Yes I agree with you. Every time I put on heavy makeup for some reason it never looked good on me. I looked so ugly and old. That’s why I only loved putting on mascara nothing else cus that would really open my eyes.
my eyes are downturned and also hooded and it's the first time when i see an actual helpful video with a model with downturned eyes. and it's the first time when i see a channel who actually focuses on flaws like downtunred or wide set eyes instead of showing the same makeup techniques that work only for upturned eyes. this is my absolute favorite channel
I have major down-turned eyes and it's definitely better to apply the eyeliner on the WATERLINE rather than below the lower lashes. The eyes are already down-turned, you don't wanna emphasize that further by putting black eyeliner underneath the eyes.
Yeah I have downturned uneven eyes and I have to agree. Also the eyeliner wing should extend based on the lower last line, not the top. The fact that the wing is tucked right into the crease totally defeats the purpose of drawing it on in the first place.
See I think maybe that’s right for your eyes because mine I downturned and I’ve found my waterline is what gives it away. It doesn’t help that I have big, round eyes either. That’s part of why I don’t put anything on my lower lash line. Not even eyeshadow. But I think his technique worked on this girl.
This is true artistry. Beautiful, simple and really effective. I have very hooded, downturned and slightly deep set eyes, so I have the worst combination possible to work with. I can't do the line like that, only on the lash line but I can't extend it since my hood is pass the outer edge of my eyes. I have found that a shimmer shadow and some long wearing shadow sticks and mascara are all I need, if I try adding more products, they look way too heavy. I also have very prominent dark circles that require a dark peach corrector so black or dark colors are always a no no. This is something that only talented artists can deal with. I haven't seen a single "guru" talking and teaching in this way, amazing video!
I’ve never been able wear make up on my eyes without looking weird. Now I know why! Why has no-one ever mentioned before that you need to do it differently for hooded, down turned eyes? Thanks for showing what to do. Keep making videos x
I have the same eye shape. I felt in love with this makeup look, I've discovered it in a fashion magazine on a runway model by coincidence. I did not know it would be the perefect makeup technique advised for my eyes shape by professionals yet it was my everyday look to university. I love it! It's not easy to find someone who is specialist of makeup for this eye shape. Thank you so much!
To me consider you the most useful account to teach me makeup your way at talking your quiet voice and you explain at very easy way thank you so much and keep going 😊 ☺ 💗
I personally like it when you explain it 'live' while doing the make up. I also like the other videos you do with the voice over, only sometimes the cut is too fast for me. here I can see better, what you do. love it.
I knoooowww!!! I listen to you! That's why I am trying to record stuff in time as much as possible and I told the girls that when editing, they need to show the techniques more. ;)
Love the tips and tricks, it’s crazy that over years of doing my own makeup I have learned to do those techniques without any influence. Just me noticing why my makeup wouldn’t look the same as my friends and noticing my eye shape was different. I think that why I look so tired and sleepy without makeup lol
My eyes are downturned and deepset. The hood of my eye goes all the way down so that you can't even see my eyelid. There are no tutorials for my eye and I'm pretty much just ready to give up at this point because my eyes are ugly and nothing works.
I just want to say real quick that your eyes are beautiful, honey. I have downturned eyes as well, and I honestly believe we have the cutest, prettiest eye shape. I had to search real hard to even figure out my eye shape cause I could never find many people who had our eye shape. It’s not ugly; it’s just cause people always do makeup the opposite of what looks best for our eyes, or do tutorials to change our eye shape to “up” ones instead of making videos on what ACTUALLY works for our eyes. So please don’t think that. 💜 And as a fellow ARMY to another-helloooooo :D *high fives*
I think you have hooded eyes and they must be beautiful but if u wanna enhance it there are tutorials available for this eye shape, try it! Good luck!!
I have protruding eyes and a downturn eyes as well. Had been hard for me to wear eye makeup. Looks funny always. Thank you for this tip..will try it out
Thank you soo much, you make us understand the logic, make it simple and effective, achievable techniques, thank you so much, that helped me soo much... your make up attitude is remarkable among youtube makeup community, realistic and simple..btw sorry for my poor english..i wanted to share my thoughts, i hope you continue youtube videos more and be more visible as you deserve
I’m told I have downturned eyes but I’ve always struggled with eyeliner because my crease goes all the way down past the bottom of my eye. If I put eye liner at the crease like this, it would look scary! When I get my eyes professionally done they usually don’t put any eye liner on me or only put it on the top of my eye which in my opinion looks dull and makes my eyes look even more droopy.
Love this kind of makeup with smoked up liner so I would not reapply black pencil but will rather use dark brown or brown pencil (in my opinion more suitable for over 40 years old as it would « age » you less). Very nice chanel and a new subbie 💕👍💕from France 🇫🇷
Thank You very much AdviceMyStyle for a detailed video for close-set dropping eyes!! I love the videos and content on the website. Can you please make a makeup video tutorial for an olive skin tone to conceal black dark circles.
Hiii Payal! I totally know what you mean but it is not so easy. I need to find a girl first and it would be best to go to London for a week just to shoot. Will have your request in mind. Otherwise stay tuned, because we’ll soon launch a video makeup tutorial recommender system. ❤️
Ah, nice to have my natural instincts confirmed here! I wish I'd seen this instead of having to learn most of this by long trial and error! Anyway, I also learned some new things to try. I figured out on my own the shimmer shadow and keeping about the inner 1/3 of the eye free from liner on the upper and lower lids, and smudging it to soften (and I think you could also have softened the inner part of the lower liner a little--at least, I do!). I also figured out connecting the upper wing from the outer lower lid line. Things I want to try from this video: putting mascara only on the outer lashes, and stopping the upper liner where the upper crease ends. Thank you for the subtle but effective makeup! It's in the spirit of my favorite style, vintage makeup from the 40s and 50s. I like that you can see it, unlike the "no makeup makeup looks," but it doesn't look like Instagram, which to me looks only suitable for the stage. I also like how you play subtly with color and keep it simple. Thanks! 👍
Woow, really helpfull. Love this so much. I have downturned eyes and even the tail of my eyes are down (some comment said it too, your model eyes not totally downturned, but however, your tips really helpfull). I try it in minutes 3 when you done and wow, really does work. Thankyou so much I don't like how I look with liquid eyeliner before because I put it from the start of the eyes, so I choose pencil and just put it at the eyes tail but almost follow downturned too. And now I can put eyeliner the right way for my eyes type. And I never know about "downturned eyes" things before. Your video just comeout from my random seach.
Love that! I god that trick from when I was obsessed with Once Upon a Time series and tried to copy Ginnifer's Goodwin makeup (I probably spelled her name wrong but she's Snow White). Love how that makes my eyes look!
@4:49 u called it the lower part of the eye , the correct term is 'the lower lash line'.So U say...u can line the outer 1/3 - 1/2 of the lower lash line.Just trying 2 help with ur jargon. No hard feelings, yeh?I😍watching ur channel b4.Lucky i came pass ur channel again.i knew because i recognised ur accent😜 I'll sure subscribe so i dnt loose this 👍🏼channel again.☺️keep up all ur👍🏼work...

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Every time I put on heave eye makeup, it’s just looks so fucking ugly on me. That’s why I always prefer wearing just mascara. But I was honestly getting tired of wearing the same look and wanted to do something a little different. I didn’t find any videos on this subject including something that would look good on my eye shape. Thank you so much 🖤🖤🖤

As usual , mesmerizing and genius!! May I ask what kind of microphone do you use ? I’m doing online tutoring and I do need a recommendation! Your voice is crystal clear HD , Thank you 🙏 Ciao ciao ciao
Chicabeeelllaaaa!!! First I started with Rode NT-USB which you plug into a computer and the sound of that for 200 bucks is awesome. But now I use Rode NTG-3 with ZOOM H4N which is a broadcast quality for 1000 EUR. Though I use the set for professional production. Would need to have more info on how you shoot the videos and if your face needs to show as well, because if it does, NT-USB is not the best choice as it is a condenser microphone.
Can you please do a make-up tutorial on both hooded and wide set eyes? I feel like I try to follow make-up tutorials but they don't look the same on my eyes. Lol thanks!
Yep, I totally understand why. I did a tutorial on wide set eyes, but they weren’t hooded. Will definitely show you what to do when I find a model. Nevertheless, stay tuned, because we’ll soon launch a video makeup tutorial recommender system. 😇

Interesting tutorial, thanks! What would the solution be for downturned+deepset+closeset eyes? As with eye-shadow: should one use a shimmery and light-colored one (to avoid setting the eye even deeper with a darker eye-shadow?)
Heeeyyyy Chris! This is actually quite hard to answer. Here's a couple tutorials that should answer your question: th-cam.com/video/Hhf-mGesJ-E/w-d-xo.html , th-cam.com/video/Fmc4LCZEe0Y/w-d-xo.html , th-cam.com/video/GITId_r4qSk/w-d-xo.html Just try to extend the eyeshadow or eyeliner outwards. Regarding the color, you can do both, so here is an example of a darker eyeshadow on deep set eyes: th-cam.com/video/IKCG0EwxTOc/w-d-xo.html
Watched this randomly and by the end was convinced you're Slovenian even though your accent isn't strong at all. :P Went to check it out and I'm right! Hvala za super tutorial ;)

Could you describe a down turned eye before you get into the video. Because I would like to understand the eye shape.
Chica, chica, bella! :) There is a video I just recorded that will explain just that. ;)

Very nice video sir. All the love from India.

What if my crease breaks past the corner edge of my eye? And what if it breaks below the corner of my eye?
Perfect 👌 Although I have deep set eyes with a downturned lid but also prominent lids. Should I still do shimmer on the lid?
Yes, why not! Have a play and if it looks good, then stick to it. For a while... ;)
I thought I was the only one that did eyeliner like that it looks better on our eyeshape
Witch kajal pencil you use...?

Heeeeyyyy!! Lovely to hear that. Well, I don't think it is the best idea, because it will smudge and the finished look won't be that pretty.
Finally a more natural look that looks attainable and NOT desperate and over done like alot of makeup looks .

Regarding the color, you can do both, so here is an example of a darker eyeshadow on deep set eyes: th-cam.com/video/IKCG0EwxTOc/w-d-xo.html
no you did not just say "now it looks more almond shaped"
