLEM IS SOCIALIST POLICY..
And thanks to the influence of the Vatican and all of their little octopus tentacles around the world, the USA has become quite socialist. It's disgusting.
We are taking this place back. We are taking back our personal wealth. Those at the top are the ultimate socialists and they are completely helpless without us. Not our problem. They can learn to produce something that is valuable as demonstrated by demand, or they can croak while trying to forage in the woods alone, as no one will trade anything with them. No food no shelter, no nothing.
That's what's coming. If you value your well-being and that of your families, then choose the right side.
But ultimately, it's up to you. Tick tock.
:-)
That's a fire hazard, bro.
My early thoughts are that neurosis about death is just a form of obsession. Transhumanists are like people who buy lotto tickets so they can dream about the life they'll live after they win.
Yeah and then they’re just shitty people that get to be shitty forever 😂
No, the fact that they represent less than 1/000001 of the people they affect with permanent, unproven, flakey ideas make them megalomaniacs. This aspect escapes the imagination of the well marbled crop they are looking to shear.
In fact I concur that many false beliefs are like this. Christianity is focused on what it would be like in heaven and after judgement day, Scientism is focused on what we will achieve conquering the stars perhaps even creating alliances with other civilisations. Despite these beliefs having nothing to show for it, scientism for example being the reason why science has stagnated since the 50’s-70’s, gravity and modern cosmology have yielded NO fruits and have obviously been a terrible lie. And of course Christianity just teaching blind faith in God, receiving no observable power or influence from this mysterious messiah who, if was a mortal father, would be considered a neglectful deadbeat. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
Are you saying being transhumanist makes you shitty or that they're often shitty people?@@davidjones8043

For those wondering, the video starts at 00:00. Thats right, the intro is necessary
Kurzweil is sad and is an example of brains without wisdom . The inability to confront death leads to so much madness.
I think the bigger issue here is approaching transhumanism from a capitalist perspective; we could improve peoples' quality of life and experience during that life, or we could end up having to pay a subscription fee to use our cybernetic eyes.
This why cyberpunk dystopia is more popular than solarpunk utopic fiction. It's easier to believe humanity will end up in the former state than the latter.
This videos representation of his creativity is more real than him anyway, and a better representation of his essence than him, had he lived.

Should men have ever started philosophizing? They come to the wildest and most counterproductive conclusions: "the existence of the universe itself relies on the existence of human consciousness 🤡"; "physical world is bad because spirit world is better" which can't be demonstrated, nor is it helpful to hate this world while living in it. And is it implied that we should strive for better when reaching "heaven"?

Be weary of promises that taste sweet. The last time we saw such a 'secular-materialist teleology' overtake parts of the world, it resulted in great horror.
Question what the fuck is a "secular-materialist teleology"
@@miguelatkinson they're referring to marxist materialism, specifically it's approach to history. the rest of their comment refers to stalinism (marxist-leninism)
Marx is influenced by Hegel who did believe history was teleological but this is not necessarily true for materialism as that would precipitate inenvitablism.
@@spawel1 I should also add that Hegel's philosophy is about as far removed from Marxist-Leninism as one could imagine. Marx borrows certain ideas from Hegel - the "dialectic" - but mangles them beyond all recognition. There are alot of soup-brained right-wingers who have, for whatever reason, decided to demonize Hegel by claiming that he was some kind of proto-Marxian proto-postmodernist, but that's little more than trendy nonsense. Hegel's teleology is almost always caricaturized by its critics, and he definitely got some things very wrong, but Hegel was absolutely correct that history is teleological - because time itself is teleological.
@@Formscapesa lot of rightoids are pro Hegel as they espouse the elite control the world via the Hegelian dialectic mantra

Good job bro! You’ll get there. 💪
I also think it's funny how atheism is on a downward spiral and spiritualism is on the rise. It signals a collective transformation in consciousness.
Atheism isn't going to disappear
no it is the opposite. there is increase in the perversion of spirituality into self-interested marketing schemes, and an increase in cynicism towards any sentiments of true spirituality. thus the increase of atheism.
I gotta tell ya, I still get pumped every time I watch/listen to the intro music for your every video. It's probably one of my favorite snippets of media to be found on all of youtube.
Seems like this Kurz fellow mistook the water for the whirlpool, and thought a top would be an improvement.
Of course this comes out ten minutes after I decide to reinstall Cyberpunk 2077...
i am always baffled by singularity zealots who insist that they can "upload their consciousness" like i dont understand the logic. Clearly if you are a materialist you cant possibly think that your experience would continue on in the digital. It would just be a doppelganger with its own experiences.
Under a materialistic framework, having experiences is impossible. Even your field of view is impossible under a materialistic framework.
Pure materialism would us being literal robots that just respond to stimuli

Regarding the point around 14:00, and I know it's tangential to your main point, but basically no there is no reason to think we "renew" our atoms every seven years. It's not just that there is no evidence for it, but that in quantum field theory it makes no sense to say one's body is "just an aggregate of atoms in a certain configuration". This is one of my main issues with materialism as a scientist, it's not based on actual physics etc, but a sort of over the top exaggerated reading of 19th century statistical mechanics.
Anyway, this video is very good at showing the tragedy in the whole transhumanist movement.
So the metaphysics of the world is all literally elden ring lore. I knew watching those lore videos wasn't a waste of time

My guy is dropping gems in this video! Closest thing that we have actually created the goo is capitalism. That is something that never occurred to me but it feels so right.
I also never thought about our switch to growing our food in the terms you discussed. The thought that the beginning of the switch wouldn't have been advantageous makes so much sense. It's such a simple idea but I feel it in my bones. Something obviously brought us to our knees and the situation didn't allow us to hunt as we use to. We had to figure something else out or we would have starved. We learned agriculture out of necessity then once the harsh times were ending, we decided to bring the two ways of life together. If we never did that, things may have never worked out for us the way they have.
All around great essay sir. It's your first video I've seen and I'm off to see what else you have posted. Thanks!
Another masterpiece. Can you do one about anti-natalism? There was a paper which said it's NOT pessimism, nihilism, misanthropy, anti-human, pro-death, suicidal, ascetic... And fair enough I guess technically, but I do see these things among most anti-natalists.
i think it doesnt have to be, but in its most common form, which involves regarding giving birth to another human as an evil act due to suffering caused, antinatalism is all of those things (pessimistic, nihilistic etc..)

Excellent work as always, I'd love to see something like a manifesto at broader communal/societal level
Kubrick understood these concepts and thoughtforms.
Revelation 13 perfectly describes this. A man dies, the Bible say's people build the "image of the beast" in his image, this image SPEAKS and is GRANTED LIFE! Can't make this up. This talking image, that is now living, it says comes as a lamb (peaceful savior) but speaks as a dragon (power/knowledge). It comes from the Earth(material). It then goes on to usurp humanity it says, by placing a mark on ALL people so as not to buy, sell, or trade without it by placing a mark in the right hand or forehead (biometrics). It then demands worships as IT see's itself as a god. We ARE witnessing this "birth" now. The bible says people won't be able to die in those days, meaning it has created a false form of "immortality". Jesus said ALL THESE THINGS WOULD HAPPEN
You're just crazy bro. The prophecy was about the Roman empire, not about any random shit
@georgepanicker61916 Look. I think it's crazy too. But honestly it's pretty scary how it matches up. Not saying I believe it. It's just crazy.

Thank you for understanding Kurzwiel so i don't have to... Yes there is something peculiarly anathema-tic. About the idea of taking the abstract memories of your father. Who was also once a phyical being with his own individually unique abstract private inner experiences & understanding of the world.
And deluding yourself (they are deluded right? They don't actually serioulsy believe this S? Right?....right?) Into the belief that a language model composed of silicon, electromagnetism, and microscopic on or off logic gates programed with a Base 2 binary number system. Can be programed with thier father's emprical characteristics. Is in fact the abstract reality of thier father. That's like kind of megamonically sick. Seriously who thinks like that? I mean it's one thing to tip an exotic dancer, because you think she likes you. This other stuff is quite entirely different. Its like naming a calculator after your dead parent. And believing it is now your dead parent. Tf is wrong with these people.

The cataclysm that caused the neolithic break could’ve been the flaring of Proto Saturn as the Earth-Saturn system entered the present day Solar System and began electrically interacting with the Sun
My understanding is that the Saturn catastrophe was from a far earlier stage is the evolution of our solar-system. This is something I'll be addressing at length in future videos, but I've got a few other things I've got to get out of the way before what I have to say about that will make sense.
12:00
“All conscious nature has experiences of pleasure and pain. Man alone can deliberately will the repetition of an experience. And repetition, experienced as such, is at the heart, for good and evil, of his faculty of reasoning, and thus makes possible his language, his art, his morality, and indeed his humanity. Yet it is the enemy of life, for repetition is itself the principle; not of life, but of mechanism.”
― Owen Barfield
I really gotta get around to reading Barfield. This would have been a perfect opening quote for this whole video. Maybe I can work it into a future video I have planned on reimagining evolutionary history.

Re the title itself: "The Transhumanist Death-Cult"
Transhumanism -- at least, the kind that I believe in -- is ultimately about infinite life, infinite intelligence and infinite well-being, and is in no way pro-death or a death cult. The real death cult, if it could be called such a thing, would be raw unaltered nature itself, no? In nature, embodied existence is involuntary and extremely limited, and all (embodied) beings are guaranteed to die -- and almost always also to suffer, sometimes immensely for uninterrupted and prolonged periods of time. Infinite lifespan and infinite well-being through the ethical development and application of various technologies (certain kinds of nanotechnology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, etc) could potentially become the very opposite of the guaranteed suffering and death that nature provides to countless beings.
And it's not that I'm afraid of death (I consider it an extreme unknown, from my current perspective), but just that I find being forced into an extremely short life of well under 150 years, followed by the permanent death of the embodied organism, tragic. All of the time, energy, resources, love, nurturing, support, relationships, fears, desires, dreams, aspirations, effort, growth, and maturing that went into that sentient being's life, just abruptly cut short and ended before they could ever realize even one percent of their fullest potentials -- and within a few short years cosmically speaking, it's as if that being had never been born at all.
What is the point of that, exactly?
There are basically no true adults (who I guess would be considered superhumanly mature and aware, by our current standards) on planet Earth, because nobody even lives remotely long enough to fully enough mature into their actual potentials, in terms of consciousness, wisdom, intelligence, understanding, empathy, life experience. Everyone just drops dead long, long before that can genuinely take place -- in many ways as if they had never been born in the first place. (Although I think there are some layers of transpersonal consciousness that do actually survive bodily death and which are not necessarily dependent upon what we perceive as physicality, the physical being themselves and the surface, waking consciousness don't fall into that category for the most part, from what I can tell.)
A gasp of positive and negative experiences briefly suspended in embodied existence, involuntarily, and forced to die shortly afterwards: Again, what is the point of that? I think it would be a lot more ethical if we (or rather, a hypothetical but very possible benevolent artificial superintelligence) responsibly and *very* carefully redesigned certain aspects of nature so that things like involuntary suffering and cruelty, the predation of sentient beings, limited lifespan, and certain other limitations became thoroughly a thing of the past. The vast majority of suffering and needless death could potentially be prevented and reversed, given the correct and ethical development and application of certain technologies -- not just for humans, but for all beings.
Obviously there are terrible versions of transhumanism that basically seek to negatively undermine, destroy, or otherwise Frankensteinianly horror-alter what everyone is (in terms of embodied physicality and in terms of consciousness) in thoroughly anti-natural ways that are in some ways the opposite of beneficial. Science and technology can be (and frequently are) mis-used, with disastrous results. But there are genuinely positive versions of the ideology as well.
__________
Tl;dr: I don't think that (certain kinds of) transhumanism and what gets called spirituality are mutually exclusive. Nature by itself contains and causes an unimaginable amount of suffering, needless limitations and unnecessary death; I think it would be a lot more ethical and desirable if certain aspects of nature were carefully redesigned to reverse and prevent as much involuntary suffering and death as possible -- for all beings, not just humans.
An image will be created, and it will be worshipped. Everyone will want a cool upgrade soon, watch.
First, thank you for all your quality content. Followed you since your Dune video, and you really have expanded my mind like a smart real-life friend or teacher. I'm just beginning this new video, but so far it seems that, like Ray Kurzweil, you are not addressing how reincarnation plays into this. If Ray does re-animate his father's Image, his father's soul won't come incarnate into that machine for Ray's sake. The soul is on its own path and has long moved on to something it actually needs to be doing, and Ray would basically be building an interactive scrapbook of his father at best, possibly something much worse.
Gnostics say "when you die, DON'T go into the light" and Ray is basically trying to cheat death by building a lighthouse.
Loved this episode and love your work. I would say that Steiner's Ahrimanic deception seems to be the conclusion of the transhumanist ideologue.
Transhumanism is kind of a combination of the Luciferic and Ahrimanic - one facilitating the other. Kurzweil's will to transcendence is certainly Luciferic, whereas as the zombified will-to-devour which results is Ahrimanic.
@@Formscapes I'm yet to read the works of bailey; the Lucis trust seems to be the organisation of luciferianism. As I understood the Ahrimanic deception, it was Steiners vision that the transhumanists would give themselves entirely to Ahriman; a technological entity reminiscent of empire. Computation in it's purest form. The machine god of technology. Given what is being revealed around the "human computers" of MkUltra, Monarch and Montauk... I would concur with you. Steiners vision seems to be that these individuals believe their transformation will lead them to a state of "all powerful", yet, that power will be contained by the enslavement of Ahriman. Their essence consumed by machine. "Evil destroys everything including itself".
Thank You for Putting this Intelligibly... I Love this Channel!

Maybe it wasn't a cataclysm which set of the agricultural revolution.
There in the Mideast, at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, people were trading things. Along the trade routes, at the crossroads and intersections, fabulous wealth was traveling through.
Some enterprising people started serving them beer and bread, in large quantities.
Everybody loved it.
Next thing you know, they've got more reason to employ agriculture to feed large, settled numbers of people: they're building a temple, or some monument.
Now the next step is raising an army because you're starting to look like a tempting target to some neighbors or roving bands, and tbf, the wealth is just cascading now.
Problem is, you need a lot of people to work the land, and the land doesn't feed all of them every year. Only in the good years. So to avoid starvation, these early agricultural settlements would always have needed to be in the process of, you guessed it, expansion.
Early farmers would spread out as they depleted their local soils, would always need to be cultivating more and more lands, which required ever and more hands.
Then, with their armies, they would displace the indigenous hunter gatherer groups, eventually eradicating them altogether, and the sedentary lifestyle was born.
Compare Transhumanism to the world of Dark Souls, where people are cursed and CANNOT die. They go mad(hollow) due to having no meaning.

Spiritualists love to mock the very plausible dream of true immortality via materialistic sciences, while they dream with impossible gods, souls and magical thinking...
Transhumanism is not here, it won't be here for 10 years, and possibly won't be here for longer than that...
That 38:47 Darwin quote about the continuation of adaptable as oppose to merely strong or intelligent life forms just hit me.

14:12 our bodies have a lot of cells, so there's always some that are dying and getting replaced with new cells, and after a while most of your body is gonna be ship-of-thesus'd... But that isn't true for every type of cell, like in our brains. We're stuck with the neurons that we were born with!
I think it's possible that the neurons themselves are cycling through their own molecular constituents in such a manner that even the neurons aren't composed of the same atoms after a while but I highly doubt there's a definitive verdict on whether that is the case or not.
@@Formscapes I think it's actually the same situation on the cellular level! Most of the atoms in proteins in the neurons eventually get replaced, but some structures like DNA would be replaced much less frequently, if ever.

Greek/Roman mythology has a really complicated relationship with the mother goddess and the separation beyond even the titanomachy.
For starters, the Actual earth mother, Gaia is not the nice lady you see in captain planet, but a constant antagonizing force against whichever set of deities is in charge. First it was her first husband Oranos/Uranus, who kept her from giving birth to the Elder Cyclops and Hecatoncheires, to which she responded by having her son Kronus castrate him. Then when Kronus reneged on his end of the deal, she worked with Rhea to aid Zeus overthrow her son (and this time actually freed the Cyclops and Hecatoncheires for real). But when Zeus succeeded and sealed away most of the Titans, this angered her too, and she sent Typhon and the Giants after the Olympians, the former of which had offspring that continued to plague the world after (and Cerberus acting as Hades' good boy).
As for Kronus, there is is alot of interesting things that have been set aside and forgotten due to the passage of history. For starters, he seems to have been a harvest god, who merged with the actual god of Time, Chronos, due to their similar names. Furthermore, after his defeat, certain traditions have different ideas to his fate- The most commonly referenced have him still in Tartarus, but others, such as "Works and Days" have him on parole for good behavior and running the so called "Isle of the Blessed" which may be Elysium, while for the Romans, his equivalent, Saturn never was imprisoned and instead fled to Italy and started a minor golden age there.
Finally there is the Symbolism with the time of Kronus's rule- the "Golden age", which upon his defeat, began Zeus's rule and the steady decline of humanity aside from the brief stint of the heroic age. Not to mention the fact that Zeus proved himself to be just as bad as Kronus as when he received a prophesy of overthrow by the son of his first wife, he ate her when he found out she was pregnant (And that's where Athena comes from).
I think there's a bit more going on here with the merger of Chronos and Kronus than simply the phonetic similarity. Saturnian gods were often considered to be the chief gods in earlier time periods, and we see the tension between older, Saturnian culture-forms and later, Jovian culture-forms play out in the conflicts between the Phoenicians and Romans/Hebrews - with one crucial aspect being the sacrifice of first born sons; quite literally sacrificing the future (the solar principle) unto the God of time (time specifically in the sense of the repetition or inertia of the past) so as to ensure the continuity of normalcy. It isn't hard to see why this would have been of immense significance to early agrarian cultures, for whom any breaks in continuity such as climate changes, droughts, etc would have often resulted in mass starvation. So already we can see a connection between the notion of Time-Inertia and the harvest: the God responsible for one would have also been seen as responsible for the other. As such, I suspect that the distinction between Chronos and Kronus represents a kind of ambivalence which the Hellenic/Roman world felt in relation to the Saturnian archetype; on the one hand, it represented a previous age which the Hellenic/Roman culture wished to differentiate itself from - they no longer wanted to sacrifice the future to the past, as it were. On the other hand, those post-Saturnian cultures nonetheless remained agrarian and in many ways highly conservative cultures which did value the continuity of the past. I suspect the phonetic similarity here represents the fact that the two gods were once on deity which was split due to this ambivalence of attitudes, and the two gods then came to re-merge as the age of Saturnian cults drifted further into the past.
I love this thankyou!
I wanna be a transformers character
Imagine wanting to live in a world conceived by your mortal enemy. The only way would be to renounce your essence.
In some ways, perhaps that’s exactly the point.
The essence is reducible to utility in their eyes. Only the utility is important, if its seems like reality it’s good enough and it’s a shortcut to what they see as pragmatic.
This is reflected in the axiomatic way they present materialistic” truths”. Logic just is, the continuity of nature just is, cause and effect just is. The incorruptibility of “information” is presupposed.
The issue at heart is that scientism must abandon metaphysics in favor of psychologism. These things lack meaning and function on the descriptive level(not prescriptive), so the problem of utility must be solved as the biological absent metaphysics is hindrance to ultimate physical reality.
@@henrywolf5332the idea that transhumanism will lead to a borg hive mind or soulless "humanity" is a psyop, a very narrow minded psyop that has no vision for a future nor any creative force.
(disclaimer, this isn't empty boasting..my point is we need to outpace transhumanism with Uber... humanism.... 😬 I won't say more. We need to avoid self aggrandizing talk at all costs as well but you probably get my point)
I am pushing the boundaries of human mental performance in my own life right now. It's taken years of research on neuroplasticity, hypnosis, deeeeeeep introspection, and more for me to find a still somewhat dangerous way to push my cognitive boundaries beyond what I had thought possible before.
My routine is so extreme right now. I would go into deep detail but I could think of a million instances where the active imagination, the micro dosing, the combat sports, the constant studying, sleep deprivation, high fat diet, and minimizing my social interactions from time to time could cause some mental health issues in some people.
I've pretty much applied the same effort David Goggins does to running with cognitive performance, kinesthetic intelligence, situational awareness, amongst other things.
I have become something of a mental athlete.
Man, i love this stuff... But i think you need a better understanding of what 'capitalism' means before saying all that stuff about it. I don't blame you for not understanding - its something you really have to dig into to recognize how we've been misled, purposely or not. I was actually about to share this with a bunch of austrian economist friends, since we're all interested in philosophy or esotericism as well, but i had to stop myself because such inverted meanings that you said would turn them off to the rest of your content. I hope you're not mad from reading this - this is genuinely my favorite channel. Number one! And second is very far behind.
Good wisdom often will come from those who have different opinions than you on some topics. Wise men know how to separate the wheat from the chaff. If i were you id send it to your buddies anyways, even though you disagree with part of it.
@millennialbuddhism2619 I found a different one to send. This comment is meant to be a gift to this channel's owner, if he is able to make use of it.

Your videos make me feel dumb... but in a good way 😆
YOU’RE AWESOME
technologically novel developments will increase within shorter time periods until there is a sizable part of humanity that either has merged with technology or the ideas of a human become equivalent to technology, thats however a distant timeline, but one clearly possible
I have serious doubts that machine technologies will continue to advance at the rate which we saw over the past several decades. Computer processing hardware is very quickly reaching its physical limits, quantum computing has proven itself to be basically worthless...
What seems much more likely to me is that we are reaching the point of "late stage gigantism" which Oswald Spengler describes.
